Oh yeah, I've heard of that one! I even saw somebody make a 1:1 scale model of Mount Everest using it, and the slopes of snowy Minecraft blocks kept descending downward, and more downward, and more downward. It was crazy
Maybe I should use that to build Uranus and all the others? It would be nearly impossible to see the whole planet at once, though!

ohhh yeah I've heard a bit about Amulet, and it looks very visually similar to MCEdit! I haven't tried it yet though. Are you able to run Python scripts in Amulet? If so, I'm sold!
@@carykh Looks like it! I haven't played with it myself, but it seems that their main site has links to a built-in python API.
@@carykh Amulet uses a modular editor that can be easily extended. If it doesn't support it, you can probably make it support it.

You do realize you can just select an older version of the game from within the launcher, right? Almost every version ever released is still available from the launcher. You may need to separate certain files, but it'll still work.

I would really like to see a continuation to this series. If you want to do more coding stuff with this, I'd highly reccomend searching out some of the modding commmunity (modding community, people who play with the code and write mods, not modded community, people who play mods/write compatability code for the mods they keep having to port to newer versions) on places like discord. While you would have to move from python to java (cause... It's java edition), and it does take a while to learn how to code for the game, you can definitely make code to generate structures like this.
Also, you could just find a new editor, or edit an older world with MCedit, and then update it once you are done (the minecraft launcher lets you run older versions quite easily).
I remember that minecraft earth map. I think i either played it myself or saw that video, but it was so cool!

This is awesome Cary! I’ve always wanted the download link for these, and after years you’ve finally done it! That’s also a thing off your list of videos. But I have a question, do you ever plan on releasing the assets of your flash stuff? Stuff like the SOTU2 assets, Tidepool assets (including Uber-evolved), and the pictures of All about the Mandelbrot set, just to name a few. This is just a question, do if you don’t want to or just can’t do it, it’s completely fine.

Amulet world editor is being made as a successor but it is still in development and only has a few features at the moment. Maybe in a few months it will have a lot more features.
People from back then delete their channels all the time. You make something when you're a kid/in your teens and then employers can still dig it up over a decade later. And some don't seem to understand how time works, so it's like "lol u spend your time playing kids games and uploading them to CZcams", "uhh that was 11 years ago", "lol but I found it on your CZcams channel, do you think playing video games is a good use of your time?", "again that was 11 ye-" "lol my kids play minecraft are you a kid", "again that was in the past", "but I can see it now", "yes...but..." "see i got u, ok so do you still play it", "not very often-" "lol so you do"
I have similar videos on this channel and an even older one elsewhere, although no employer has ever brought it up with me. But I've heard similar conversations to above from others. How kids growing up today are going to cope when the entirety of their life is online, and when they're 45 years old and an employer can say "thanks for applying, but we can see that 32 years ago when you were 8 years old you called someone the N-word in a CZcams comment, so we won't be going forward with your application". It's going to be absurd.

There is a mod called chisel, it lets you place single pixel sized blocks. I thought it would be handy for more videos like this.
