- I visited the Cadillac V-Performance Academy at Spring Mountain Resort and Country Club to push the limits of the CT5-V Blackwing in many ways! Spring Mountain Resort is just outside Las Vegas, NV where you can learn to drive your CT4-V and CT5-V Blackwings like they were meant to be driven. Professional instruction, fantastic learning opportunities, and miles of smiles were had as we tried to tame the 668 hp beast!

Just paid and joined the V-Club this morning. Have had a CT4VBW for six months now and love it. Seriously pursuing going to school.
I’ll be in the 9-10 Oct CT4V class, and I can’t wait! I just got a 5 so hopefully I can do that one in the spring. I know this video is 2 yrs old, but THANK YOU for sharing!
I did the V Academy 5 years ago when I got my '17 ATS-V manual. Really great instruction, lots of fun. My session was filled with automotive journalists, so I was even mentioned in a few articles. The fact that it's included with the purchase of a BW is an awesome added value. BMW charges around $2500 for their course, and the BW is already considerably cheaper than the equivalent M3s anyway; flights are not included with any program. I hope to get another V BW in about a year, so I will look forward to going back .

The performance academy was so awesome. The condo was excellent and included with the academy. The main thing was the training instructors and using that on the course. A great experience and thank you Cadillac it was Included in the purchase… Love the car

I went to the Corvette School there in 2016 and the V Academy in 2018. Absolutely top notch instruction and facilities. As I bought my ATS-V w 1426 miles on it I paid full boat for the V Academy at $3500 but it was well worth it. I will go again the year I get my new CT4 (or 5) BW in a year or two.

Looks like fun! I've been doing track days on and off over the last decade or so and when I bought my M4 I wanted to do Performance Center delivery which gives you a day of M school but ended up buying one on the lot. I traded it for a 19 ATSV and missed out on V academy since I bought it CPO. Now I'm on the hunt for a CT4-V Blackwing and will definitely take advantage of this offer. I already go to Vegas twice a year, so it's perfect!
I drove the 4BW last weekend on a track and I was really impressed! Definitely the better track toy
Sweet! I wonder if any of the racing schools out here in Phx will add any of the Blackwings. They have all the Hellcats and Demons, Mustangs and Corvettes though.
Doubtful unless Cadillac wants to put a Academy there. The cars still belong to Cadillac from what I understand. The school doesn’t own them.
This is awesome that cadillac includes this with a new purchase of the BW. Are there other car manufacturer does this for their customers? If any im guessing cadillac is one of the few that offer this.
So how much outta pocket if we bought our BW used? Im guessing this would be upwards of $5k for the weekend?
I know other manufacturers offer it but not sure if free. Porsche has similar but it’s about $1000. Toyota gives a track day and instructor with their GR86 and GR Corolla. I believe BMW might have something.
I think the two day is about $3500. Prices on the website I think.
I was just notified on 3-12-22 that I was lucky enough to secure a new 2022 CT5V-Blackwing . I ordered a Summit White/automatic without all the carbon fiber options. My buddy ordered one at the same time and his is on hold, due to the carbon fiber stuff. I wanted the car as a retirement gift for myself. I was notified on my 1 year anniversary of retiring. After 29 years of NY law enforcement survival ! I still have and drive my Dad's 1967 Cadillac deVille convertible. He gave it to me when I was 12 years old. I'm 57 now. Coming up on 200K miles and getting a 429ci engine rebuild in a few weeks. The old Caddy needed a baby brother. I did not know that they offered this school and will definitely take advantage of it. Hoping to take delivery sometime in April 2022. I just sold my 2018 Chev Colorado ZR2 to help pay for the Blackwing. I bought the ZR2 in October of 2018 for $43k and AutoLenders is paying me $40k !!!!! I am ecstatic that it will cover 40% of the Caddy cost.

That’s cool as heck!!! I wonder did you get any info on the carbon ceramic brake calibers. I have a 2018 CTSV3 Championship edition and wanted to add a set of the carbon ceramic calibers on it.
I think you can make it happen but the new generation may have some unexpected elements. You can try the ZL1 or ZR1 carbon ceramics. Check with Camaro or corvette groups to see if anyone has done it and if there’s any oddities. One thing, your 19” rims may not fit. So double check! Also … I feel sorry for your pocket book.

Was just there last week. BW owners get this for free with purchase or lease of their cars. "We can't go faster if you don't hit those apexs."
Does anyone know what’s the difference between the CT5-V Black Wing and the CT5-V series besides prices and also how many of these have or will they make
The main difference is the Blackwing has the 6.2L Supercharged V8 and the Regular V is 3.0 twin turbo V6. The blackwing has larger tires, brakes, slightly different suspension, better aero, more interior appointments, etc. Not sure how many Vs or BW will be made. Still in production.

They have auto and manual.
Yeah you chose auto or manual. Seat tile wasn’t bad. I think we did about 25 laps a day.
@@JetFuelOnly Thanks! I've done an M school with BMW and it just made me wish for more lead/follow laps and instruction. But for the price, still an okay value for the one day event. Now, $3500 for a two day school and 25 laps a day seems a little light. On the other hand, when am I ever going to get to drive a CT5-V Blackwing? Again, thanks for the video and info!

Not at Spring Mountain they instruct in these cars they have on property. There are lots of tracks elsewhere though. Where do you live? Check out hookedondriving.com

Black wing daily driver and all around car. GT4 for the weekend - terrible daily

@ 4:13 the fuel tank is reading full but the range is saying it only has 75 miles... the mpg can't possibly be that bad.
Average 5mpg on the track. Pretty typical. Even my V6 TT CTS gets under 10 on the track
I would still take the ZL1 1LE over this thing any day
