Actually the career changing incident that Awakened The MONSTER Inside Roger Federer was death of his coach Peter Carter in 2002. He described it in multiple interviews that he wanted to get rid of his anger and be a better man for Peter after he died.

Yes, this is true. And also inclusive of such events in our life that we can "take to heart" and learn from is referred to in the somewhat long comment I made above yours about what it is that can allow us to align ourselves with our destiny and not be stopped short by what is usually called fate. Thank you for your comment. I did not know of this event of Peter Carter's death and the pivotal role it played in Roger's life. So thanks, again for it reminds me that my own inevitable death, I'm 75 now, can be a great adviser as I remember it's inevitability in the face of my life's circumstances and decisions.

@@fineasfrog Thank you for your wise words. Despite being 29, I'm still tying to find my place in life; which is my destiny. I feel what Roger understood and found very early on is what only a few people get in their life. Which made him successful in every step of the way. I hope I can find something like that.
You are at a similar age to my grandmother. Hope you are healthy and when the time comes lots of years later, you can pass on with happy memories.

@@simonsiddique Hello again. Yes, it is rather rare to come upon that which can guide our steps in life. We need wisdom which can come from applying what we need to know and know what needs to be done. For me "what I needed to know to apply in my life" came through a teacher who died in 2016. One thing he taught was learning to live in the question. He covers this in the first chapter of a very readable book; though, it's title "The Alchemy of the Heart" seems a bit odd. The author's name is Reshad Feild. I can recommend getting your hands on a copy and seeing what in it strikes you that you can apply in your life. Everything in the book might not necessarily be your cup of tea, yet that doesn't matter. Never mind that just take what you need and don't be put off by the language that the essence of the words is couched in). He has to use a framework of words but also he has put the distilled essence of a lived life into his words. So don't be put off by the language he uses. You can extract the essence that may be there for you. He speaks from the heart and with common words, not technical words. I'll leave you with a joke: Two snowmen are standing out in a snowfield. One says to the other "Do you smell carrots". Hint: Our ordinary mind and its attending continuously overlooks our own simple presence (which ultimately is not separate from anything) which is not limited to the separate form that we see with the physical eyes. This simple presence is the matrix (womb) of your own human and total potential (it contains the whole of your true potential; your destiny and the way to that destiny that can unfold to you) on earth as it already in the unmanifest potential. May you travel well in this adventure we know as life.

People didn’t admire Jordan only because he got 6 rings. They admired him because of the way he played while he got those rings. It’s the same with Federer and it’s definitely not the same with Djokovic. He doesn’t evoke that kind of emotion. Numbers and statistics are the biggest compliment you can give Djokovic, but numbers don’t do Federer’s game justice.

Giving the excellent pre-history narration is absolutely crucial for those who have no idea where Roger was at at certain points in his career. Anybody can just load some highlights, or a match, give it a title, and call it good. What we see here as events and turning points is only the manifestation of the awakening of what was within the essence of the human being in this case it is Roger Federer. The manifestation of the awakening can also be seen in his time not in direct competition on the court, such as, practice time, the coaches he selects, the decisions he makes in his personal life, including the people he surrounds himself with, including his main squeeze (partner in life). These are all involved, what is hidden is the "knowing substance" or 'undifferentiated potential of consciousness' that is being shaped and was shaped by all the major decisions and sometimes even by seemingly trivial decisions he made. A clue to this can be seen in the Buffalo Springfield song "For What It's Worth" which says "There's something happening here" (the relation of what is manifesting to that which is in us that is our hidden and unmanifest potential). "But what it is ain't exactly clear....it's time we stop, children, what's that sound; everybody look what's going down" (manifesting in our life). In other words, each of us can stop and ask what's that 'sound' that's coming down (coming down can mean becoming manifest from the unmanifest hidden potential; in the inner traditions, it is said that it is 'breath itself' that carries the unmanifest into the manifest and that by allowing the breath itself, we can learn to choose the way we wish to travel in this life). We may not yet know that we can attune our decisions to that 'sound-sense' and so atune our outer life to it also. Rumi put it this way: "We are the flute but the music is Thine". What this music is and from where it originates is possibly the greatest mystery we are given in this life. Listen first in silence (the energy of silence, the essence of all the energy of life and our very is life, is the spirit hidden behind the manifestation of our life. Then we may be allowed to hear and see and take the decisions that will allow us to travel the way we wish for ourselves and others in this life. We can bring about the the reality of love that has its own intelligence and compassion into this life of ours on earth as it already is in the dimension of the unmanifest.

As Fed fan it's just so cringe when people keep calling him the goat :/
There's really nothing wrong with being the 2nd/3rd greatest tennis player in history :)
It's just so disrespectful to Novak. Give the man his title 🐐 👑

@TvRF Novak is purely the statistical goat? In sport decidet counts and not words.

@TvRF tennis is not a miss universe competion , where elegance, beauty, popularity is importanT AND where the jury decited it. So decited now all the federer fans jury who the goat is?
Which football team is the GOAT in football. REAL madrid or fc barcelona? Of course real madrid and why because he won the most CHAMPIONS LEAGUE Title and LA Liga title. Imagine now would come and fc barcelona fan and WOOULD desperatly says like the most federer fans says, today that fc barcelona is the GOAT.
Sorry but on the court is the true and not your wishfull thinking. I KNOW its hard for your fedfans ; BUT YOU MUST LEARN TO Loose like mens and not search for everything a execuse like bad looser. THERE IS not more worse thing in sport then bad looser

Hot take - Roger Federer is the second best clay court player of all time. It's not surprising at all he won a clay court 1000 as a teenager. We just take his clay court tennis for granted because we're comparing it to Rafa's.
