- BIOS (Basic input output system) is the most essential software in all computer systems. It performs a power-on-self-test to initialize hardware and devices connected to the computer, as well as helps run the operating system. If the BIOS on your computer becomes corrupted, the computer fails to boot to the Operating system.
If your system already has an HP_TOOLS volume partition, then you can try the BIOS recovery by pressing, Windows, "B" and power key combinations. In this video, we will create, and recover BIOS using a USB flash drive. This method will be useful for the systems that have hard drive failure or no longer have access to the HP_TOOLS volume partition. For this to work, we will need an empty USB flash drive of at least 20 megabytes in capacity and a FAT32 file system.
The process is simple and easy to follow. I hope the video helps.

If support assistant is showing available bios update then may be their is new version available. You may try updating it from the support assistant.
I generally never felt any need to update my systems BIOS, unless there was any hardware compatibility issue, that needed BIOS update.

Basically for desktop computers, CMOS reset should recover the BIOS. The steps to reset CMOS should be available on the motherboard manufacturer's website for the motherboard model or series.
On the motherboard manufacturer's website you can find which keys take you to BIOS menu. And not all motherboards have Auto BIOS recovery or USB drive BIOS recovery feature. Specially in Desktop Motherboards.

UEFI requires USB to be formatted using the FAT32 file system. It is better to go ahead with FAT32 only. If the system doesn't give the option to format USB in FAT32 then we can use third-party software like Rufus.
Even if the system is not supported anymore, the HP website should have the last updated BIOS file for it. Otherwise, we will need to search on the internet for it with the exact model number of our system. But then reliability will be an issue.

Just BIOS recovery should not reset the BIOS password. The system board generally has password reset jumper for the job. Some laptops might reset the password on CMOS reset (along with battery disconnection). It depends on the system.

I own an HP Notebook 15-BS008NX Laptop. I decided to officially update the BIOS through HP Support Assistant. Little did I know that updating it is risky compared to regular Windows updates, even though the update is through HP. So, my laptop booted to BIOS update, and after a few minutes, the update got completed. I was shown a message that it would restart, and the screen might be blank, and LED lights would flash. However, my laptop's screen was blank with no backlight, and it's been more than 2 hours. I thought it might be stuck, and it was midnight. I was forced to turn it off. Later in the day, when I tried to turn on my laptop, it would turn on with a blank screen (no backlight), but the hard disk appears to run. Moreover, my laptop's caps lock, escape key, Windows key, and F4 key don't work. Is there any alternative? I need to get this fixed ASAP! All my important, very valuable data is stored in it. Please help out. Thank you.
Same thing happened to me a while back. Remove the CMOS Battery (not the main battery, but the battery on the motherboard which powers BIOS). Wait 10 minutes. Plug it back in and the BIOS should be back to default. You can search for a tutorial here on YT.

That's unfortunate. You may try connecting an external keyboard and try Windows + B key shortcut to recover the BIOS. For this shutdown your system. Then when its off, make sure to connect the AC power adaptor to your laptop. Then press the windows and B keys at the same time. Then press the power button and keep it pressed for 3 seconds. Then leave the power button. But keep pressed the windows and B keys. keep them pressed till your screen shows something or you hear a beep sound. Then leave the windows and B keys. This should start the BIOS recovery process.
If it doesn't work then you can download the firmware (BIOS) from HP's website. There you can find latest firmware. Go to support dot hp dot com. Then click on software and drivers. Then click laptop. You can let HP detect your Laptop (recommended) or below it, mention the model 15-BS008NX. It will automatically show you HP Notebook - 15 - bs008nx. Select it. Provide your OS details from the dropdown list and click submit. You will see BIOS-System Firmware. Click on it. It will list the firmware. Click download button next to the latest one. When gain download pop-up appears click on link to download manually. An executable name starting with sp will be downloaded. now run the executable. Now follow the steps as mentioned in the video to create the USB drive. then use that usb for recovering the BIOS.

There can be many reasons for getting no image including hardware. What we can do is trying trouble shooting from our side, before taking help from repair shop. I am ruling out the BIOS software issue as you have already tried resetting it.
1. Try to hard reset the system. Dont plug the AC adaptor. just press the power button for around 20 seconds. Check if any thing pops up on the screen.
2. If power is going in the laptop then we can try connecting an external monitor or TV using HDMI or display port. If we can see the desktop on the TV then we can rule out graphics related issue. It might be display issue then.
3. If the back panel of the laptop can be accessed then, we can try disconnecting the CMOS as well as the laptop battery. Then press the power button for few seconds to drain any stored charge. Then reconnect the CMOS and battery and check if it turns on or not. We are hard resetting BIOS in this way.
4. We can check the RAM modules. Take the RAM out. Then clean the gold pin connectors on it, 'gently' using eraser and then with isopropyl alcohol (90% or so). This will clean the any carbon deposition on the connectors. Gently blow some air on the RAM connectors on the motherboard, to remove any dust. (make sure to not to spit while blowing air using mouth). Reseat the RAM and check if system turns on or not. (this step worked for me)
5. Try mix matching the RAM slots and RAM. If you have a known working spare RAM then test it on system. May be RAM turned bad and replacing starts the system.
6. If there is corrosion on the IC pins, then you may try cleaning it using isopropyl alcohol and a tooth brush. You may also try cleaning the connections on the ribbon connectors for display using eraser and isopropyl alcohol.
Other than these there can be problem in BIOS chip, or other display related chip or any other component. Only through hardware inspection will help then.
If you are not comfortable with opening laptop and handling the hardware then better consult a local repair shop. In stress we may damage the laptop.
Note: Whenever we have to handle system components, we should disconnect power and Battery.

How do u do a z690 carbin wifi motherboard I tried every flash bios version
Z690 Carbon WiFi, I guess is MSI motherboard. It should have a BIOS reset button. You ca try these steps:
1. Download the latest stable (Non-Beta) BIOS from official website. It should be a zip file.
2. Extract the zip file. It should have 2 files. One will be in kilobytes and other will be in Megabytes size. From the file explorer, click view and check the show the file extension checkbox. One file will show txt extension and the bigger file will have some other extension. The file which has size in megabytes, need to be renamed. Rename it as MSI.ROM
Give exact name in caps. The extension is .ROM
3. Now take an old USB drive (v2.0) and format it using FAT32 file system. Then place only the MSI.ROM file in the USB.
4. Now connect the USB to your motherboard on the port that says Flash BIOS. Now turn on the power to motherboard and press the BIOS flash button. Now the flashing should start. The indicator near the button with start flashing the light on and off continuously. When the indicator light stops and turns off, it means BIOS flash is completed. It will take about 5-6 minutes. Once done, switch off the power, remove the flash drive and then start your system normally.
(You can flash BIOS on your motherboard without any component on it. Just the 24 pin connector and the 8 pin ATX 1 connector for power will suffice.)

Password will not be removed by BIOS recovery. Remove the CMOS battery (if laptop then also remove the battery). You will need to search for BIOS reset pins on the motherboard, and use jumper to reset it. Sometimes some manufacturers also provide resetting the password if you have forgotten it.
If you are getting some kind of system code then write down that code on paper. go to bios-pw[dot]org. There enter that code. It will generate maser password or passwords. They them one by one. Enter that password in the system. Press enter. If its says incorrect password then enter the same password and press control + enter. This might also resolve the issue.

Every software has a version number. Update means that there is some enhancements in the same version of the software. When there is an upgrade, the version changes. The upgrades are with significant improvements. Generally people use updating and upgrading words interchangeably.
Recovering and restoring means the same. If any modification fails, we try to recover or restore the original version.
You are getting no boot device found error. This might not be a BIOS issue. There are some trouble shooting that we can do.
1. If you are ok with opening the laptop then, you may try to check by reseating the disk again.
2. You may try HP hardwarediagnostic tool built in the BIOS. You can access it, by pressing F2 as soon as the system is turned on. Or you can acces the BIOS menu by pressing escape as soon as the system is powered on. Ener the Hardware diagnostics. Then select option to check the disk. Choose the quick test. If the test fails, it implies that the disk is faulty. If the test passes, the disk is OK.
3. If disk is OK them we can now try some changes in BIOS settings. You can access the BIOS settings from the BIOS menu or by pressing F10, as soon as the system is powered on. Basically we are going to change the boot mode. There are 2 boot modes. Legacy/CSM and UEFI. We will try enabling and disabling the boot modes. Now, depending on the BIOS version, the options might be at diferent menu. We will go to system configurations and look for Boot option. Inside boot option we can see Legacy/CSM option and a secure boot option. When secure boot is enabled, it means our boot mode is UEFI. In UEFI mode, the legacy/csm mode is disabled. If this is the case, then we will first disable the secure boot and enable the legacy/csm mode. Save the changes and reboot.
If your system already had legacy/csm more enabled and secure boot disabled then we will enable the secure bot and disable the legacy?csm. Save the chnges and reboot. This should solve the problem.
4. If not, then we can try system recovery. This can be accessed using F11 as soon as you power on the Laptop. go to troubleshoot-advance option-system restore. Follow the prompt. You can get into these menus from bootable instation media for your OS too.
5. If system restore fails, try reseting the system to its factry settings. The option is in troubleshoot-reset my PC. There inside, you will find 2 options to either keep your files (soft reset) or remove everything (hard reset). First try soft reset.
6. You may also try using some command line methods. For this use the command prompt from the recovery mode. Bootable installation media can be used to use the command prompt. There you can do chkdsk, restore the OS health using DISM command, use sfc scan, re-building MBR. You can search for these on internet. I have also coverd them on my ther videos.
7. If it fails and you have no data that needs backup then, try hard reset. In hard reset you will get 2 options. first just remove my files or second full clean. For corrupt OS, full clean is better. Note that hard reset will remove the user files too.
8. If hard reset fails too, then just format your drive and install a fresh copy of OS.
I prefer to keep the OS on seperate physical disk and my personal data o seperate disk. So, if OS corrupts and basic troubleshooting is taking time, I format the disk. I also have a spare 250GB SSD with a fresh copy of OS I use and all the important softwares I need installed. I just clone the formatted disk from my spare SSD.

My laptop is hp vistus 16 i tried 3 different usb but it show same message the bios recovery files cannot be found or the files are corrupted.
I guess there is some deeper issue with its BIOS. I am assuming that you were able to find the right new BIOS files from HP website nd still it didn't work. I dont have access to this laptop model to do any trial. But I found one article that mentions same issue for Victus 16 and has solution steps. The article post is written by 'Manikandanram'. In my case Victus 16 Feedos had a ridiculous issue. I suppose it was due to lack of necessary information related to OS inside BIOS. Don't ask me how but I found out that my pc had to wait for 11 minutes (for to be sure but may be 10 minutes) after each shut down. Than it starts normally. But below this time if you try to boot it up again, Caps Lock light blinks 5 long 3 short repeatedly and fan starts to blow with full power. And Computer stays that way with dark screen.
So you have to press power button for 5 seconds to shut it down and wait for 11 minutes again.
After it boots up I pressed "ESC" to reach BIOS menu. Than I select F9 for boot menu. F10 is for BIOS settings. You can also try these at first.
When I booted to Windows Install USB and Installed Windows this issue resolved. I think it added something to BIOS.
So everything is normal now.
What should I do if there are no drivers for my laptop
Do you mean drivers or BIOS? Both are different things. Windows automatically takes care of all device drivers (for most of the general hardware). If you mean there are no BIOS files available for your laptop on the manufacturer's site then, The device must be very old. You will need to manually search for BIOS, on the internet, using the laptop's model number. But then reliability of the BIOS will be an issue.

Try recovering the BIOS using Windows + B keys. If it's an HP laptop. I have made a video on that too. BIOS should not depend on the operating system. What is important is the right device model number or serial number. You can check this by selecting any Windows version and checking if they all take to the same landing page having the same BIOS version downloadable file.

There are chances that it will clear the TPM. It depends on the system vendor's implementation.
How to do bios recovery for hp 285 g3 Mt pc
On PC, depending on motherboard, there are in general 3 ways to reset or recover your BIOS. Before trying any of the troubleshooting steps on motherboard, make sure that your computer power is switched off and the power cord is disconnected. Every time, after disconnecting the power cord, make sure to press the power button on cabinet, for 15 seconds atleast, to discharge any stored charge in the capacitors of the motherboard. It' very important for safety of user and components. Here are some steps. Try that suits your motherboard.
1. CMOS Battery: Motherboard has a CMOS battery (button cell). Gently remove that battery from motherboard. After a minute or two, place the battery back in the socket on motherboard. Then power on your system. This should complete the reset.
2. CMOS Reset Button: If your motherboard is high end motherboard then, there may be a CMOS reset button on the motherboard or at back panel of the motherboard. Press that button for few seconds. It should complete the reset.
3. CMOS clear pins: There may be 3 pin set or 2 pin set on the motherboard to reset the CMOS. The pins can be found generally in the area where the CMOS battery is located. If there is 3 pin setup then there may be a jumper pin on it. The middle pin is common. Remove the jumper and put it on the other vacant pin and the middle pin. Keep the jumper in that position or few minutes. Then remove the jumper and put it back to the original normal position. Generally you will find which pins to be jumped for which settings. Just for example pin 1-2 for clear CMOS and 2-3 for Normal. This may be other way around as per your motherboard. Jumpers actually short the pins to each other when we place on them. So if you have no jumper then you can use something like screwdriver or some wire to short them. If your motherboard has 2 pins setup then just short them for few minutes.
Just make sure, try only after switching power off, disconnecting cord and releasing built up charge in capacitors.

Bios in SWSetup not run
Oh, thats unfortunate. What I noticed while trying to run the exe from the SWSetup is that after double clicking the exe file, it takes time for the wizard to start. It took more than a minute in my case. I also thought for once that the exe didn't work, but, after a minute or so, the wizard appeared. This might be a case. Or, may be the download got corrupted somehow. Then we will need to redownload the file.

If you have Windows OS running
Search for and open Device Manager
locate Firmware in the list and click the arrow head to the left of it to open/expand it.
Now right click System Firmware and select update driver in the menu.
Now select Search automatically for drivers or if you got the Bios firmware update from HP and have ran the sp****.exe then select Browse my computer for drivers. Then Tick the checkbox Include subfolders and browse to the bios HP update you already run, (Do so if you have not first) select the swsetup folder which was extracted from the HP Bios firmware .exe (providing you did run and extract it) and by default it extracts to C:\ and click Next.
In case HP System BIOS Utility window doesn’t appear after agreeing to terms and clicking Next:
Go to the folder that the installer extracted files to.
Open the DOS Flash folder.
Copy the contents of the folder and paste them to the root of a FAT32 formatted USB drive.
Reboot target system and hit ESC to boot into BIOS; find the option to update system ROM.
Select USB and you should see a .bin file with the format xxx_MMmm, where xxx is the BIOS family, MM is the major version, and mm is the minor version.
If those look correct, choose the options to flash the new BIOS.

I believe the issue that you are facing is that on HP's website you are electing laptop and instead the printers page open. If that is the case then, you may try one step that might take you to the laptops page.
In my locale, the URL remains the same for printers and laptops except for the last word. For printers it is http..../..../printers and for laptops it is http.../.../laptops. So, you may try writing 'laptops' instead of 'printers' in the end of the URL. Then let HP detect your device.
If that is not the issue, then I am sorry that I understood the issue wrong.
