The people of Bihar & Uttar Pradesh are one and the same in Trinidad and Fiji, but there are vast differences in terms of socialisation and evolution. By the time that the first ship carrying indentured labourers arrived in Fiji, the indentured ones in Trinidad were welcoming their locally born grandchildren. Trinidad also has a far greater mix of races than Fiji and was a far older established colonial society. The statement by Ronil Ram about conserving the mother tongue is indeed disingenuous.

Had it been pure hindi then no one can understand it properly as they do with heterogeneous mixture of languages.. U see that's how India is.. Unity in diversity.. And its present in all corners of the country and hence bollywood is not purely hindi either..
Tamilian as Indian as a manipurian.. If anyone insist on pure hindi then the industry will crumble.. For ex.. Train in hindi would be like loh path gamini.. And game of cricket would be "lamb dand gol pind dharpakad paratiyogita"
      Sounds funny 😁
In nutshell very few people know how to speak pure hindi or urdu as in either case the essence of communication is lost.. Hence we go for the accepted mixture of languages so that country goes on 😊

Bhojpuri were the most fluent in west Indian culture in t&t and is understandable by many . If you do not speak the language how could you understand it? So why ask the question ? After the division in 1947, Pakistan came into being, then divided into Western Pakistan the current Pakistan and East Pakistan the current Bangladesh. East Pakistan has been at war with Pakistan and has been assisted by India and in 1971 East Pakistan became independent of Pakistan. For 1947 only India and not Pakistan were involved. it is said that on 14 August net before midnight, Pakistan became independent. I'm not going with this. Pakistani was born on August 14, 1947. India became independent from England on August 15, 1947. Up to that date, India was a colony of England and was therefore called British India by those damn British.

Hindi (Fiji baat) is Fiji's one of official languages but it's bit different to Indian hindi. We can speak with any Indian like them...no issues there but if two Fiji people talk..it might be bit difficult for an Indian to get that due to lot of slangs n short cuts..eg Aap kaise hai..is kaise in Fiji. Kya kar rahe ho...is konchi karta..or ka karta or ka hoi. Fiji people dont us Ji or aap....only tum...n the list goes on. Also there are too many english and native words in a sentence.

Yes mostly Awadhi and Bhojpuri languages were the original ones brought by the Indians and shudh Hindi is now taught and learnt by the newer generations or those trying to reconnect with their roots.

I'm a Hindi speaker but that's not the complete truth. Tamil predates Sanskrit. There were more languages even in the India itself before Sanskrit. You're talking like the people of Indus valley civilization used to speak Sanskrit.

@mark vaz it's the age of information. Read beyond what is 'assigned' to us as Indians.

@mark vaz Your answer is the 'books of linguistics'. Just like to know about laws of science, you'd reach out to a physics or chemistry book; to know the science behind the evolution of languages, the best accurate source would be linguistics books written by the credible linguists.

Nobody in T&T cannot speak Hundi, you have lost your language for years.Because your generation came to the western world by the whiteman to work in their house,as their servants. So how you think the whiteman would be having people working with them, and they cannot communicated with you guys. They are going to forced your people to learned their language, so they can communicate with you and.Probeating not to speak your language because it is not good for you, just like the black people. But the black people hides their language from them, but they spoke it between themselves very often. So when they are communicating with each other, the whiteman could not understand what we were saying. But we passed down our native language to our children, so if you were born into our culture. You cannot understand our language more than the ordinary, the whiteman trying to trick us over the years. That we have spoken broken English,we know that it is not true.English is not a real language,it is a combination of several languages. That is why people having big problems with it, either to write,or to spelled some of the words.Because of translation from the various languages to the so-called language named English, because the original derived from Hebrew, down to Latin and so on to English.
