Glad you enjoyed! I live in Portland and speak for many...it’s great having it close by when a break from the urban grind is needed.
Hood to Coast is an absolute blast! Cheers.

Agree. Now just wish the City of Portland could turn things around. We don’t even spend a minute in that City any longer which is too bad.

i was a manager there for 12 years. i made over 1000 videos on mt hood. snowboarding. snowshoeing. survival. guns. archery. hiking. mushroom hunting. trout fishing. i stayed at the lodge every week for a year before i moved there. i was employee of the year a few times. i love timberline. i did bigfoot snowboarding videos. zombie snowboarding videos. regular snowboarding videos. summer and winter. trees and pow and summer glacier shred. i spent so many days in that lodge. every xmas company party etc. i even stayed at the silcox hut a few times. i left 3 years ago to move back to the midwest as there just got to be way to many tourists. i come home from work. tourists staying at hotel in govt camp...they park in my driveway. so after a 14 hour day. i come home to not get to park at my house. to park 3 blocks away in a snowbank. it was a nightmare at the end. many of my long term friends all left for the same reason. cost of living skyrocket. so most had to get a second job on the mt then every day you shred or go fishing. every lake so full. resorts so full. i gave up the thing i love the most i life due to portlanders coming and ruining the mt. littering. making the place i loved. shed tears for..... a place i had to leave. i am not saying all are like that. or people should not go. not one bit. but the environmental green energy protesters came up there and litter the hell out of every camp site. preach one thing in ptown the come to the mt and trash it. every local hated every tourist. they acted nice at work but they hated it. and i am glad you went there. it is amazing. and not every tourist is bad. just it got so bad that many others like me. employee of the year. role model managers. left after over a decade. due to these things. i got to amazing chairs that were once in the lodge that later ended up at the brew pub that they gave me. 2 huge thrones. and i think roosevelt sat in it. i still have them.

Wow you definitely had quite the experience. That is awesome. We agree with 100% about tourists and those claiming to be green activists destroying campsites. We see it ourselves all the time. As locals we share many of your same frustrations and have talked many time of leaving. It’s not what it once was that cannot be denied.

@@adventuresofjandk ya they sell these cheap sleds all over up and down highway 26. and at the sledding hills. there are dumpsters full and piles on the ground of broken sleds. and in govt camp we have to do a town clean up after snowfall. hundreds of beer cans. bottles. garbage. broken sleds of every color. and clear lake. that camp ground. by the end of the summer. hundreds of piles of poo and toilet paper all over the camp grounds. i mean hundreds. no one digs a tiny hole. for their camping. do it then bury it. whatever the method. ya it is sick. broke my heart. it was easier to give up the mt than see the place i love treated so poorly. but ya i did survival on a national tv show. winter survival. they found me through youtube from my old winter survival videos. and the finding bigfoot show. those guys came up to meet me. as they were fans of my videos. back then. as back then they were not like the videos i do now since i moved to the midwest. they were action national geographic type adventures. or so it felt like. and my editing on my outdoors videos was good. the mt provided great content. but ya the finding bigfoot guys came up and ate at timberline with me and i got videos of that and i took them hiking and to one of my survival shelters in the forest. took them hiking. to waterfalls. lakes. the lodge. good memories for sure.

Thank you. Photos I use a Nikon Z6 and a Zfujifilm XT5. For some of the video work it’s just my iPhone 14. I use the Nikon sometimes if I can get something static. Doesn’t do great with hand held shots unless very smooth panning.
