Looking at my first ever bike at 52yrs old I narrowed it down to these two bikes. I do love all the features the KTM has, but I feel the Honda is the better fit for me personally and I just love watching you ride it, how it sounds and just the reliability etc. I'm awaiting finance and should have a decision today! Will report back when I know! I hope you'll respond to one of my comments eventually. My partner and I find your videos really relaxing. You live in such a beautiful area!
Best review yet. The trail capability of this one appears better than I originally thought. I wanted one so bad when I lived in the PNW but no one carried it, but now have one on order now and should be here within the next week or so. Can’t wait.

Talking about tires, I just fitted the Heidenau K60 Scout in my 500x, 110 front and 150 rear, and they are absolutely A W E S O M E. Totally recommended if you come across a pair and you have the chance. Keep up the great work !
man that terrain is awesome.......I was looking at both these bikes last year and there was only one non ABS CB500x in NE so I opted for the 390 ADV and boy am I glad I did. The bike is a great value being lightweight with adequite power, full tech and ADV protection its a great bike. Keep he vids coming!

Both those bikes have been very hard to come by in Georgia🇺🇲... I was originally looking to purchase the Honda.. but after watching countless videos.. when it is available I will probably get the KTM 390.. my main reason is.. the KTM is about $800 cheaper, and it comes with a lot more.. like the electronics you mentioned.. crash bars handguards, 12 volt outlet.. being only 5'8 on the KTM I'm on my toes whereas on the Honda I'm a little more flat.. and this will be my first time dipping those toes into the adventure bike world.. but like I said right now nobody has either bike so I just keep watching your videos and others.. good job 👍 thanks for the entertainment while I wait. 😎

I love the throaty sound of the CB500x. I'm still not sure if I want the Honda or the KTM, due to so many features on the KTM but I also know Honda have bulletproof reliability. Help!
Ok Honda has 25 percent off roading, but if you change the tires for 50 percent off roading 50 percent on road's , would the Honda be better off roading with this type of tires? If yes, how much better?
I’d rather have an under powered 500 than a rung out 390 for any reliability marker

KTM 390 adv .
.we can say it's entry level of middle weight bikes...even if single cylinder the performance is matched with few middle weight and some times its beats the middle weight also. Features wise it's way beyond middle weight segment

Do you think the KTM 390 Adventure would more or less Adventure/touring/commuter for you?
Have you or have you heard of anyone complain of shimmy in the front end of the 2019 cb500x around 50 to 55 mph and does it go away beyond that speed?
I just watched a vid of a 21’ with a bad wobble. At low speeds though. There was a few others in the comments complaining about the same. They all had 2 things in common, lots of accessories and too much preload in the rear. Wobbles or shimmy’s are typically related to suspension or tires. Oh yeah the guy making the vid had 10k kilos on the factory tires….
On my bike I’ve noticed a slight shimmy at higher speeds like 85-90ish, in certain situations. I can sit back further and it goes away.

Hey, have you heard of or considered the Mitas E-07 Dakar tires? Supposedly damn good on road, legit off road, and a stiff sidewall to help protect cast wheels.
Ever checked out the Tusk dsport tires inexpensive and really good great vid 👍🤟

glad i found these videos...actually looking at both these bikes...i know nothing about ktm but from what i've been reading there may be some reliability issues...currently have a handa crf250l and a yamaha xt250 but don't do a whole lot of off roading...looking for something a little more street oriented that can still hit some trails and go fishing with...opinions r welcome from anyone...thx

In your opinion, do you think the CB500X is suitable to do BDR with added skid plate and engine crash bars?
For sure. This is a very capable and reliable machine.
How do you find trails that are suited to the CB500x. Everywhere I look I only find technical trails for actual dirt bikes
Uh well,…. In this vid we are riding a few “dirt bike trails”. We call them OHV trails…. The bike is fine if your skills are up to it.

I'm a reporter in Oregon covering the lane splitting bill that was vetoed by Gov. Brown. Could I use some of your footage?
Depends on how you are portraying it. I’m actually making a video on it today and I’ll probably have more footage of me splitting today. What are your thoughts on lane splitting?
@@OregonMotorcycle Gov. Brown vetoed the bill so I'm showing both sides of the aisle, it's not an opinion piece. I don't share my opinions on air. Would love to just have footage of lane splitting examples to show the audience what we are referencing.
Ok, we’ll I’m going to get some more footage today. I’ll get back to you later today. What needs to be reported is that brown has zero education in lane splitting. Those are facts. Report on that fact. If she had just a lil knowledge on the matter, she would not have vetoed it. This is a huge problem with politicians who are not familiar with studies such as the Berkeley report. Or how about discussing this with professionals (CHP). Washington tried, but nobody would pay the bill to have a few CHP officers come up. It’s a matter drowned out with ignorance. More education needs to be brought to people, instead of reporting that brown vetoed it.

6 foot I believe.
Both bikes have very low ground clearance. Need to have 25 cm.
