There is something so enchanting about Sri Jayadeva's Sanskrit and the design adds so much beauty to it! 😍

The first two lines are in a moric metre named Saki in Marathi and seen plentifully in Marathi poetry. In Sanskrit, it is not a popular metre but Jayadeva seemingly loved these moric meters ( मात्रावृत्त). Yet another of Jayadeva's ashtapadi-s, which starts निन्दति चन्दनxxxx, has been recorded in Bageshri by Aminuddin Dagar, like Semmangudi, a candidate for Singer of the 20th C discussion. It was available on the internet many years ago.

This tune existed as a part of Nama Sankeerthana tradition...dont think its His tune....But he has presented it equisitely so Semmangudi'ishly 🙏🏼. All the 24 Ashtapadis have authentic classical tunes for generations now...
