- In this video I show the Hoover PowerDash (FH50700) in action with some cat vomit in the carpet. This thing does a great job picking up all the disgusting liquid stuff your pets leave on the carpet. It also does a good job in picking up excess cleaning solution to speed up drying, and… removing the years of animal hair and fur buildup that’s embedded deep in the carpet fibers.

I love how the word "Behemoth" is in your vocabulary. Instant like! Thank you for the review.
There is way out take the roller out. It's on page 17 of the User Manual. Just got ours this weekend, after it was highly recommended by a neighbor. Love, love, love! Light, yet works incredibly well. Hello, clean carpets!
Hey, thanks for pointing that out. I guess I knew that, but I was hoping this unit would have been easier to get to the roller. That's the same problem I've had with all other vacuums and carpet cleaners - I was hoping it was as easy to service as the clear vacuum channel on top of the unit and not have to take a screwdriver to it. But I'm glad you mentioned that. I made it sound in the video like it couldn't be done.
@Dαɾk Kíss I think he pretty much echoes my point - it's not easy to clean out the roller to clean it. Taking out 4 screws, and fighting with the belt is not something most people want to do on a regular basis. Especially after cleaning up pet vomit or whatever. I do appreciate your comment and sharing the link though!
I use the crevice tool on my wet/dry vac to get the brush clean while it's still damp. Works pretty well. Unplug first.
@@fishpotpete Hi! I borrowed this unit from a friend so as much as I want to return it to her as clean as possible, I am just not comfortable with dismantling the thing with a screwdriver! Like you, I am pleased with the results but Ihope Hoover an figure out how to clean the roller and roller compartment without a screwdriver. Nice video --- thanks.
Just bought onr yesterday! Can't wait to use it. 😃
Nice demo. Thanks.
Read the manual folks. It tells you how to remove the roller correctly to remove the stuff.
Thanks for the review

Looking video for the UH74200 not one deserves as this demo.
order one today on Amazon, was looking for a light weigh cleaner, lots of positive reviews on this model, keep my fingers crossed
Is it good on old stains
Tks fixing to replace this bissell dinasour. Was wanting some real reviews
So this is made just for stains only since the water tank is smaller?
Yay!!! I can’t wait to get mine. I just purchased mine on amazon. I hate pet stains and recently just adopted a senior from our local animal shelter and she had an accident. I hate carpet and wish I can change the flooring, but I live in a rental so this will have to do.
Did you like it or you didn't please tell me cause I purchased mine on Amazon and I don't want to throw my money
Cat Love i give it two thumbs up. I loved it. It worked great on our carpet.
@@CJ-gl4dp Thank you so much for replying cause some people do not reply to my questions and I appreciate it because I just ordered mine in ahead you know I'm trying to save some money and I don't want to take some and throw it down the drain already then I already did thanks for replying I appreciate it
Cat Love it make take a few tries to get the results you want. Don’t add too much soap. Follow the instructions and take your time with the cleaning.
@@CJ-gl4dp OK I will cause too much soap is not good
Thanks for the review. I was wondering if the water comes out hot?
It's comes out lukewarm at best. I will sometimes use real hot water, but I think that room temp water is safer in that it's less likely to lock in the stain. But I could be totally wrong about that though.
Instead of showing me how to use it I was hoping to see how to fill it with water and remove it. I guess it is all in the manual.
Hey there, I've had my machine for about 3 months now and it's working great but I was wondering if you've ever had a problem with the solution end getting clogged? Mine sucks great but it seems like the solution isn't squirting out as fast as it used to. I tested it by looking down there while squirting, and it's barely coming out now. Do you know how to clean that side of the system?
It could be the valve on the solution container is stuck or clogged. I had that happen on another machine years ago. Take the cap/valve off the solution container and clean that out. Usually, it just needs to have water run through it while you stick your pinky finger (or whatever) in the opening to move it in/out. I think the solution can dry on the rubber parts and leave a sticky residue. Try that first and let us know if it worked or not. Thanks!
@@fishpotpete thanks for the reply! That valve is working great...
@@fishpotpete guess what, I tried pushing the bottle down while running it, and that worked so it must be the valve!
Great review, thanks!
Got mine months ago and fairly used it and now it doesn't power on. Took it to a pro and he said the motor burnt...wow..what a piece of crap
That's a drag. I'm guessing it's out of warranty at this point. You might try getting hold of Hoover, but I doubt they'll do anything about it. Usually it's the switch that goes first on these things. If you have the skills (and a multi-meter) can take the switch out and use a multi-meter to check for continuity. Replacement switches are well under $5-10 for the most part.
Yea i was using mine, cut it off no power, then weeks later i was playing with the power pedal it came on, i cut it off, now no power again . I dont think my moters burned up, if it came on i dunno, cant find any information on this
Nice review! I was thinking about buying the same one. Can I ask what type of cleaning solution you used for your demo?
Probaby the Hoover or Bissel product. We've been using those for a while. I believe they both have a pet version. Not sure if it really makes any difference or not though.
thank you so much for review. helped a lot👍
Awesome! Buying this today! Your carpet looked clean already until you went over with this carpet cleaner. My regular vac deceives me too! Also, what solution do you recommend? :)
I use Simple Solution Pet Stain and Odor Remover (I put a link in the description). It's about as good as any and it doesn't foam up. The cleaner that I had in the video was a little more foamy that I like to see - my wife put it in and I'm not sure what product she used. It probably doesn't matter but I don't like seeing any kind of cleaner residue on the carpet when I'm done.
Have a question can u use this vacuum cleaner on dry carpet just to get the dirt out or no it’s just for d stains please tell soon
Yes, you can use it for general cleaning as well. It just doesn't have a large solution capacity and can take several fill ups to clean a large area. But it still does a great job. It just takes longer.
Was using my Hoover power dash and I turned it off to get more solution and now it will not start .
I wonder if it's a power switch issue? I've had several vacuums and other things have problems with those.
Did u ever get it to start? Mine just did that 😔
I sent mine back , the roller is a pain in butt after i cleaned the roller it would not spin at all when i put it back in . i did go over the manual
I agree, that was a real design flaw. I would really like to be able get more of the fur out it each time - but I have to make do with getting about 80% out with my finger... and that's pretty gross. But it does a good job cleaning!
Where you able to get the roller to spin again
Why wouldn't it suck up water?
It does suck up water. The reservoir in on the smallish side. So if you had a major leak or flood, you probably would want to use something else - like a wet/dry vac.
I can't get the dirty water out of the carpet
Is there a leak in the suction system? Maybe the plug on the waste water container isn't inserted correctly. I think that happened to my wife - it just needed to be pushed in more securely. You might check all the filters and see if one of those is clogged. I get a lot of fur out those from time to time and that can really affect performance. Do you run the cleaner over the spot at the end of the cleaning operation without sqeezing the trigger so it's only sucking and not spraying cleaner? It could be something else as well. One thing to keep in mind, unfortunately, is that these things only last a few years of regular use 😞 It might be time for a new one...
Does any one know what model brush would fit this model FH50700. I just want to have a replacement brush on hand. Thank q.
I think you would need to contact Hoover if it's not listed in the manual.
Has anyone used this for dog pee?
Yes, it works great on just about any animal mess. The watch out with urine is that it will soak into the padding below the carpet or even the subfloor under that. So you'll be able to get the carpet portion looking great - but you still might get some odors and, potentially, a stain might reappear if the there was enough urine still left in the pad.
Mine did not release water no matter what we did.
Wow!!! You need a professional system to clean all that hair out
Use boiling water and you'll clean it in one pass! Just a tip!
Lil late, but I've heard of multiple brands that using boiled water can ruin the tank given the plastic type material, people have noted that they almost melt and lose original shape causing obvious problems. Idk, I just bought this one and was looking at reviews.
Apparently these days it's moreso about the solution used following up with 50/50 vinegar to distilled water which gets it cleaner(regarding soap residue) and helps drying process so it's less likely to be a future dirt magnet. Last, I guess the run of vinegar mix also is good for the machine verses leaving the regular soap residue in*
I suppose I could make a video myself possibly...sorry for the Late and novelish "comment"

i own one, it is not this good. this guy must work for the company. and unit is very hard to clean. very poor design
Actually, I DO NOT work for the company. This was just my demo of using one and what kind of results you might expect. Ours crapped out after a couple of year and we bought a different brand more recently. From my personal experience (4-5 different branded machines over 30 years), none of these machines are built for the long haul and none of them are easy to clean. That goes for Hoover, Shark, Eureka, etc. The strength of this particular unit was it's ability to remove pet hair that's embedded DEEP in a medium pile carpet. Otherwise, they're all about the same.
Get rid of the cat... Problem solved
It is sad ur an angry, rude individual. I'll pray for you
