4/12/2024 Wow. Nobody covers Zeppelin in front of Zeppelin, let alone have Robert Plant get emotional, and the band give a standing O at the end. This is incredible.
I think its the fact the song they wrote is being performed in honor of them so many yrs later. Dude is holding back full on weeping. That clutched hand
Led Zeppelin are notorious for not exactly loving it when people cover their songs. So the fact that they’re smiling like this, and Robert Plant actually cries, just goes to show you how incredible this arrangement of the song really is.
@@sidewinderenigma That's exactly right...Plant said that on a show he was just telling Page that they should've invited Jason, and then he appeared on stage.
I think this is actually better than theirs. They have a full orchestra behind them. Zep are better with their instruments (Nancy is excellent, but... Jimmy Page? Who is better than him? There are contenders, but the only guy I definitely put ahead is dead 50+ years) but Ann's voice is better than any of the boys.
Can you imagine, Jason Bonham covering one of the most iconic songs of his dad’s career and being watched by his dad’s former bandmates. How much emotion must have been running through his veins.

I've watched this video 10x at least & I think the most addicting thing is really watching all their expressions listening to it. So many real true emotions on their faces. I'm forever a Led Zeppelin fan ❤ ✌
I actually agree with your opinion. I felt that too. And watch letterman interview after the award show!! I believe we are spot on. You will see!!!! ☮️👍🏽💯👋
Lot of tragedy happened to Plant while in the later stages of the band. He's great about his time in the band, but it was over before he was 30, and I'm sure it's not an easy place to revisit, nor living with the legend he created, which was largely out of his control at the time also, as well as into eternity.
Absolutelyvthe best heart moving tribute thexwilson sister knocked it right out of the building, even Robety, John and Jimmy were spirituality and emotionally moved❣️wonderful tribute to the drummer having his sin play! The thought that went with this performance, top❤ notch!!❤❤❤❤
Yes, it was because of Jason. The only drummer who could play "Stairway to Heaven" by Led Zeppelin correctly was the original drummer, Jon Bonham, who was Jason's father. This song requires control, finesse, and complex drum arrangements. Phil Collins attempted to play it during the Live Aid concert in 1985 to help the band get back on tour, but his performance failed terribly, resulting in the band never playing again. Therefore, for Jon Bonham's son to perform flawlessly in front of the band was an incredible sight to see. It was a true tribute to his father in many ways. Rest in peace, Jon Bonham.

This woman has got balls to play such an iconic song in front of one of the most iconic bands in the world and not only that, play it right, and hit a chord deep enough to make these guys emotional. Kick ass woman!
Im thinking only Ann and Nancy and of course Jason could have pulled that off without wetting themselves and only Ann Wilsons big voice could have gotten up over that chorus! Robert Plant tearing up and pretending he wasnt haha. I wasnt sure what he was thinking til I saw that and then I thought "yea they got him"
This has been one of the songs that has gotten me through so many of life's hiccups. Lost loves, life's issues that kick you in the head. My beloved Mother died a few months ago and this amazing version has brought me some solace. Thank you ladies for your amazing performance.
This version is better than many I’ve seen, including by Zeppelin themselves. Very powerful, with orchestra and choir. It’s elevated way beyond “rock song” to the land of Musical Masterpiece.
I'm sixty years old now, I've heard "Stairway To Heaven" covered by many, many bands. I thought none could ever capture the essence of the song or the band, but I was wrong. Hearing Heart perform this, watching Jason play, Robert's tears, and watching Jimmy and John react to this? I'm shedding a few tears myself. This is absolute magic.
I can't begin to imagine how they were feeling, knowing they wrote it, and have played that classic many many times. And then to hear it played back with heart felt perfection and passion, must have been a real joy and honour for them.
One of the greatest Live musical performances in history. There are pieces of music which somehow transcend the individuals who created them and possess an incredible force to move and unite 1000’s of people simultaneously. Stairway is one of those Masterpieces.
Why does this rendition of the song bring a 63 year old grown man to tears. Perhaps it's the greatest song ever written, and to see it being performed in such a magnificent way and watch the originators enjoy it so.
It's that choir. Phenomenal. And their reactions at the end when the large choir comes out is great, they were like little kids. It was so cool to watch.
This was my dad's favourite song, he would always listen to it, every morning he played it. Naively I knew this would be his funeral song one day, in a long time I hoped. After a 5 year battle with cancer, last month, as i've always imagined, we played it during his funeral. This tribute song will always hold the biggest place in my heart as I will always feel his presence when listening to it. I love you dad, can't wait to listen to it together one day.
My favorite...your father has amazing and spiritual sense that a lot of people are not capable of having. I'm sure he is listening EVERY SINGLE TIME you play this LOUD and CLEAR!!
So sorry for your loss. This too will be my funeral song in many years to come I hope . But it’s spiritual haunting and almost in my dna. Part of my life.
Fun fact: they're all mortal (have more self confidence). Also, how often do they get to just kick back and truely enjoy their own song performed so well?
@Mark Rondson That nerd as you call him is Craig bartock, one of the most respected session guitarists in the music industry. Why the fuck would you do a copy and paste of Jimmy's solo? He put a bit of himself into the solo. The iconic solo that Jimmy plays on the record was one of many desk takes that they took on the day, and Page fucks around with it himself with almost any live performance you can find. It's a solo you drip, it's meant to be a moment of musical expression. Not something you can learn parrot fashion and pretend you're Jimmy. Only teenage boys with no idea about improvisation would make a comment like yours. Go and practice more and stop embarrassing yourself.
This is why we should always pay tribute to people when they´re still alive. The joy and the emotion on their faces are priceless.
You’re right. Tell people now you revere them, adore them, love them, and are thankful for them.

me too
You, me, Robert....beauty takes us all, it's undeniable.
Ditto. :-) Merry Christmas.
That guitarist had to play one of the most legendary guitar solos in history directly to the man who wrote it. No pressure god damn
I thought the same thing.
Que. Voz linda boa homenagem led zeep canta demais
Perfect rendition. As you said, I cannot imagine the pressure!
Would love to see that too..
He's Shane Fontayne... legendary guitarist who has been on so many albums. Perfect pick for this!
Jimmy was reliving it. I saw it in his smile. ❤
Ann and Nancy really rocked that song 🎵Amazing show. 😢 not a dry eye. So glad we grew up with this music. Beautiful. 70s were the best times of our lives. Thank you ROCKERS. ♥️
The sheer amount of balls it takes to play a Led Zeppelin cover in front of Led Zeppelin.
This is only the finale of a half hour musical Tribute
I am sooo glad it was Heart
SI
These ladies were on a whole new level with this version. Absolutely gorgeous version and a true appreciation and respect of the band and this song
it takes none apparently!
The fact that the drummer is John Bonham's son makes this tribute more magical.
I agree this
Wearing his Dad's bowler hat and playing a set of John's drums
Amen to that
Love . if you only knew....
thats cool i didnt know
The best thing I have heard in YEARS!!! I needed this song more than I knew.
4/12/2024 Wow.
Nobody covers Zeppelin in front of Zeppelin, let alone have Robert Plant get emotional, and the band give a standing O at the end. This is incredible.
Robert really looked like he was reliving the best and worst memories of his life as those lyrics were sang so beautifully back to him.
Fantastic tribute to Led Zeppelin. Good job ❤
I though the same thing. I recall he lost a child early in life and I could almost sense that loss in his eyes
I think its the fact the song they wrote is being performed in honor of them so many yrs later. Dude is holding back full on weeping. That clutched hand
.ö,pmmml
They stole this song
this is not an exaggeration this is one of THE BEST performances of all time
My eyes tear up every time I listen to it. Just like Robert Plant did. It is just an amazing version.
Hi yes" the charly" thank you beautiful"??? Good "???

🎯
This song goes down in history! She / they, did a beautiful job with it. Not an easy task.
get on your feet people thats a once in a lifetime moment right there!!❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥 fvcjing HEART man ..godamn thats amazing
Led Zeppelin are notorious for not exactly loving it when people cover their songs. So the fact that they’re smiling like this, and Robert Plant actually cries, just goes to show you how incredible this arrangement of the song really is.
agree 1000%.
John Bonham''s son on the drums probably adds another huge emotional edge to it as well.
He's sincere
How much emotion must have been running through his veins.
jason is this bad.
Man, when he gives that little look skyward at 5:48
Jay is a amazing drummer I swear he channeld his dad during this
I know it did thru mine, I cried big
U took the words rt out of My mouth. Just chilling 12;52 am. 3-10-22
I'm hard core Black Sabbath but Zeppelin really had something special too. I respect the way Jason Bonham did his own thing to honour that beautiful performance. That really was amazing.😢
I've been listening to this every day for weeks just to feed my soul with this performance of perfection.
Fancy playing the greatest guitar rift of all time in front of its creator that takes some nerve and he did it flawlessly. still watching in 2024
Yes" es x que lo escuche cuando era niño" the charly"??? El ohido nunca miente" ho percusion del sonido segun my forma de interpretar los sonidos de voz y de instrumentos de los que tocan " los instrumentalistas "???pensaria yo"???
Sheldon Cooper is surprisingly good guitar player
I thought so to😂@@JReykdal
Hats off for him !
No he didn't wtf? He played the solo wrong and it sounded terrible, Robert plant was probably crying cause of just how bad that guitarist messed up one of the most iconic solos of all time
Can we just sit a minute and celebrate Ann Wilson´s incredible voice?
That's what i'm doing now.
Schwing
to use use a "modern" phrase in the old time true sense, her performance was epic. Fckn epic, tears in the eyes, gooseflesh on the skin EPIC
you got my vote.
I'm glad I'm not the only one finding this in this day and age.
Brought chills down my spine. Always loved this song. Heart and all the singers did a wonderful job. I loved seeing Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones looking clean cut and handsome.❤
I've watched this video 10x at least & I think the most addicting thing is really watching all their expressions listening to it. So many real true emotions on their faces. I'm forever a Led Zeppelin fan ❤ ✌
Plant looks like he’s only just realised how momentous this piece of music they put out into the world is.
I actually agree with your opinion. I felt that too. And watch letterman interview after the award show!! I believe we are spot on. You will see!!!! ☮️👍🏽💯👋
I think he was remembering all the pages of his life and this is the finale of sorts
Such a perfect comment. Thank you.
The same thought crossed my mind - or at least he didn't fully appreciate it until this performance.
Lot of tragedy happened to Plant while in the later stages of the band. He's great about his time in the band, but it was over before he was 30, and I'm sure it's not an easy place to revisit, nor living with the legend he created, which was largely out of his control at the time also, as well as into eternity.
I don’t know if anyone could have done this with the same amount of grace and power that Heart did it with. Those ladies ROCK
Absolutelyvthe best heart moving tribute thexwilson sister knocked it right out of the building, even Robety, John and Jimmy were spirituality and emotionally moved❣️wonderful tribute to the drummer having his sin play! The thought that went with this performance, top❤ notch!!❤❤❤❤
of "nailing it" could be personified - this is it.
True. They were an amazing addition to the song!
@❤maryleemiles3085
Jimmy Page had called Nancy a guitar goddess, and all three of them said afterwards that they couldn't imagine anyone else doing it.
Literally the world's greatest band! They changed music for the better❤
Absolute best cover EVER, HEART just Delivered......give it up Rock Fans,!
Who could of , or has Done it better?
The Wilson sisters KILLED it! BEAUTIFUL! Robert Plant and Jimmy Page were in TEARS!
BEAUTIFUL!!!
It was because of Jason.
AND both would be quick to state "What the hell did you do to our song" ... BOTH with tears tells you how they feel.
Robert Plant was in tear because he was missing his dear friend John Bonham. He admitted as much in an interview with Howard Stern.
Ann & Nancy Wilson have been performing Zeppelin's songs for years! Decades! It's no secret Heart is the only band to pretty much nail Zeps songs
Seeing their faces during the song, I could only imagine the memories that were going through their minds, it brought a tear to my eyes.
I mean it moved Robert Plant to tears so that speaks volumes to me. :)
@@aboundingvampirekiller2048 He said that at that moment he was thinking about Bonham.
People who let their feelings get involved with the unreal (the past) can nver be happy. Enjoy the Here and Now...why it is called the Gift or the Present
Love it!
Bonzo;-)
BEST VERSION EVER!
10,000 years from now people will still be doing covers of this song. Simply amazing piece of music.
I don’t think it’s hyperbole to call this one of the greatest live performances of all time.
it really much is tho
watch comfortably numb pulse live for a life changing experience
Seen them in a little tavern in Tacoma,$1.50 cover charge many many moons ago
No only the best live performance, but without a doubt, the best cover!!!
Only Jeff Lynne could have did it better! Awesome!
Props to the guitarist for his courage, and for nailing it in front of Jimmy
True courage.. holy crap!!
You know he had to be absolutely crapping himself before going on stage
true but wasn't it shane fontayne who has played with almost anyone who is anyone so he was probably less phased than most.
@@benjaminclark6474, how are yours, big man?
@@benjaminclark6474 you should consider seriously the option to change pusher !!!
My dob is 01/03/1958........I'll watch this 'till the Great One calls me to his side. Great to recognise the Great rock groups of the past & some of them still alive. Long Live CZcams❤
I'm 57 this was my 1 st.album for my 13th birthday absolutely loved it another brick in the wall
"We're going to play stairway to heaven in front of Led Zeppelin everyone, no pressure"
Imagine being on that stage looking up and seeing that reaction from Jimmy at 4:24
And Obama
And Yo-Yo Ma
something tells me ol' roberto plant "wasn't happy" how do i know ? when both of his eyes were looking in defferent directions.. !
lol
And do it better
This woman has got balls to play such an iconic song in front of one of the most iconic bands in the world and not only that, play it right, and hit a chord deep enough to make these guys emotional. Kick ass woman!
No other girl R&R band but Heart could do this song like what just happened here. 👏👏💐💐💯💯🕊️🕊️💥💥
The reason she's a woman is ... she has no balls.
Kick ass musicians, regardless of sex.
Even better: she has ovaries 😅
Well, I mean, that is Ann Wilson. so, yeah!
Absolute goosebumps when that choir kicks in
ARGUABLY ONE OF THE BEST COVERS OF A SONG IN ROCK HISTORY
IT SURELY WAS HEARD IN HEAVEN, LET THE ANGELS DECIDE...
I know that's a zeppelin song but Ann Wilson made that song hers that night. Much respect.
@Hello there, how are you doing this blessed day?
Jesus, I haven't experienced that level of goosebumps in a long time. Incredible performance of one of the best songs ever written.
I come back just for the feeling never gets old
Это супер станция по энергетике для меня
I could only imagine what it was like being there!
Same, fam.
Discovered this a few years back, every few months I return for another dose, it does not get old, it never will... 💜
Beautiful rendition of a beautiful song. Robert is so touched by it!
This is sublime, profound, pure brilliance, more than music...crying - yes, but ''not all tears are evil'' 😢😥😍
Playing that solo in front of Jimmy Page. No pressure.
Yea.. and one or two other persons of minor importance..
@@myself3209 of course theyre important, i dont think @claes Fjellstrom was saying they werent, hes just making a joke
Im thinking only Ann and Nancy and of course Jason could have pulled that off without wetting themselves and only Ann Wilsons big voice could have gotten up over that chorus! Robert Plant tearing up and pretending he wasnt haha. I wasnt sure what he was thinking til I saw that and then I thought "yea they got him"
Sheldon did a good job
Amazing ❣️
Nancy Wilson is truly an underrated top flight guitarist.
super crisp playing.
She is way past amazing!
Wholeheartedly agree
Yea that family oooozeeess talent.
And who else but Ann could do this song justice? This was awesome, great to have this one pop up.
@@wenmar3837 I can’t think of anyone
Quite possibly the greatest cover of one of the greatest songs every written, performed. Absolutely flawless.
This has been one of the songs that has gotten me through so many of life's hiccups. Lost loves, life's issues that kick you in the head. My beloved Mother died a few months ago and this amazing version has brought me some solace. Thank you ladies for your amazing performance.
I've rewatched this probably 100+ times and every single time I burst into tears
same
You might want to go into therapy
honestly i think the people who watch this and DON'T burst into tears are the ones who should be in therapy
Me too, crying 😭 right now. RIP Bonzo❤
Me too
No one could ever sing Starway to Heaven as good as Led Zeppelin, except for Ann Wilson from Heart. Beautiful just Beautiful.
100% right. No one has ever sang it as good as Heart. No one ever will. And for Heart to do it so well, is a great honor indeed.
This version is better than many I’ve seen, including by Zeppelin themselves. Very powerful, with orchestra and choir. It’s elevated way beyond “rock song” to the land of Musical Masterpiece.
@@markdaniels7174 If I were in my death bed and down to my final hour, I would request to hear Heart's version of Stairway one last time.
God bless her
Makes me cry 😭😭😭😭
Oh Man…just speechless. Heart, Nancy Wilson…just phenomenal!
This performance is very humbling, it's very human. Bravo.
I´m totally with you. Heard this few minutes ago for the first time and can´t hold back some teardrops.

I hear you brother, it’s such a moving performance.
Totally I actually just loved it I'm almost 60 and need good music too
You ALL forgot the Far Coperation "RePlay". But i agree.
It takes balls of steel to play that guitar solo in front of Jimmy Page
The smile on his face...
It sure as hell does!
And he LOVED it. It doesn’t get any better.
Not realty, have a word.
@@karlbaker9153 Who is the guitarist?

And a piece of art!
I witnessed Greatest Rock Band Led Zepplin 1975 at The Forum in Inglewood Ca…John Bonham Mind Blowing 🥁 💯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Exactly!
This was missionary at best
And tears to this 72 year old grown as well.
It's that choir.
Phenomenal.
And their reactions at the end when the large choir comes out is great, they were like little kids. It was so cool to watch.
Ann said Robert Plant told her she made him love the song again in that moment. That alone would bring him to tears.
I would imagine seeing his deceased bandmates son perform in the drums contributed to it.
I’m 25 and seeing this for my first time… tears this way too!!
almost 10 years later I still send this to people when I'm drunk.
and sober 😂
That is exactly why I'm here! Kashmir's next!
Just like Me...... a drunk with “ good taste” 🤣
Love this tribute!
Haha same as me 🤣
Music nowadays just don't compare to the music we grew up on.
Blasting this song on the back of the bus in the 80s I can watch this video twice a day . Thank you for making this happen.
Sending all my love, sweetheart.
So sorry for your loss. This too will be my funeral song in many years to come I hope . But it’s spiritual haunting and almost in my dna. Part of my life.
Love is forever! When you hear this song think of him and smile!
For you will be with him again✝️
So sorry for your loss ❤️🌺❤️
can anyone imagine the pressure they felt, performing THIS song infront of the original performers? they did a fantastic job. wow.
Big time pressure!!
No preasure at all am sure She is Ann Wilson and that it 😇
They unequivocally nailed it!🙌
They all did an amazing job on this song. Just wow!!
HEART r legends too , so they can bring this song in equality and quality and with full confidence
This is the most amazing rendition of the song. Heart killed it!! ❤
My wife and I saw Heart last Monday in Savannah...they didn't play Stairway but they did play Going to California and The Ocean....awesome.
Playing an iconic Jimmy Page solo like this one right in front of him on purpose takes more balls than a mortal human should possess
Fun fact: they're all mortal (have more self confidence).
Also, how often do they get to just kick back and truely enjoy their own song performed so well?
But when it's as fantastic as this version is no wonder they have the bottle!
@@colinjohnson3814 ....LIVING LEGENDS.
Jimmy Page: "I was blazing the guitar before you were born kid. Let's see what you got."
Also Jimmy Page "Damn fine job kid. I approve."
