The most perplexing, scientifically unexplainable question about this video is why we didn't see Vortex doing donuts with the Ferrari.
I don’t know how this is possible from what I thought I understood, but yet again I’m super happy I have the ALP. Still the best laser (aka “parking”) defense system around.
The sensitivity/ receive of ALP heads is unreal the engineers designers really do a fantastic job developing them
I love your reactions to this test... thank you for your honesty and showing your mind being blown in real-time. I know you will discover the reason for this and will share.
Brilliant and thanks again
I was literally about to ask if you did DragonEye and then I saw the text. This is pretty interesting. Any chance we could get a DragonEye test?
Well done ALP. I'm super impressed.
It jammed laser with Rocky Mountain Magic of course
Don't grills typically have openings? Wouldn't these openings account for the proper functioning of the jammer?
I used to have my LI installed behind the grill of my G6...in VA. Jammed just fine likely 100+ times. Granted this wasn't with any VPR guns. When I got my ALP last year I installed it in front just because of all the recommendations on rdf.
Understanding that we don’t (yet) face dragon eye, I wonder how effective this would be against a newer gun….and, second, is there something going on with Ferrari grills in particular maybe, spacing, design, orientation that is maybe favorable to those particular wavelengths…
I would love to see the results of your new laser jammer test!!! Please share the results with us!!
Interesting for sure. Love it ❤️
You should get a modified camera that can see the IR light.. Alot of misunderstanding with laser systems from range finders and laser speed guns is just how much "spred" that dot of laser has at distance. its ALOT more then you think.. On top of that they are very sensitive to so they can see their own IR come back into the lens even during sunlight hours so they are MUCH easier to overload then you probably think.. Anyway. You should look into getting a camera or modifying one (its not hard to do with some basic tools) so you can SEE and show us how much of a spread both the laser gun and the jammer have.
You can find videos like that already if you’re curious
Have you tested ALP installations, where the sensors are mounted within the tailight lens or behind the rear window?
I am really interested whether this will work, however I am betting it won't (However this video completely changed my perspective on laser jammer installations!)
That would make Porsche installs on the rear much easier.
Wonder how it would work if that was chrome or chrome painted grill
Wonder if the Tx head is actually firing on the rear despite being wired wrong?
My ALP quad (Rx - 2 front/rear) has always been JTG against everything I’ve thrown at it (LRB, PL3, even DragonEye on a couple of firmware versions) on a mid sized SUV.
You should do more testing with improper installs like in the rear window and see if it works. You were wrong now it would make very interesting content for the channel
I have JTG with 2 RX on the front of my 2000 Silverado. Haven't tested with the Tx
Did you try shooting it with the ALP off?
As a comparative baseline, good idea.
Well good job as long as it works I have my Alp behind my grill of my charger and it's plastic now I'm wondering lol
Oh shit vortex rocking the arc’teryx🔥🔥
haha I love it!
@@VortexRadar I’ve been thinking about grabbing one myself, they’re sweet
They are, yeah. I like to get them when REI runs their 20% off sales, lol. The one I wear now is a daily for cooler weather, rain, and temps down to 40 or so. Feels and works great.
@@VortexRadar oh nice I didn’t know they marked them down, I’ll have to keep an eye out, thanks!
Since you’re in a good mood and you answered my Question about what you are preferring to use these days I’ll ask one more. What’s doing the best job of being the quietest radar these days (you can break it up into what’s doing the best with BSM, other k band falses, and …whatever is left), who’s doing the best with gps lockouts, and also in a related question what would you recommend or find most suitable for an older person, my dad is 75 and I’m wanting to get him a high quality high performance unit but more important than performance etc is just being a quiet unit I can have a chance of training him to use so that he knows when there’s a cop & knows when it’s a false & it shuts tf up as often as possible when not a cop or camera etc.
In my dreams Theia solves all this and literally gives voice alerts that says “popo” and “this is a false alert sorry master” but Theia doesn’t love us anymore so we are where we are.
Jitterbug has a new detector for seniors over age 70, let us know what you think.
What's the consensus on a low mounted front TX head like shown here? That can't be more than 12-13" off the ground, is that still going to give a decent result even though most recommend 20" or more? Or is the move to run an RX head when the center mounting point would be that low?
For reference, I've been trying to figure out the best front laser jammer solution for a 992 GT3 Touring.
Even though this is low. The TX head did not interfere with itself
Great video. Have you done any testing with the alp radar add on
Yep, several over the years. I’m
It a huge fan of it though, mostly due to the interface.
@@VortexRadar thank you and will have to search and see how compares to v1g2 and escort redline. And waiting for the other radenso lol.
Is the grill amplifying the laser burst?
Hello Can you Test genovo max ? Good or bad ?
Any thoughts on testing 1 or 2 Of the New TX Black Heads, Currently running Front 2RX & 1TX Blue, New setup 2RX & 2 Black TX
It’s been tested extensively. Hop on the forums to see test results.
PB&J is the only Proper Jam 😁
How were the heads installed? I'd never allow an installer to drill holes in that car.
Double sided sticky tape XD
@@Napster60 3M or Scotch brand? I've heard good things about 3M.
I have a couple of quick questions: first, I have decided to go ahead and invest in a radar detector with arrows. I’m trying to decide if I should get a Uniden R7, or a Valentine. Which would you recommend? Second, is there a system available for radar jamming that functions like laser jamming? I would love the freedom of being able to drive and be completely invisible to radar AND laser, still detect that my speed is being monitored, and able to slow down even though I have full confidence that an accurate reading would not be able to be obtained? Thanks for all that you do to enhance our safe driving experiences!
The R7, R8 and V1 are all good detectors. Read or watch the reviews, no detector is perfect for everybody but that's where I would steer toward. On the subject of RADAR jamming - DON'T. Unlike laser (FDA), it is governed by the FCC and an illegal transmitter can get you in big trouble as it is a federal offense with stiff penalties.
There are no Radar jamming devices that are legal to operate in the US.
@@bradparker7506 FDA? The Food and Drug Administration? I think you just mean the FCC and the FAA. I don't think there is another government body that has any kind of law about Laser systems.
And if we are talking about not using it because its against the law then.. **shrug** You're talking to the wrong audience.
@@Napster60 Yes, the FCC governs anything that is RF and the Food and Drug Administration is the governing body for all lasers and assigns a class and type. You don't want anything goes when it comes to lasers, the FDA prevents that.
If you ever get a laser jammer I would kill it after 2 or 3 seconds in order for the predator to obtain a speed and keep them from getting suspicious. Just enough to slow down maybe 3 or 4 over..
can you do a test with alps behind the bumper cover so it isnt visible at all. wants to see if its still capable of jammimg
It won’t see a signal or be able to return fire.
So I'm not sure if I'm following you regarding the improper install. Are you saying that if shot from the front, all four transmitters fire but if shot from the rear only the front transmitters fire and it still jammed??
The rear TX head was wired as if it was a front TX head so it would fire for front shots instead of rear shots.
@@VortexRadar I mean, that's amazing. Forget the behind the grill question, the fact that this jammed from the rear when only the front transmitters fired is beyond logic.
@@GeraldLaz38 No, it jammed from the rear not using the rear TX transmitter because no laser was firing from the front to trigger it.
@@machtschnell7452 See, I told you I wasn't sure if I was following, and I guess I wasn't. I'm still confused.
@@GeraldLaz38 There are 3 heads for the front and 3 for the rear. Only 2 of the rear were firing back at the gun during rear testing. The one TX head wasn't because it wasn't wired correctly. The rear TX head was wired so that it would fire along with the front TX head during front testing.
Beautiful car nice color. 🚙
Did he only get laser jammers? Not a custom install front and rear radar detector?? 🤔
There’s a Max Ci there too for radar. You can see its controller next to the ALP controller in the interior photo.
@@VortexRadar oh ok 👌 thanks just was confused. I'll have to re-watch.
Thanks
@@GowthamNatarajanAI you should have been in the video driving it and that exhaust! 👌 Better than Vortex talking Lmao 😂 jk.
not first
Edit: That's a really nice Ferrari. Looks awesome!
Thanks
Do you do ALP installs in Washington? I want you to do my setup. Do you only do those $100 consultations? Anyone you recommend in the area if you don't do installs yourself?
I have pros do the installs for me. In Seattle I’ve used Systems Unlimited (in Bellevue) and they’re great.
@@VortexRadar Thank you
Wow
Who did the install?
Super late to comment… but if both vehicles you tested (where the heads are working from behind the grille) were Ferrari models, I almost wonder if the grille itself on those cars use a nonstandard material for the mesh or a strange coating otherwise that would just happen to allow better pass-through of the signals? Maybe part of their efforts to save as much weight as possible where metal materials would usually be?
I don’t know, just spitballing here. I wouldn’t think this is a large enough consensus to say mesh in all cars is a safe “cover” material. Something funky has gotta be happening with these cars and their exterior trim
Its just light not radio signals I'm thinking it's probably shiny enough to reflect into the sensor or rain helping reflect the light
I just purchased the ALP system today. There aren't any new videos about it, so I'm going to ask my question here. Hopefully, Vortex won't mind and respond since this video is newer than the ones from 7 years ago.
When a police officer targets the car with a laser gun, while we get the alert, is there a way to know if the laser actually detected the speed? Besides seeing the cop car 🚔 light up behind you 😂😂😂
haha yeah my videos on it are all pretty old now. I could always do an updated series at some point.
To answer your questions, jammers can jam, but there’s no indication of when an officer gets a reading. Usually the best option is to run pro mode and you can tell when the officer stops targeting you.. which could be an indication of a punch through.
@@VortexRadar, thanks for the quick response. I would love to see an updated video. Never used jammers before. Watched many of your videos, so I have a general understanding. Did they make any new improvements on their systems, or they're still the same from those times? Thanks!
Talked to alp yet? Should really try to find a way to do some sort of collab with alp
Isn't laser jamming illegal? Won't cops immediately know that you have laser jammers installed in your car when they are unable to find a reading on your car? I know you can slow down and then let of off the jammer but wouldn't cops find it odd that it took couple of seconds extra to gauge speed on the car that was "moving pretty quick" ?
Easier fish to fry
Laser jammers aren't illegal at a federal level like Radar jammers are.
I wish more states would repeal their anti laser jammer laws. As far as I am concerned given how technological weapons are becoming, this should go under 2nd amendment.
Not applicable at all. Your understanding of the 2nd Amendment is seriously flawed.
@@machtschnell7452 not when you consider whats coming in terms of drones and other automated stuff. Note I’m not saying laws against using laser jammers, I mean laws against merely possessing one.
@@Ultrajamz you are correct. The Second Amendment IS a right for any “weapon of the day” and it’s components. Today, laser is used as components for weapons systems (like a butt stock or ram used to load a flintlock of the day). Which citizens are supposed to be guaranteed to have access too. Unfortunately, FDR (USA king C0mmie until LGB/FBJ), and his puppet Supremes upheld the 1933 Nat. Fire. Act. Which give enslavers faux excuse to limit the Second Amendment.
Furthermore, you are correct that laser itself is protected under Second Amendment. Because it has now become a projectile of sorts itself. The Bill of Rights does not limit to gunpowder or lead balls. ANY weapon design is protected. Including upcoming lasers used as a direct fire weapon. However, again, the enslavers like moron above will argue that the Bill of Right was written by old white men, only listed for their own decade of time. Not universal coverage over time, space, and advancements.
The Bill of Rights is a timeless document covering anything moving forward. Without change or modification. Enslaving little D tyrants will do anything to someone who disagree with their draconian rules to oppress. However the Bill of Rights means nothing unless it is defended with threat (or use in dire situations) of capital force by the free citizen as needed. That is another item not well understood (or respected by busy body enemies of liberty).
Law enforcement has begun to overstep boundaries imo. It's a revenue generator for municipalities.
Cops watching this: 👁👄👁
Carbon fiber?
Bottom line I’m buying a Ferrari. 😎interesting review. Thanks for this test
Ugh wish they wasn't so expensive
Please test with Dragon eye, Please
You can use my Ferrari for science
The front and rear distinction on the ALP might not matter. It's still sending the same jam, it doesn't care if it's front or rear.
The point is the rear TX is not transmitting if there is no reception by the front sensor.
Bring out the dragon - that install won’t last.
Motto is ; everybody need a Ferrari
Here's a novel idea, save the racing for the track and save all the money on this equipment. Jammers should be illegal - why would you need one unless your speeding. The last time I checked, speeding was illegal.
It's not to save money it's to help do illegal stuff and save your license and hassle from police
