    Great video. I agree with your views on feeding the wildlife as long as it is done responsibly. Once you start, you owe it to the animals to continue. If you can't support that commitment, it isn't fair to start. Eventually, they will no longer be wild.

      I 100% agree with you and I also know that despite the hides being open for 3/4 of the year Dave puts food out 360 days of the year regardless of whether there’s photographers there or not.

    Smashing video Dan , I have been feeding garden birds fo over 50 years its such a joy . I took the back fence down about 5 years ago, a slope drops down to a burn via a strip of woodland, installed a few cameras picking up badger fox and local moggies, started putting peanuts on conservatory step and bingo, badgers feeding ever since . Still see badgers grubbing for worms on th woodland slope, it's magical, thanks for another wonderful video Dan , always look forward to seeing them 👍

    Dan once again a really great video, I agree 100% with your comments about feeding wildlife. Hide photography provides a safer option for the wildlife while limiting actual disruption to habitat, it’s a win win. The wildlife gets a small meal (nothing too much so they still have to hunt/scavenge) and the trade off is that you get a good photo without causing distress to the subject. Too many times do you hear stories about people disturbing vulnerable species like Long Eared Owls and Goshawks to get a photo at the expense of the subject. As always keep up the good content, looking forward to the next one 👍🏻

      @@danwillis_photography yes and unfair criticism at that. People just see it as a money making thing and don’t see how the setup is giving the foxes a chance with regular food supply to help feed them and their families. Off to Daisy Nook one day next week so looking forward to that 😃

    Brilliant Dan loved it, I agree with your views 100% we have pushed wildlife further and further away. Housing being built on greenfield sites, poisonous fly tipping I could go on and on. At least this way wildlife is still wild in its widest sense. Keep up the excellent videos.

    I think it is more sympathetic to feed the foxes than to hunt them excessively or to dig up the young foxes to eliminate them, as hunters do here in France.

  • @nickclaytonphotography
    @nickclaytonphotography Před rokem +1

    I'm with you Dan, nature needs our help. Farming, persecution, habitat loss, pollution & development has shrunk the environmental areas that the wildlife needs; & their populations are falling. Hunting still goes on in a major way too, which really disgusts me!
    Another excellent vlog my friend, full of foxy facts too - great stuff.
    To my mind, a little bit of 'supplementary feeding' isn't doing any harm. These animals will still hunt & feed themselves, they won't just live off a bit of chicken & a few eggs - they'll hunt rodents, bids, rabbits etc.
    For the knockers, you hit the nail on the hesd with the comments on bird feeders/food - I've had that debate nany a-time!
    Nice work Dan.
    Keep on keeping on pal!
    Best,
    Nick
