NIKON Z9 and 400mm f/2.8 F-mount - Golden Eagle - WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY II Bird photography

I photograph the golden eagle in a snowstorm at up to 25 m/sec. Later in the day the weather improved with sun but still windy which is perfect for eagles. Today I only had my Z9 and my 400mm f/2.8 lens because I needed as bright a lens as possible. Otherwise, I had intended to bring my 180-600 for better range. We went out in time in the morning to avoid most of the snowfall and it really was a heavy snowfall. About 10 cm came in the morning. Unfortunately, only one eagle came but it really offered itself. The eagle was in its third suit, which should mean that it was born around 2018. On the way home it was uneventful and it was an ordeal to get home.

Great video.Great pics! We get a few Golden Eagles in NY during the winter. Tough to get a good pic. Always to far or too dark during the winter (always cloudy lately).

Lots of fun...I do have a question about the z9 and eye focus, it seems to be behind the eye for a lot of the action. Is that because of a setting? Our Golden and bald eagles will begin setting on eggs soon. Cheers mike
