    Where did you get the display for the gear selector screen? Did it come with the harness and computer? Trying to find that for my setup.

      Mine came with the kit from CAC. Now everything is integrated and works the stock gear selector

    Thanks for the video.... I was curious... I'm a little concerned with that bit of a flare before the harsh 3rd gear engagement... I wonder whats up with that?

      I’m not sure. It doesn’t do that all the time but most of the time it does. Maybe 3rd gear changes the range or something. Other than 3rd gear it’s amazing. The perfect setup

      @@stacyp4534 looks like it is stacking torque conv lockup as it hits 3rd. They do that under heavy load and the low RPM. One way to make that easier, would be pull down to manual mode and let torque conv lock then tap the upshift.

      CAConversions I need to call Dave. I think your exactly correct because the torque converter locks right before the 3rd gear shift. It’s way smoother now as I been really babying it and got that third gear shift as smooth as the rest. The only time it hits hard now is if I get onto the throttle hard and it locks the converter as its shifting to 3rd.

    • @stacyp4534
      @stacyp4534  Před 4 lety +1

      With 2 tractors and at about 32,000 pounds it does about 11 mpg at 76 miles per hour with less weight or less speed the mpg goes way up

    What's the rough 3rd gear shift all about? ANY word from ats about that?

    • @stacyp4534
      @stacyp4534  Před rokem

      I really don’t know but Supposedly it’s a shift inside the transmission from a low to high range or like a shaft change. The transmission was built to handle 1,000 HP with a GVW of 56,000 pounds at 100% duty cycle. I don’t know transmissions so I can’t say but it’s been several years now and it’s still exactly same.

      @@stacyp4534 I wonder if the stage 1 Allison's from ats do the same.
      ATS is about to release the kit for the early 3rd gens. I'm told should be ready by the end of this month.

      @@hey_youtubeim_back2159 I gotta say I have been extremely happy except for the leak I cannot find. I have had the transmission re-sealed, I’ve had the torque converter pressure tested, I’ve changed the transmission lines twice and I cannot find the leak. @@stacyp4534 are you using an external fluid cooler or is it the one that goes into the radiator? If you're using ELC coolant is it possible that the red transmission fluid is mixing with the coolant and you just don't notice it or is the league prevalent enough that you have to add transmission fluid on a regular basis?

      Aside from that I would check the top of the transmission for leaks out of the Overflow vent

    With lock up on the converter when your slowing down and hit your exhuast brake how long does the converter hold before unlocking.

    • @stacyp4534
      @stacyp4534  Před 3 lety

      The converter does not unlock until you get down to about 19 mph. When it shifts down it uses clutches in the transmission but after it shifts the converter is still locked in.
