The UFC pays USADA. Of course there is a conflict of interest. In the beginning they took down a lot of UFC stars, and then all of a sudden they took a back seat for a few years, and now they only bust mid/low tier fighters. Or people they don't really see a future in. They don't bust superstars anymore.

Explains why Jon Jones was given every unnecessary benefit of the doubt by USADA. He's one of the greatest fighters and puts butts in seats, for him to keep testing positive for steroids, getting suspended and stripped was a terrible look. For two scheduled fights in a row there was the pulsing picogram situation which was honestly just USADA pulling the wool over the eyes of fans as Turinabol (the drug he kept testing positive for) doesn't pulse yet USADA very conveniently changed their testing so now they won't flag anyone who has less than 100/mg of an illegal substance inside them, even though its almost certain said fighter was caught with illegal substances toward the end of their steroid cycle.
Call me a conspiracy theorist, but its all a bit too sus and convenient for Jones and the UFC.

    • @kylerBD
      @kylerBD Před rokem +9

@@nikoc8968 Yeah I'm dead serious. The competition aspect is already not fair. Usada turning a blind eye, ufc possibly paying them off, designer steroids, which are likely what jon jones takes, I say that with confidence because for a few of his fights he literally has female testosterone levels, something which is completely impossible for an athlete like him, which is caused by suppressing your natural testosterone production via steroids. Also another thing I can quickly list off, bio-identical steroids, such as testosterone and human growth hormone. Both of which levels vary greatly person to person and are very hard to test for.
With all these massive and near impossible problems to fix, how can you possibly think testing is worth it? The only possible way to have a completely steroid free sport would be to have a machine that can read your brain and directly scan it for lying, which would have to be 100% accurate.
      Also, 2 final points
The people who physically respond extremely well to steroids are the same people who would dominate in a completely natural sport. People who are naturally very muscular or have great endurance naturally are the same people who respond very well to steroids, giving them an even greater effect from using them.
There are clear signs the top 5s in all the male divisions are juicing, but somehow, whichever way that may be they are getting away with it. So, what the fuck is the point in continuing to ban them? The only reason would be to continue this lie to lawmakers and politicians that this brutal sport is fair as it can be.

@@mockdr I'm not a reporter or anything, but I call it as I see it. I can't see my original comment for some reason, but here's the details as I understand them.
In 2016, Yoel tested positive for ibutamoren. He sued a supplement company named Goldstar Performance products over an alleged tainted supplement for $27 mil and won a default judgment, as the company never showed up to court. For a number that huge, not showing up is corporate suicide, especially since Goldstar wasn't a big company at all. (for the real freaks out there, the case name is YOEL ROMERO v. GOLD STAR DISTRIBUTION, LLC, in New Jersey, last updated in 2021)
They used to have a website, but that's not even around anymore. There was no way to buy products from a company that sells supplements. The pages all looped into one another. I actually had a web designer friend look at the code of the website and there was basically no way for the site to take your money. The number to contact them connected to another pharmacy entirely. You can't dig it up on the Internet Wayback machine either.
Look at their social media. Really look, not just scan over. Look at the dates. It’s all as shallow as a kiddy pool and never posts or gets engagement after 2018.
The timeline is very telling too. He fought with Chris Weidman and broke an orbital bone in his face on November 12th, 2016. He tested positive for ibutamoren, which makes you produce more Human Growth Hormone than normal. Derek from More Plates More Dates says this drug failure makes no sense because fighters have to cut weight and Ibutamoren makes you retain water. I contest that the substance makes sense if he was between fights and was trying to recover a broken orbital in a faster than human timeline so he can get back to training to prepare for his next fight in July 2017.
Since the lawsuit, the settlement has been reduced by over half in an appeal to a higher court. I'm too tired to read the 50 odd pages of court proceedings to figure out exactly how much and I'm reading conflicting things across news sites.
A reasonable person might imagine his management set up a fake company in advance of him testing positive for anything and then they put the plan into action when he popped. No hard sources and basically no coverage, but it is SUPER sus the whole way through.

The human body is not designed to fight like that for so many times in years, so I assumed from the start there might be some substances involved. Nevertheless, that does not take the talent of those fighters.
Why is this question important when looking at athletes and celebrities? People need to know the reality to set up their expectations when working for their goals. I am a 180 lbs person who works out daily and until recently I never found satisfaction in my training and I had moments when I quit bcs I did not see the progress as I had expected. After learning that these guys dedicate their whole lives without doing much else besides and have teams that deal on their workout, nutrition + alleged substances they take, I have learned to enjoy working out again.

One of the ways to avert many of these issues is to test for irregularities in cellular and organ/ system functions over a prolonged period of time, in which any non-explainable deviation (eg sudden increase in muscle growth or oxygen carrying capacity, etc) would raise flags for further testing/ scrutiny. If that makes sense.
Downsides to this would obviously be that this process is much more complicated and the pathological as well as physiological analysis is much more intensive compared to a simple blood/urine/serum antigenic/ chemical test. Also, figuring out a set of standardised criteria to track over a prolonged period will also require some thought.

They often start them off as young as 16 with the premise that they re giving them supplements/vitamins and once they re pro they dont care anymore cause they know everyone does it. The companies making the steroids are far ahead of the ones testing because they have to catch up to the new methods they thought of to avoid detection.
