I'm pretty sure the crits you were noticing from the chains was Megavore.
They were, but still because of that it works wonders with Leave No Trace and the skill that chances for cooldown on crit.
This thing destroys everything on shock Amara and phasegrasp that links enemies and augment that phasegrasps enemies near
Might add singularity to group enemies more easily, and electric banjo to enhance chains
Banjo works really well with it for supplementary dps.
This isn't particularly great, but I actually really like it with Cryo or Radiation Maliwan weapons like the Westergun and Infusion to add Fire/Corrosive so you can literally match on almost anything that you run into.
I have an annointed Brainstormer with 300% bonus damage after phaseslam... holy cow that thing wrecks

This shotgun allows for extreme abuse of Megavore + Headcount on FL4K for super short/instant cooldowns. Cryo/Corrosive on skill end anoints makes it deal excellently with armor too, it's a complete beast of a weapon.
I use the Brainstormer on my Amara. It's a lot like the Recursion - it gets stronger and does a lot more DPS when there are more enemies around.
I love that the tesla effects deal damage to both chained enemies instead of what is being chained too. That's why its so effective at clearing mobs when there are 1 or 2 Badasses.
It's great on Amara because of how it allows for double-dip with TTB/Indiscriminate, but the Tesla's critting means it could have interesting synergy with F4deaway and Headcount.

I could be wrong, but i think the arc are only criting because you have the 20% crit capstone.

I have it with my amara and it works so well with her especially with an elemental build
I find the screams of the Maliwan Troopers to be hilarious.
Just tested this with Amara and Ties That Bind against Katagawa Jr. on Mayhem 4, can still one-shot him with the Redundant version if you grasp him and shoot right when his clones split.
I absolutely love this gun on Amara. I wonder if there's any synergy with this the Electric Banjo?
I adore my 150% Radiation at Half Health Brainstormer on my Deathless Moze.
Yeah pretty sure the crits on the chain lightning were from having Megavore so it probably won't proc Brainfreeze directly. That said it should still do some good work with Calm Cool Collected in general if you can get one with +50% Cryo damage on Terror or after Action Skill end.
on zane i noticed that the storm front can crit and freeze enemy's haven't tried the brainstormer yet with brainfreeze but i will try it could be really good for freezing and striping shields
I really like this gun. I used it a ton on Fl4k pre-nerf and it was seriously OP... it could shoot forever. It's still really really good especially in creature slaughter for the rakks. Seriously, it probably shaves 5 minutes minimum off a full run. I haven't tried it on my new Zane build yet, but now I have an excuse thanks to this video.

I was wondering if it chains to other players when In a duel because if it does then that has the potential to do some funny stuff if you have a friend willing to wear a transformer and get shot a few times.
In case you haven’t used it, the freeman is definitely worth checking out
I'd say flat out the best mobbing Shotgun on Amara, if you go with Forceful Expression. For me personally, it's a bit too overpowered and not as satisfying as a point blank Hellwalker critical in the face. But I'm a Jakobs fan, so I'm obviously biased :)
FL4K makes stupid good use of this gun if you’re using gama burst or fade away. If you use megavore the tendrils can crit and then with leave no trace (I think that’s the skill) you can get your action skill back stupid quick and run whole maps basically in fade away the whole time or using gama burst red fang near permanently
Too many good shotguns, too many good Hyperion shotguns. This gun has too much competition.
Also non-unique hyperion shotguns are pretty good on bl3 for early game
Amara with the electric banjo, phasegrasp ties that bind and stillness of mind are amazing for big groups. Solo dps sucks tough

Face puncher is better especially on amara I use a broken artifact with it . The artifact is one that adds shock when you slide and applies it to your next melee attack and chains to nearby enemies plus shotgun damage and action skill cooldown and accuracy. The reason the artifact is broken is you don't actually need to slide to get the shock damage you can just start firing and it happens. The artifact also adds 80 percent fire to melee aswell . I can one shot pretty much every enemy on Athenas 2 shots for the badass enemies tvhm mayhem 3 .

This is HANDS DOWN the VIP of solo wotan kills as amara. Not only are you unkillable but you clear everything at once without aiming
I think the best thing to do when you’re about to go down is to leave an enemy weak and wait to be downed so you can immediately get back up.
Ideally yes but you don't always have that option. As in there I got low with no one close or low so charge in

This, the Electric Banjo and Infusion = a retarded amount of damage. Seriously even in MH3 this thing can melt a whole mob in seconds. Shock Kaos on secondary and you can kill pretty much anything with no bother. Armour, Health, it don't matter.

Plug & play? Yes, but everyone has different ways of building around it to really crank it, which I think is still more interesting than guns that you throw on anyone randomly and autowin. It's stupid strong when built around it but I wouldn't call it God-Tier on its own.
I've always wondered why you use FL4K for the 'neutral' build. A pet class has an edge, the pet usually covers any issues the main class, often making more than 'average'. I can understand why you wouldn't use Amara, her Elemental stats would skew, but Zane or Moze would probably be better as Neutral. Now, if you prefer FL4K as a class, that's fine. As much as I personally like Zane, for example, I'm finding Amara is more survivable with my rather sad play style.
Also, Destiny is NOT a looter/shooter. It's a bog standard MMO with guns. It doesn't have the drops nor the leveling mechanic for it. It also locks loot behind activities, not just quests.

Even on Amara I never really cared for this gun. Just not my style, not enough damage and I don't use shock weapons except maybe the shock cutsman for bosses.

I hear a lot about this weapon being awesome and, although I have tried really hard to like it, I just don’t. I am not a big fan of Hyperion shotguns in this game for some reason. I really enjoy the Torgue and Jakobs shotguns, but the Hyperion shotguns in this game just don’t feel good to me. Personal thing I guess. Also, on the Brainstormer in particular, I am not a big fan of the firing pattern. It seems hard to hit crits or something?
