- Mt. Hood is one of Oregon's most iconic landmarks. Famous for its winter-time skiing, Mt Hood also attracts many visitors during the summer months. With miles of hiking trails and the Mt Hood Ski Bowl close by, this is truly a destination not to be overlooked by anyone planning a family vacation.
We are staying at the Mt Hood Village RV Resort, located in Welches, Oregon just minutes away from Mt Hood, breweries, restaurants, grocery stores and more outdoor activities then you could do in a week.
We join Sharon and Joe from @rventures1021 for the next two days and check out the nearby attractions. We visit the Timberline Lodge where the exterior shots from "The Shining" was filmed to stand as the Overlook Hotel.
We grab some brews in the lounge at the lodge and tour the rustic furnishings of the century-old building, walking through the halls displaying its rich history.
Afterwards, before heading back to the Mt Hood Village RV Resort, we get some burgers, brews and pizza at the Mt Hood Brewery.
The next day we make our way over to the Salmon River vie the Wildwood Trail, whose trailhead is accessible from the campground. We cooled down in the dedicated fish viewing area and soaked in the river.
This area is a must for anyone who wants the Oregon experience.

OMG Oregon has been on my want to visit list for ever! And I am a super fan of the Shinning and wine ! LOL its a perfect combo. The Timberline Lodge is amazing!!! I am so jealous. The food at the brewing company looked delicious! The trail looked super cool. You guys are so much fun. I really hope we run into you guys some day when we get back to traveling full time again. Ah, that is why I recognized the iconic Timberline lodge. Well, cornball is probably coming again! The food and beer looks good. Wow 110 degrees. Good sweat and with no bugs. Awesome to see Joe and Sharon too. Wow that area has so much to do. Looks like full time life coming. Cheers to the journey👍
We cant wait to full time but it may be best for us to ease into it could you imagine us with freedom everyday! We appreciate your comments and your support ! We love Boring we actually found it years ago when friends recommended a guy to work on our Lexus he was the most reasonable priced person and was really good we went a few times and a couple years ago we discovered an awesome brewery called Boring Brewery ! We always go when we go to Mt Hood! Mt. Hood's always been on my list to visit; I didn't know the Timberline Lodge was in Oregon though! For some reason I always thought The Shining was filmed at that resort in Estes Park, CO. Looks like y'all had an awesome trip!

So many great places in the northwest it is tough to say which would be our favorite we also love Mt Rainier we will be sharing that in a couple months and we already shared a video of time at Mt St Helens which may be one of our favorites that was a good video and we may visit it again and show the other side on it one day. Mt hood is so pretty - our family used to have some property in Hood River Ore, many years ago. I always loved visiting and seeing that area. Great job on the video as always - and great narration - Ron could do TV/Radio! Looking forward to your next adventure :)
We love Hood River it is one of our favorite places we did do a video on it and its doing well ! We will go back again and show it off the wind surfing is so fun to watch. How fun you got to hang out with Joe and Sharon! It looked like you guys had a blast! Hiking in 110 degrees sounds like a terrible idea though! How long before you get to go full time?
Ron has just a little over 6 years to go now! We can't wait but he has been getting a lot more time off now he has over 25 years so we are loving that. Luckily 110 is rare around here we usually only get a handful of hot days during the summer that was rare. We were able ro hang with them a couple times. Thx for joining us hope we can hang soon!
It's been a fun tour of the area and your summer travels! We need to go hiking together, we'll bring the beers! LOL Then play Cards Against Humanity - haha - heck yeah! I bet you were loving that taste of full-time life; we get it in the summer and it's so good! Happy travels!
Well we have 6 more years but we are enjoying the practice. Ron gets a lot more time off now that he hit 25 years of service so we are utilizing a lot of time in the RV. Yes yes yes we want to hang with you either Campin or cruisin let's make it happen and we can take turns sharing beers!! 😊

😂 Don't see myself bunjee jumping but I won't say never. I am on the other hand contemplating doing one of the longest steepest zip lines in about a week honestly I didn't pre sign up I have decided if it's still available it may be meant to be and I will possibly do it. Stay Tuned! Poor Ron has to do extra extra editing when I attempt this stuff. Ok Mt Hood is so great hope we see you visit one day! Thanks for the support again great seeing you again!
