- Los Angeles Lakers all star LeBron James returned to the court with a 29-point triple-double in the Lakers comeback overtime win versus the New York Knicks Saturday. However, Russell Westbrook was benched down the stretch. The former MVP scored 5 points on 1-of-10 shooting, and when asked about leaving him off the floor, Lakers’ head coach Frank Vogel said quote “you just make tough decisions in the spirit of whatever the team needs to win a game." Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe answer if the Lakers should bench Westbrook in crunch time.

Why would he listen to you, a loser on your keyboard complaining from behind closed doors? Russ is a legend. A top 75 player. He hasn’t fit well into the Lakers system, and that’s a fact. If his contract wasn’t so huge it would open up cap space to get more solid rotational players. It is what it is. You really shouldn’t criticize good people who have accomplished 100 times more than you could ever hope to. If Russ listened to people like you and that crowd, he would still be homeless. His only real strenght was his athleticism, but right now his athleticism ain't anywhere near what it was

I love your guys' show; Skip and Shannon are a perfect fit. To me, this is the best sports debate show right now! However, one thing that I dislike about the show is the inability to see those video breakdowns that they do in the studio. It would be nice if they could incorporate that into their CZcams clips.

His ego is hindering his greatness. Russ always gives effort but dosent think. His athleticism would hide that but now that he’s aging , he’s true skill is showing . He never upgraded his game. He plays the same way he always has. U see MJ,Kobe and Bron change their style of play as they age. Russ dosent understand that being an atheltic freak won’t last forever. Giannis would follow the same fate as Russ if he had his mindset. Giannis knows he can get 30 and 10 just from being athletic but keeps adding to his game cause he knows skill> genetics. Russ still is a freak and if he practiced and perfected his skills more as a point guard, he’d be lethal in this offense. If u notice all the bloopers and lowlights, he always gets open with ease. He just dosent have the skill to finish the play . He still has that a 100mph motor but he’s not as athleticism and that’s an Basketball IQ problem. He needs to learn to slow down and understand basketball and how it works.

His unwillingness to change his game hurts him terribly, but we saw even in Washington that he can still play at an elite level. Russ has been given plenty of opportunities to contribute and even take over ball games, saying he’s a ‘scapegoat’ when majority of the losses are directly attributed to him is just laughable.
