    This Channel evolves on different things. I just wanted to become a nurse vlogger.
    Start small and work my way through it. Most of the videos I uploaded are about helping others become a Registered Nurse here in the UK.
    How to live and work abroad, literally just showing my everyday life and struggles as a nurse.
    Living abroad means I have to leave my family back home.
    This is one way of updating them and showing them my day to day life. As said earlier, I am new to making content, that is why I post atleast once a week.
    Life is a bit busy and I am a full time nurse but I will try my best to upload more videos as often as I can. Rest assured these videos will be fun and enjoyable. And hopefully you'll join me on these journey.
    See you on the next vid!

I'll be glad if you can do a video on the various charts used in the OSCE. They're quite different from what we use here. I'm not alone..... Thanks

    Hello and thank you! I wondered about the patient reporting chest pain and score going from 3/10 to 5/10. Do you need to escalate or do anything further to rule out heart problems with the patient's history of MI / angina or because the vitals were normal (besides RR 21) it's okay not to do anything else?

    • @nurseniezl
      @nurseniezl  Před rokem +1

      As a nurse, we if the patient verbalises pain, then ask for the location, severity and intensity. Do something about it. Like verbalising that you'll give prescribed analgesia / or if the patient asked for pain killers then just verbalise it. Never ignore it, because if you do, the patient won't stop talking about the pain and you will lose time. So acknowledge it. The examiner will then let you proceed if you have dealt with the pain complaint of the patient.

    So do I write 3 in toll news score ?

    • @nurseniezl
      @nurseniezl  Před rokem +2

      Pain verbalised by the patient should not be scored in the NEWS2 Chart. As you can see from the chart, this is under DISABILITY (Conciousness) You can only score 3 in the AVPU if the patient is only responding to pain.

    With RR and Pulse do you actually verbalise that you're going to do it for 2 mins or do you actually do it for 2 mins because it seems a lot of time for that on a 20 min time limit

    • @nurseniezl
      @nurseniezl  Před 11 měsíci

    • @nurseniezl

      Only use PPE if the examiner asked you to do so, or at the beginning, ask the examiner if there's a need to wear apron and gloves throughout the assessment. If yes, then wear them until the end of the procedure, remove them once, you are finish. Follow the marking criteria when you have to wear and remove the PPE.

    why do you need to wear a gown and gloves?
    also, very confused about hand hygiene. are we allowed to document on our notes sheet throughout the procedure without performing hand hygiene every time? because that would seriously slow us down. my plan is to do assessment and document throughout, and then do hand hygiene and document on the pt chart

    • @nurseniezl
      @nurseniezl  Před rokem

      Hi there. you only get to wear the PPE (Apron and gloves) if the examiner asked you to do so. To answer your question about documenting with gloves, YES that is the case.
      On the other hand, if the assessor did not asked you to wear PPE, then do your hand hygiene every time, in accordance to the marking criteria and whenever needed.

    Hi Nurse Niezl, on disability do you use letter or dot to indicate your answers. I'm confused.

      No you can’t, keep telling yourself ‘You’ve got this’

    • @nurseniezl
      @nurseniezl  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Yeah! You've got this!!!! When you get into the room, once they tell you "Welcome to this station ,example: MSU,", think, what materials do you need, do you to patient first or prepare the materials now? ...Sometimes, knowing what to get first or where to go first, helps remind us of the whole scenario.
      and breathe...
      Hope this helps!🥰🥰🥰

      @nurseniezl  Před rokem

      It will all depends on you, I believe in the NMC, they accept the dots and arrow as you plot them in the NEWS chart. I still suggest to write the values. Just make sure it is inside the correct box. Hope this helps.

    I was wondering when we should escalate the NEWS score?
    I’m confused, it was told me if the NEWS score is more than 0 , we must escalate. Would you please clarify?

    • @nurseniezl
      @nurseniezl  Před rokem +2

      Yes.. we have to escalate according to NEWS 2 policy. I will be releasing an escalation video soon. So that would help when do we need to escalate.

      I am employed to do OSCE training for international nurses with my own trust. I don't do OSCE Training outside my job. I only post OSCE Videos to help pre-reg nurses pass their OSCE Exams.

    hello i think you wrote the systolic bp on 121-140 box

    • @nurseniezl
      @nurseniezl  Před rokem

      Hi there.
      I have wrote the arrow on 111-120 box.
      Then i wrote the values which is 112.
      If you remove the value (112) the arrow still says 112.because in the exam, they accept just arrow symbol for the systolic and diastolic.it's up to you if you're going to write the values as well.

    His news score is 2, so why not we are escalating?

    • @nurseniezl
      @nurseniezl  Před rokem +1

      As a nurse, if the patients have a NEWS Score of 2, which in this scenario is just his RR-22bpm, i will not escalate. Atleast not yet. I will have to repeat the OBS again after 30 mins to 1 hour.
