    Liked especially your first waterfall-picture, and the pastel minimalist seascape with the headland.
    Getting known to the nearby landscape in various conditions and learn to know it from "the inside" as "our own" - as you do - I think is a key to reach the viewers with the impact it has on the photographer..

    Hi Julian. Enjoyed this ! When I watched your location videos first time round, I made myself a promise to get a week's pass off the better half and visit as many of them as possible. Time and Covid lockdown (plus the latest lot here in South Wales) has overtaken me I'm afraid. I've now saved this to my locations folder with a promise to make them a must for when the madness ends ! Many thanks for sharing this excellent compilation.

    Hi Jules: Wow . . . what a truly inspiring and peaceful video! I loved all of your video footage and the music in support of this relaxing video. Only one problem. I have to add this to my bucket list of locations to visit! L.O.L. First world problems as my wife would say. All kidding aside, once I get up to the Scottish Highlands and Lake District next fall to see your mate Chris, we will have to start planning our next visit to England. You should make sure you share this video with your local tourism boards as this would be a great way to promote your amazing area. Keep Covid-19 safe, and keep creating. Cheers, Keith

    Julian hi just watched the video you recommended what a lovely well put together video. It never ceases to amaze me how much variety we have in the uk we are so spoilt. Also with Brent tor and other places of worship why they built them in such remote places as people would have to track up to these places. Great watch Julian

I so look forward to the return to normalcy, when I can travel to these stunningly visual locations and who knows, one day, to shoot with you as my instructor? And yes, I will continue to encourage you, when the time is right, to lead groups to these places you have shown us.

    The next time we go down to the mines go behind their mines on the cliffs and there is a nice view of the back of the mines to the mines on the hillside. When we went down there 2 years ago a local photographer who is taking photography of birds told us about it. We done Cornwall next week at Boscastle. Will visit some of these sites

    Hey Julian,
    I know you use Nikon Z7 for your photography but which camera did you use for your Videos? I really like the color/light tone. Thanks.

      Hey, it was mostly shot with my previous camera, the D850. There is a Behind the Scenes video for this video (czcams.com/video/ioj8SvX-iss/video.html) and if you look at the video description I list all the gear I used to make the video. 👍

    Hi again Julian: Now that Nikon has announced the Z6II and Z7II (and there are already several extremely critical reviews here at YT), I was wondering if you'll be upgrading and/or reviewing them? Some of the reviews, based on preliminary specs are very hostile and the consensus seems to be that they are nothing more than minor upgrades and that Nikon is/will be falling farther behind Canon and Sony. I am a longtime Nikon user all the way back to my film days and have yet to transition to ML. But I am distressed by Nikon's poor financial state and what appears to be a failure to keep up with Canon and Sony. IMO, not keeping up can mean only one thing and that is ever decreasing revenues and ultimately, becoming a non-player in the marketplace.
    Your thoughts, please?

    • @jbairdexp
      @jbairdexp  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Paul, let's start with the Z7 II...it's the camera that Nikon should have released in the first place. I won't be upgrading though. I'm normally the first to upgrade but in this instance there just isn't enough new features to justify the cost of upgrade. As a landscape shooter about the only thing that is really useful is the 2nd card slot, but I'm not at the stage where I'm happy with a single XQD slot. While I would like that 2nd card slot it's just not enough to make me want to spend £1000+ on the newer model. Things like eye AF in video and 4K60fps are of interest to me, I wouldn't use them enough to even remotely consider the upgrade. My needs as a landscape photographer are simple and the Z7 II doesn't offer enough over the Z7 to justify the cost. If I was coming from any of the Nikon DSLR range though I would go straight for the Z7 II.
      As for Nikon's position in the marketplace this doesn't bother me. All the headlines in the press are just there for drama. Again, for me as a landscape shooter the Z7 does just the job I need it to. Sure the Canon and Sony cameras are further forward in tech, but I can't put my finger on any of those features that I would need. What matters to me is that the camera continues to deliver the results I need and that isn't dependant on Nikon's position in the tech warfare. Even if Nikon went bankrupt tomorrow it wouldn't mean my camera would stop working.
      Camera tech is a funny thing....just remember that Canon was perceived as being behind the game just 12 months ago....and think back a few years and Sony was a non player. I wouldn't write off Nikon yet....the user base is still massive.

      @@jbairdexp Thank you Julian! As always, your presentations are well thought out, well delivered, and based on real life experience. I am certain I speak for many others who watch your channel and others who have grown tired of the drama and "clickbait" scenarios posted by other YT creators. It's also nice to know that serious photographers are not taken in by the melodrama and simply go about creating without worrying about all the histrionics. Thank you for taking the time (again) to answer my questions. Cheers!
