- The Honda NSX is a massively RARE car to see. To see an Honda NSX is even more at salvage auction. This Honda NSX will never see the road again though. With a certificate of destruction, this Honda NSX has been deemed structurally compromised and unfit for road use again. That means this Honda NSX should be cheap then?
Well, the salvage auction is always a fickle thing! Even with a car as damaged as this Honda NSX, there are plenty of high value parts still left on it. Which means some parts yards are going to be battling it out on the bids to win this Honda NSX. We here at Lee C Parts come home with the winning bid on this Honda NSX. But, is it enough for the insurance company to sell it?

Covid definitely ruins it for me... thats when I quit buying rebuilds. It was cheaper to find projects on facebook.
U arnt kidding. Truly can find rebuild cars sometimes for what damaged cars sell for at auction.

Your right and as vehicle prices drop I believe the rebuilding industry is going to go really stagnant.
Insurance company gaming the auctions and still cranking our premiums. They can keep it.

The auctions went out of control when they opened up to international bidders. Also when they allowed brokers to let the general public buy from the auctions has screwed up the process. Fully licensed companies now have competition to bid from all corners.
Ur certainly right on a couple points there. I remember when we finally gained access to IAA with the proper licensing and it opened up so many more cars to us. Fast forward a couple years and we are buying far less because the money just doesn’t make sense on lots of them.
20k+ is crazy for a non repairable nsx, I have a feeling it will have a 25-30k buy it now sadly
This is the cheapest bid price I have seen on one in a long while. But, as predicted, insurance does want almost 30k. Lol

they may as well run it. its 3 free runs before they pay 35 a run. and you never know. like you said a parts only title doesnt matter to a international buyer where labor is dirt cheap. It killed alot of cars for me because they where swooping up stuff that should be scrap at top $. But overseas anything could be fixed, so they are def going to run it again.
Call the outer guy. You know who the other bidder is.

I have the same thought process. It’s new and exciting. After having to bid on it multiple weeks in a row, it loses the enthusiasm.
So now they have to pay auction fees, they could have taken the money and run. However maybe they hit their head on the desk and have become more stupid. Will be interesting to see what it will go for keep us updated. Merry Christmas to you and the Team
ok so u got anengine this is a honda so i asume its a common unit use in alot of other cars u got a trans and door cards dash seats etc but 29k rly that seems crazy

As another parts dealer(just motorcycle,small and over the pond, you can check my videos here).
I want to say that you are right with your pricing.
NSX is here in europe about 100 K dollar car.
I like to pay for parts bike 25-40 % of market value including fees which are insane in the US.
And as many people here stated and i also on your video 2020 ruined the prices.
I also have to pay more, sell less and buy less for part out, projects i stoped.
P.S. Europe is starting to suck heavy .... are you hiring ? :D
It sounds like u know the pain of buying at these auctions well! We are always hiring good people! Would love to add motorcycles to our inventory with some one competent to run it! 😁
Not going to go into my covid rant today lol ..... Insurance companies are making killer bank so they can afford to sit on them. Reserve auctions suck it is never an auction until after the reserve is met.
