      Hi, I have a DV6- 2020sa. When I turn it on the caps/numb lock flash twice then a pause, then flash twice, etc. fans everything boots up but blank screen.. I read it could be a corrupt bios so I downloaded the bios image from the hp support website, extracted 3536F12.fd file and renamed it 3536F12.bin and copied it to the root of my flash drive as advised. plugged it in then held win key + B and turned it on. It fires up, after a short while I get two beeps then it just powers off and restarts. After that it just repeats the 2 beeps off.. Any ideas?

Somehow i first ended up deleting my some partitions....but at that time my bios settings were there. Then i tried booting with kali linux , but at that time (when i opened the bios settings) bios settings hanged, no buttons would work while bios settings were on....so i ended up removing my battery to fix it. Thats when my bios settings disappeared and screen got blank and i ended up with corrupted bios . Please helpme.

    My DV7 2140ed crashed during heavy workload, froze and never started up again. Ik get those two flashes (BIOS corruption). When I use the win+B / power button, the laptop will power off after 2/3 seconds, and nothing happens. It simply powers down (like it isn't detecting the keyboard, and only detects pressing the power button). Pressing (still holding the win+b) power will simply repeat the blinking LED codes... An USB drive formatted with FAT/FAT32 with the BIOS in .bin / .fd / .rom doens't work either, like it isn't detected. I'm fairly sure that the original drive with partitions is still intact. Any suggestions? Please help!

    When I download the driver from my HP 620, and follow the same procedure as in the video, the window where it give me the option to choose my USB flash drive doen't open. Instead it opens up a window that gives me the option to format the USB. btw I don't have any OS installed on the notebook HP 620 I want to flash the newer BIOS.

      @HPSupport  Před 3 lety +2

      +niki123489 Steps to restore the BIOS with a recovery flash drive:
      Power off your notebook and wait five seconds.
      Plug an AC adapter into the notebook.
      Insert the BIOS recovery flash drive into your notebook.
      Press and hold the Windows key and the B key at the same time, while the notebook is still powered off.
      While still pressing the Windows and B keys, press and hold the Power button on the notebook for two to three seconds, then release the Power button.
      Continue holding the Windows and B keys until the HP BIOS update screen opens.
      Click Continue Startup to restart your notebook or wait until it restarts automatically.
      At the BIOS recovery prompt, press Enter on your keyboard to continue loading Windows.

      @@HPSupport Thank you for the advice, but after I try this instructions, the laptop doesn't want to turn on. I hold the power button for 5 sec. then I pluged in the AC power. Then I do the holding the B and windows button thing and still nothing is happening. If I press the power button normally the BIOS is loading, but the BIOS from the flash drive doesn't want to work. It's saying "Non-System disk or disk error
      replace and strike any key when ready". I put completly new Toshiba 320 GB 100% working hard drive and I don't have OS installed. I tried to flash the drivers for the BIOS from the HP support website for the HP 620 model, but I don't know if I am doing it right. If you do not have a set or recovery media, then you can check out: HP PCs - Obtaining HP Recovery Discs or an HP USB Recovery Drive ( ow.ly/Z2kDz ), for how to get a set from HP if they are still available for your model.

    For the Love of God and Computing, why has HP Compaq decided to remove Driver Software Content and Pages from the official HP Website. Especially for my HP Compaq Presario C772TU? It appears especially cruel and unjustified that a running laptop without a stable BIOS has ZERO support from either HP the manufacturer, nor its motherboard INtel nor its BIOS developer INsyde. Anyone know of a solution, be sure to comment. And Yes I've already tried the WIn Key + B and Win Key + V restore BIOS options, but that doesn't seem to work. I'm thinking some way of getting the BIOS file from HP and then putting it on a USB storage may work?

I did hear a beeping sound, but I don't know what the meaning of it. it just beeping and the display still won't turned on despite the laptop already turned on. as the videos says, the display should automatically turn on and start performing the recovery, but not in my case. A system recovery completely erases all files, programs, and saved work on the hard drive. Always back up important information before attempting a recovery. If additional hard drives are connected to the computer, for example an HP Media Drive, disconnect the data and power cables from the back of the extra drive before performing a system recovery. This prevents possible data loss on the additional drive.

    I did this and it loaded all fine, but did not work and is still giving the blue screen with bios error. Anything else I can do? I can’t load from F10, it freezes whenever I try any option under advanced options, I did the battery unplug for an hour, I’ve tried it all and still no success. Any help would be appreciated! It’s an HP Spectre X360 15T.

      +Das Kemper There are many reasons that a computer does not start up or boot into the Windows operating system or displays a blue screen when operating. If your computer displays a blue screen, you will see or hear symptoms to indicate the general area of the problem. If you are not sure what the problem is, see one of the following HP support documents: hp.care/2oYIcKc
