- The Eflite Carbon Z Cessna 150 is a really well built and fun plane to fly. However, it doesn’t come without it’s pain points.
The most prevalent is that “Awful” nose gear that is super annoyingly loud, and gets loose enough to turn completely to one side if you’re not careful.
Well, there’s a way to get it to stay in place. And this video shows simply how to do just that.
Also covered is how to replace the loud stock gear for Robart low bounce tires. - Zábava
Thanks man, I just got a used Cessna- I’ll get these tires and do the mod, can’t wait to maiden it!
Hey there Jeff, hope you’re enjoying that Cessna! I take mine to field every time I go out. It gets just as many flights as all of my jets. Thanks for chiming in!
Great Idea! I need to replace the nose gear on mine, I also have that wicked play, now I know how to resolve it! Thanks again man👍
Hey there Deuce! Glad to know it helps. I flew 6 flights a couple of days ago and it all worked perfectly. Still no slop after about 20 touch and goes and landings. But of course, that’s with landing on the mains first. There were a couple of landings that were close to 3 pointers, but I still don’t notice any slop in there. If it does eventually get loose it’ll just get tightened up again.
Good luck man and let me know how it goes!
ant i did a mod on mine too i changed the rod from the wheel to the se i used dubro wheels rvo with 256 rod and a quik conectoer on wheel end now its real easy to align the front wheel. i used dubro inflatables on the mains and a treaded dubro wheel on the front. last i installed a high torque servo for the front and wala, it solved all the problems and looks great. good luck and happy flyin lol
Michael Rajca do you have pictures of it?
@@luisorraca4742 i have take the front gear apart to show you.
Well done Ant. I'll look for those.
Flew the new wheels today and they work perfectly!! You’ll like the mod! 👍🏽
Works like a charm! Thanks!
So glad to hear it my friend, and have a great time with your Cessna. It’s one of my favorites!!
Hey Anthony, where are you? You are missed!
Nice fix !
Crimps are for inside an electrical box to tie grounds together (maybe not plumbing).
Just picked up one as well and trying to get NW straight is difficult. To adjust rod requires taking NW assembly out - turn rod and re-install.
Wonder if you had the same problem?
Still looks like a lot play on that wheel
Nice job, tell me what type of screw head that secures the wheel pants together, Thanks
Hey there Bill, I’m not sure of the exact size of the screw that holds the wheel pants on, but I’m still using the stock screw that came with the plane. I’m not sure if this helps you, but if you need to know the exact size I’d consult the manual, which may have it listed.
I hope all is well, and that your year is starting off filled with blessings!!
@@flyingant2557 Thanks for your help, Happy new year
What if you bend the nose rod that goes into the plane? Someone told me to use a little bigger piano wire. For the nose rod.
Sounds like a good option as well. I see others talking about it in the comments, but no one is posting a video or pics on it.
Maybe someone will provide that as another option. But my mod is working perfectly for me. Still to-date, no issues at all.
Ah, come on Ant! You send out a teaser and still won't let us see the F-4. What gives? I pray you and your family are doing well! Looking forward to the unveiling!!!
Hey Joe, thanks for chiming in. Yeah, sorry about the long delay on the vids. I’m assuming you’re talking about the F-18. I don’t have the F4, nor do I expect to get that one. But, you never know. 😜
Anyway, I’ll get that video out at some point, I promise brother!
@@flyingant2557 Thank you for the update. Yeah, I'm one of the old farts. When I think Blues, I think F-4. Looking forward to seeing it. Have a wonderful weekend!
