Ukraine needs to mobilize 10% of its population: interview with Edward Luttwak

- The war in Ukraine seems to be lengthening and the world was not prepared for that. This raises the question whether Ukraine's western allies can and will continue their support regardless of how long the war turns out to be. Some western media reported that soon it will become more difficult for the EU to deliver weapons and ammunition to Ukraine as the union will be running out of military supplies. To paint a more concrete picture of the current state of western support of Ukraine, we spoke with Edward Luttwak, consultant to the US State Department and Department of Defense, associate at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

There are 435 representatives in our House of Representatives. Less than 45 representatives are against Ukrainian aid.
Yet they can gum up the works quite comprehensively . Lovely system It sounds like mr. Luttwak is another of the west who prefers to maximize dead Ukrainians. Rushins too for that matter . Learn your histories people! Luttwak’s masters are the same as dragged out ww1 all the way to the date of 11 .11 (18) on the hour of 1100 …Ww1 cost about 3000 lives per day . ..it could have ended much sooner with same results and substantially fewer dead. We used to be able to commonly discuss these sorts of things

Putin himself described on many occasions that he sees himself and Russia in a greater conflict with "The West", which he sees as the U.S. and her allies. This conflict will not go away, it'll stay with regardless of territorial gain or loss in Ukraine. Too many people and leaders in Europe still haven't realized this, they want to believe the Cold War is over and we've left that nonsense behind us.

Dear Luttwak, who has financed Maidan in 2014? Who has destroyed the nord stream? And who didn't agree for find a solution in Instanbul?
What difference would make mobilizing 10% of Ukrainians? There is neither enough equipment (weapons, arms, helmets, uniforms etc ) nor enough armament and ammo for them to use. The problem lies in resources, for both belligerents.
Ha! You hit the nail on the head! In a civilized country, mobilization is not about rounding up as many able bodies as possible and churning them out into cannon fodder. There is much more to it.
