Probably THE global icon of all time m But it was clear from some of his insecurities that even he had a hard time remembering that. It's one thing to see adoring fans lose their minds over your mere presence. It's another to actually accept or emotionally believe it. I love MJ just as much as the next fan. But I always got the sense he was chasing a validation that he just couldn't grasp he already had

I brought the Thriller album in the Summer of 83 after saving all my money and always remember laying in the living room and looking at the ceiling and thinking that this is one of best jams ever ever made! Amazing. I think thAT it is a great sign of humility from Stevie to let his chorist to sing the whole song. A great artist doesn't need to be always the protagonist and leaves a space, so that everybody is able to show their talent and shine on the stage.

Instead of singing the lyrics himself he decided to play the harmonica instead and let the crowd and his other singer sing. That's how much respect he's got for MJ that he might believe that he wouldn't have been able to recreate his voice true enough, but the passion from the crowd would.

The way Stevie can project his soul into his harmonica playing is truely supernatural. His vocal footprint is unique
as you could listen to/watch this song blind folded & know it was stevie blowing. It was the same thing with Louis Armstrong & the trumpet or Miles or Dizzy. its as though these 'instruments' become vehicles that vibrate & resonate at the same frequency as the artists' soul. This creates an aural signature that is instantly recognisable when it hits the listeners' ear drum. its as it the Harmonica is an extension of Stevie himself - This is absolutely incredible! thanks for posting!!

Well.. not really. There is no such thing as heaven or god.. It's just like santa clause, easter bunny, tooth fairy.. Just made up fairy tale bullshit so we aren't afraid to die and so we have a false idea that those who passed before us are with us.. It's complete nonsense. When we die, we are simply a piece of meat that rots. But MJ would have loved it if he was still alive. He was a terrible drug addict and refused help.
