The best part of this story was how the entire time Connor was complaining people were telling him he should consider himself lucky and to check his privilege. Meanwhile Garnt is over here living in luxury.

The room Conner got is most likely the cheapest kind you can find when you book a single room for yourself online which what me and my best dude got in our first visit to Tokyo in 2016, its just a room to sleep in not to LIVE in but even with that it wasn't nice at all, we learned our lesson and for the next trip we booked a room for both of us so we can have a little more space. Oh and there were actually cheaper hotel rooms and in better locations as well, there was a friggin studio apartments cheaper than that shit but they're always taken so you need luck to book one.
Also food, what Conner got is also real bad especially considering that YOU'RE IN JAPAN so there's good food everywhere that are also dirt cheap, Give the man the cheapest bento not this free shit companies give to their employees whenever the manager visits; which are always plasticy and tasteless!

I had to Quarantine when I was in NYC because I caught covid (My case was super mild, really was just slightly tired.) The city has a program where you can quarantine in a hotel, they pick you up, give you three meals a day, you can also order food too. The room they gave me had two beds so the size of it was pretty big. Had enough space to walk around, a big tv, a desk section and a pretty large bathroom. The funniest thing about the whole thing is that different high end brands donated items to the hotel, so when I left I got a coach leather bag for free. I gave it to my Aunt.
I had a similar experience in San Diego. Had two beds a massive bathroom and a decent sized balcony with chairs and a table that I could eat my food on if I wanted to eat outside. After my COVID symptoms went away after the first few days of my 14 day stay I was actually enjoying my time at the beautiful hotel doing absolutely nothing lmao. The food was great but just a little cold since the hotel was so damn big it took them awhile to get around. The laundry service was also really nice. Nice to see that our governments did us right!
@@angelulloa717 Did you stay in the Crown Plaza in MV or the Comfort Inn in Old Town? It wasn't too bad for me either but the isolation gets to you after the third day. No motivation to do anything and I brought my switch and gaming laptop. Couldn't play a single thing.

The difference is probably because Garnt's hotel was a high-end hotel before becoming a quarantine hotel for the duration of the pandemic. Presumably they maintained their quality of service even during quarantine.

I’m honestly reminded of the openings of Far Cry 3 and 4 when I hear Connor and Garnt’s quarantine stories. Connor’s is like Far Cry 3’s opening where the protagonist, Jason Brody, gets thrown in a cage by Vaas, the antagonist who threatens both him and his brother and Garnt’s is like Far Cry 4 where the protagonist there, Ajay Ghale gets kidnapped by the antagonist, Pagan Min, but is treated to lunch. I sincerely hope that neither Connor nor Garnt go on a murderous rampage against the department of health in Japan(though I think Connor is considering it after hearing Garnt’s story) like Jason and Ajay did against Vaas and Pagan’s armies but it’s just an interesting parallel.
This is on point observation actually. It was implied that Pagan and Ajay were close when Ajay was younger and in Pagan's care when Ajay's mom was together with him.
Ajay was basically a long-lost step-son to Pagan and he was, in a way, giving him a returning-prince welcome - thus, a royal treatment. And Garnt indeed got a nearly Royal Treatment right there.
Garnt sacrificed Connor's happyness to some kinda anime god, that's why he was so lucky and Connor had such a sht experience, I'm sure of it
