We started SwitchUp as we just didn’t find what we were looking for in what was already out there. There are some brilliant creators - but we enjoyed a more retro format like the old gaming magazines. Scoring 5 sections out of 20 to give a percentage score like the good old days! How smooth the switch version is it? I played on PS4 (still halfway into the story) , it’s a great game. But I’m worried about my experience with the switch version, can you please share some of your opinions? Thank you
@@rossonpan66 visuals took a hit big time, for me anyways since I've spent so many hours on the pc version.. frames are at 20 to 30 fps which is still in the playable area (not smooth but playable).. if you want this game on the go then no doubt the switch version delivers it for you..
everything else is still included so the experience is still the same.. You're not missing out on anything except for the visuals and a slightly watered down audio.. still very impressive in my opinion that this game even runs on the switch.. plus it's CDPR so its a must buy for me.. gotta support the cool devs as a sign of middle finger to devs that dont give a fuck to us gamers..

@@rossonpan66 yeah sadly.. load times tests pretty bit of your patience so I'm only using fast travels when traveling very long distances.. well, for me anyways since I'm on pc when I played this game back then.. I can't say anything about the difference on ps4 load times because I dont have one but I've seen some reviews that show its 10 to 15 seconds longer to load on switch compared to the ps4.. so yeah, it's a bummer..
Yeah, if they ak for 60€ for a game, they better put some effort in the port, this game probably pissed off many game publishers because it shows what can be done and puts to shame every sketchy port, this is more of a statement than a game, I have huge respect for cdpr and studio that ported the game.

Three games of recent years that gave me that feeling, Skyrim, Red Dead Redemption 2 and The Witcher 3.
The developer deserve my hard earned money for this astounding port and putting in their 200% effort unlike some other companies such as EA. Cant wait to play this on my long plane and train journeys. Thank you for such an amazing review.

Bought Witcher 3 on PC when it came out 4 years ago and upgraded my video card at the same time just to play. I would have never thought in 4 years time I'd have it on a handheld console. Visual downgrades aside, it's an absolute dream to play on the go. On my lunchbreak at work I can be exploring those ? on the map just like I did years ago while chained to my desk. Its a technological marvel and truly mindblowing that CDPR and Saber could bring this to a mobile console. 40 hours in and I'm still in disbelief that I have this game in the palm of my hands.
I’m so happy that I never played my PS4 version, just didn’t have the time, but now I will play the hell out of this version & it has all the dlc, this is insane!! 🤯🤯🤯🤯

I still can't believe they managed to fit this game and all the DLC on a 32GB cartridge. It's genuinely a technical marvel. I never thought I'd ever get to play this game on a handheld system without a streaming service, which have never worked particularly well. Knowing I can play this without any internet connection is amazing.
I know this is a very late comment, but did you not realize that the game is only 34GB on PC? I am looking at my GOTY edition folder right now. I don't want to downplay whatever they had to do to get it to run on Switch hardware, but the size of the Switch version isn't even remotely surprising.

Why does the game actually look so good? Makes me want to shame all the other ports or low quality games that blame the switch capabilities for bad games
Bruno Ribeiro you got to remember that MK11 is 60fps. It prob would have looked great if it was 30fps. 60fps is super hard to port over when the graphics are as good as they are in MK11
Bruno Ribeiro grid is a last gen game though. How would a game like project cars look? Would they need to make it 30fps? If it were 60 would it look bad?
@Bruno Ribeiro I agree that MK11 should've looked way better than it does now and the Switch is more than capable of producing stunning visuals, but I doubt that it was a rushed and a cash grab port. The developers were really putting their time and effort for this port unlike Capcom's and EA's ports and plus it doesn't look that bad if I'm being honest. It only looks bad when you compare it side by side with other platforms.
@@trentoinsano they already had Project Cars running on Wii U but cancelled due to poor performance (720p, 22 FPS on average). Switch should fare a lot better
As somebody who owns both MK11 on xbox 1X and plays in 4K and plays portable on switch
I think it's a great port
The only thing that bugs me is just the hair textures on characters
Other than that it looks fine and play smooth
The Krypt is the only downfall

I bought this today. Yep april 2022 and this is by far the best port switch has. Cdpr done a cracking job. Only had a switch about a month and this is the one channel I look to for reviews top job guys.
Breath of the Wild, Skyrim and now Witcher 3 available on one console...portable. I still can't believe it....🤯

The reviews for the port have been interesting. Jordan at Switch Watch thought it was a shoddy job which surprised me; I usually agree with him and everything I've seen of this game especially in portable play has been very impressive.
He didn't write that review though. It was one of their web guys do I think maybe he would have seen it differently - he's usually on point. Mark
It is shotty all the games on the switch in 2023 is shotty its a shotty system with shotty graphics shotty joycons with a shotty screen the switch would be good if it was 2013 before the ps4 or Xbox 360 was released 9 times out of 10 the switch can't handle a ps3 game at 60 fps they have to drop it to 30 and the graphics are pathetic all these douche switch reviewers are pathetic nintendo fan boys that are stuck in 1985 there's no excuse to buy a shotty switch in 2023 especially with steam deck and many other options that put the switch to absolute shame garbage system garbage company little kid games a eshop full of trash shovelware don't buy this crap

I was already sold , as it is the first time playing it for me.
Having baled from consoles half way through the ps3 era, the Switch has been a godsend with the array of top, top ports to catch up on , plus the big N's own offerings.
As it is my first console in years , I have nothing to compare these games to and so I am still blown away that stuff like doom and wolfie run on it and in my view look great.
I wish people would appreciate for what these games are like for Switch if you only have that as your source of playing games.
Just gone and picked it, but it will have to wait until later. It's so warm and sunny here at the moment , that I decided to take the long walk to the only chiringuito still open locally to enjoy a large g and t or two by the seaside.
I suspect that later I'll be playing it through one eye and the graphics will definitely look a bit fuzzy and a tad blurry!

As one of those very few who never touched this game before, at first I didn't like it, thought it was tedious and looked horrible. However, now, after a few hours in, I honestly consider it on of the best games ever made. So proud my countrymen crafted this masterpiece. Of course your review is great as always.

SwitchUp I actually am really enjoying it. I went first thing this morning and grabbed it at $10 off, so I’m glad I didn’t wait for a big sale (although I’ll be kicking myself if it goes on a huge discount like Diablo 3 did, when I got it at $17). Overall it looks great in handheld mode. Going to be a great experience (over the next year)!

Awesome review... But for me when I played this game . It wasn't diving for treasure that got me. It was Gwent. Love that card game. Even got the limited edition card packs for the expansions.

Bought the complete edition for £2.50 on (my PC) the frequent Steam sales. Got bored after 4-hours. Paid £29.99 for the Switch version, and I must've spent over 100-hours on it.

I was cautious as to whether or not the sacrifices would be worth it for this game - after all, it's the most ambitious port yet by some way.
I got the game due to your glowing review, and well, you're right on every point. I've only just got past the first Griffin fight, but I'm already completely suckered into the world.
Probably put in around 200 hours on this game when it first released and yet I have pre ordered for switch because I'm more than happy to put in another 200 + when playing it on the go

Black Flag comes in December, I wonder what Ubisoft will be able to do with it, now that Witcher 3 is (again) the gold standard.
It doesn't look better than assassin's Creed the resolution in this game is 540p and drops lower than that also the fps is not solid but to each his own.

I own this on ps4 bought in 2017. Played for soem hours didnt enjoy but now im going to be pkayingagain on switch and seeing how I feel.
The only thing I can think of that would make me more excited to get my hands on this would be cross-save support with GOG, the way Divinity 2 does with Steam. Being able to play the same save on the go on Switch and at home on PC would be a dream.
But that feels truly greedy given what they've accomplished here. Maybe they can patch it in someday.

9 out of 10, which I class as 90%.
They stated the graphic differences slightly more, which caused a bit of upset mate.
I’ll admit. I played it for the first time after watching the series on Xbox due to gamespass, but I just couldn’t stand sitting in one spot and playing it on a console. I bought it on the switch out of convince, and this is the most time I’ve put on my switch ever. Love it
Put 32 on the Xbox one and 98 on the PS4 with my pre-order of The Outer Worlds in limbo now for Witcher on the go. This may be my new hiking through the woods and tripping on random roots game. Albeit RE Triple Pack is enticing as I’ve only beaten RE 4 about 16 years ago on the Game Cube but have never experienced RE5 or 6...

You know this seems like a great series to get into if you really practice and learn how to play.. I tried to get into it on PS4 but it just felt weird stylistically especially after playing stuff like YS VIII and Trails of Cold Steel.. I’ll have to give it another go one day..

This is now the 3rd time ive perchased the game....ps4 first then i built a 2080ti pc and got it again and now on my switch! Its just such a good game!
They are holding a copy at my neighborhood Walmart and I am picking it up at the stroke of midnight 🤓 Beyond excited to play this massive game on switch at last! I just want to know how it feels to have the whole thing on one cart with no download... 🤤

Great job. This is a must buy on physical cartridge. Great value. Great game. Its amazing that it runs on this version of the switch and gets me excited to see if they tweak it later for a switch pro. Now the only question is which woman will I end up with this time? Or shall i have both?

can't say much about this, been playing the goty edition on ps4 and actually i'm amaze my old laptop can't play this yet switch have enough power to play this on good FPS. Go take this if you guys enjoy really long gameplay + marvelous story ~~
