I think caves are so interesting.I have been in several, but I’m not physically able to go through them now.The stories of how they were discovered is always interesting. Thanks for taking us through this one, it was fun. Loved the video.
Went on this tour last week. If you are near Townsend TN, the tour is worth a visit. The caverns are much more spectacular in real life. Shout out to our tour guide Arlen, seen briefly in this video.
Been on the tour a few dozen times between the 1960s and 2000. It seems like it was $2 or $3 per adult in the 1960s. We spent most of our time in Cades Cove so we’d always come through Alcoa/Maryville through Townsend. We would eat at The Wilsons Hillbilly Restaurant a lot of the time. So sad that it closed. Very good memories!
It truly is a super neat place😎 I have been in caverns all up and down the east coast, and AL....LOVE THEM ALL🥰 Each one, has something unique unto it's self. You were very fortunate to get a solo tour. Great for filming. Thanks so much for sharing your experience🐾🦊🐺
Wow, that's absolutely beautiful and stunning! Thank you for taking me along with you to see something I'll never get to see! Really enjoyed your video!
We have looked at this so many times before and have never gone. So interesting. I have a little bit of a fear but definitely need to go. Thanks for sharing with us!!
Am so glad you did this video as the Caverns are not open when we are there in the winter. Fascinating, beautiful and perhaps a little scary too! Incredible example of Mother Nature! Thank you!
I was excited to see this video. My family went there in the late sixtes or early seventies. What I remember most was the cold temperature. It was 65° and the air was pumped up to the office for air conditioning. I remember the bat poo. They asked if anyone knew what that was. Of course some people touched it or rubbed it before they would tell us it was bat poo! It was amazing and I would like to go there again someday. Thanks for carrying us with you.
Hi Bob, this place looks amazing! Thank you so much for doing this video! I definitely want to go there. The video is great, you did a great job and Alec seems like a good tour guide. Thanks so much.
Another Awesome video my friend. Thank you for taking us off the beaten path a bit and for a nice change of subject. Keep up the amazing work...boy would i like to check that place out.
Caves are awesome. I think this one needs a lighting coordinator. It seemed a little too dark at times I couldn't tell much about some areas. It is very big and beautiful. I've never did caves in the Smokies. We've been to Kentucky and Arkansas or Missouri one. Maybe 1 at both. I can't remember for sure. I really liked the creek, bridges and waterfall In this one. Thanks for showing it. I've often wondered about it. A good activity for July and August. I would say rainy days as well but not sure how that would affect the creek.
That was a big difference between this and others I've been in. No decorative lighting at all. They were more trying to let the cave speak for itself. Perfect in the summer for sure!!
Interesting. My family just went to Ruby Falls yesterday (7/8) Yep, pretty. Very commercialized, and entirely way too much colored lighting. In some places, It was difficult to tell exactly what the rock actually looked like. As many have said, this is a dark path through this cave, letting the cave speak for itself is a good analogy. We recently went through Forbidden Caverns (Sevierville?). While they have "some" colored lighting, a majority of it is plain white. While I haven't YET been in Tuckaleechee, I''d think that a respectable amount of white lighting might be better than a dark cave. Maybe I'll change my tune when we go through this one.
Very cool looking place. How slippery was it over all? Also, did they mention whether it floods down there sometimes? Seems like it would. I will have to check that place out the next time I am down there.

Only a few tight spots but a lot of open spaces. Very enjoyable!

Yeah, that stinks... so glad I could bring it for people to see.
My daughter and I went few years ago. The railings on the side were very low. I felt very unsafe. The steps are low. You have to be very careful.
I had no idea this was over in Townsend; that's cool! I'd like to take that tour sometime 😀 ✌
Especially enjoyable on a hot Tennessee day!
That is really awesome and I bet very cool down there!

It was a gross, hot and muggy day... those caves were an oasis. So glad you could join us!
Thanks for this Bob. Haven’t been here since I was young. Great walk through! Can’t wait for more videos!

Thank you!
Great job on this video! I usually have trouble with lighting in places like this!
I really thought it would turn our poorly once I got down there, but it wasn't too bad!
Wow! That was amazing 🙂
I really wished everyone could have been with me. To get a private tour like that was pretty awesome!
Appreciate the video. It's been awhile since I was there might be time to revisit
It seems to be a bit of a forgotten attraction by many

cool place, thanks for sharing
Thank you for watching
We loved going a few years back. We were married in Gatlinburg so we go maybe twice a year. Not as much as you though 🙂
LOL - I haven't been in almost 3 months. I'm starting to get itchy. :)

Not too terribly slippery. He slipped once but I didn't. He said in order for it to flood even a little bit it would take days of nonstop rain.
Wow how long of a tour is it? As far as time?
For a normal sized group I would plan for at least an hour. If it's a larger group it will be longer
