Actually it probably wouldn't have worked, since Jan bans Shedinja from all of his runs. He does allude to how broken it could be, but he never talks about how best to build or pilot a shedinja team

Honestly, I don’t think this even qualifies as cheating. He didn’t hack/break the game, abuse glitches or enter cheat codes. He just devised a strategy with a dude…
6:07 Community notes:
You do not necessarily gain EVs on level up, you gain EVs according to the Pokemon you just killed. So you can get a lot of EVs before you level up. They are capped at 255 total, so like 60 in one stat 60 in another, etc. etc.
You need to level up for the EVs to actually be applied to the pokemon though. Isn't that a thing?

@@Razsac yeah, they changed it in gen 6 I think because Prior to that people couldn't apply EVs at all to level 100 mons, including event mons like Arceus. Now they get them instantly, no leveling required.
@@Razsac :0 didn't know that damn. Only time I was able to check my EVs was in ROM hacks which worked on gen 6+ logic. Interesting way to do it Pokemon company, keeping track of it until level up instead of just applying them then and there.
A small addition. Ev caps at 252 from gen 6 onwards and you can at most max out ev for two stats. The total cap is 510

Just a quick correction. You gain EVs for every pokemon you defeat, not only when you level up.
I am pretty sure those stats only get applied when the pokemon levels up in the earlier games.
@@Lu6ky technically not, since stats also update if you put a Pokémon in the box, but generally you only get the benefits from the EV’s gained throughout the level as you level up. (Provided you didn’t box the Pokémon mid level)

You gain EVs for each defeated Pokémon, for level up you gain proper stats from the EVs

Just for clarification at 2:40 In Pokemon Emerald the first wally victory road fight is at the beginning and the rematches are at the end and in ruby sapphire all wally fights are at the end of victory road
