Tbh yall, and only yall, have us Warriors fans concerned coming out of the West.
I don't watch alot of Grizzlies games but I catch them vs the Warriors and random ones on national tv. I've always thought Ja was the anti-Westbrook -- athletic as hell but has a shot, amazing BBIQ, and takes what the defense gives him. That is one dangerous player.
Ja is talented as hell, works hard as hell, and is scary as hell because his potential is like no other.
A year later if only Ja would listen to Draymond off the court.
While watching this podcasts and hearing that Draymond actually stayed in college all 4 years I looked up his major, and I'm not surprised it was communications. This podcast really showed his way of thinking and expressing himself clearly and eloquently.

tbh most comm majors are not like that, and the fields they work in don't require it... he's just an intelligent, articulate guy.
This episode is gold. Interviewing one of the best defenders in the league whose been to 5 finals, a future HOF player, and played with arguably two of the best shooters of all time. It was interesting listening to Drays perspective on basketball and life, super insightful

Yes! When I was reading about trading Wiseman, Kuminga and Moses for some NBA star free agent, I was thinking: the Warriors won in '74-75 starting rookie Keith Wilkes at small forward, rookie Phil Smith off the bench. A wonderful mix of new and veteran players; Butch Beard, Bill Bridges, of course Rick Barry and Charles Johnson(second year player, from Cal(!)) with Derrick Dickey(1yr) and George Johnson (1yr)(another very young player) and Charles Dudley(1yr) (a wonderful interview, also young). Clifford Ray, as you know, was acquired for Nate (the great) Thurmond in a trade with Chicago, who they played against for the (Western? WTF?) title was in his third year.
Im a diehard bron fan and i genuinely have nothing but love for all 3 of them and i would include dre in that as well. Just outstanding humans who are not afraid to speak up for what is right and also just treat everyone great most of the time. game changers, and to me, all four are hall of famers unquestionably.

Draymond is the prototype of the guy you love having on your team but competing against him is pure hell. It's becoming a rare breed in today's NBA, the level of competitiveness and unselfishness he displays is inspiring ! Great interview.
He’s kind of a dirty player - or has been in the past at least - only complaint - love his heart, passion and dedication though
@@nsa4613 I don't think he's that dirty, though he does do all the holds and vet tricks that good post defenders do. That kick on Steven Adams was crazy. But aside from that, it's hard to remember him injuring another player once in his entire career, NBA and college included. And in recent years there are several examples of him catching guys and preventing a dangerous play. A dirty player would have at least a couple plays they wanted to hurt someone.
(For example, Grayson Allen.)

I wish this podcast went longer or a part 2 was coming soon. So much more to dive into. JJ's questions hit the points we all want to know about the inner workings of that Warriors dynasty and about how Dray fits into it. Draymond's answers give such detailed analysis on so many aspects of the NBA we don't get to see. Hope y'all can collab more like this again.

You’re just projecting your insecurity into the situation, he is apart of this podcast why wouldn’t he be heard? Sure his basketball views and opinions dont hold as much “weight” but he’s just as apart of this pod as jj is.
Draymonds easily the best interviewer in the league cuz he can articulate every detail. He's a natural when it comes to TV and media.
This COULD have been the GREATEST basketball podcast I’ve ever seen! The only thing that stopped it from being the best was Draymonds damn mic cover giving me EXTREME ocd 😂…. But in all seriousness this is probably my favorite basketball podcast ever ! I was totally locked it from beginning to end

This was probably the interview I enjoyed the most. Dray is just a great interview, answers every question with such detail. 100% my best episode so far.
This and the Jimmy interview are 2 of my favorites.

Questions from JJ and Tommy were presented in a way that I aspire to learn from. As someone who recently graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism and one who’s created content, I definitely took notes from this one.

It’s good because Draymond is a good person to interview. Most players wouldnt be a good interview for this long.

I’m from the Bay Area , & for the longest I’ve been a Michigan State basketball fan. I was shocked when I heard that the warriors drafted Draymond Green. Could not believe teams passed up on # 23. My favorite player on Golden State is # 23 because he hold his teammates accountable during the game because he hates loosing.Every team need’s a floor leader who keeps the energy high throughout the game , all 82 game’s.
This is the best basketball podcast I've listened to in a while! Hearing a basketball savant and a proven winner like Draymond dissecting the game and the spirit that surrounds it is truely breathtaking. J.J. shares the evident passion that Green displays for the game and I am extremely grateful to have such an insight on what playing in the NBA means for them both. Thank you very much!
This is not just a great episode, this is more like a historical basketball documentary about one of the greatest basketball dynasties! 1 hour and 45 minutes and you still want more! Once again kudos to jj and tommy for creating the best podcast about the sport we love! !
Extremely entertaining episode. No wonder he signed a multi-year media deal because when he talks basketball, you just sit and listen. He has the perfect personality for talking basketball. The way he portrays his knowledge is just very entertaining. This is something very few basketball players have. Credit must also be given to JJ and Tommy to ask the right questions and allow Draymond to elaborate on his answers.
Draymond is a bright addition for the future of NBA on tnt. No idea what other 3 would be good to match his charisma, honesty and insight

Steph, Klay and Draymond are a perfect trio, each has a weakness the other 2 cover.
Steph isn't the best defender (though better than many think), but Draymond and Klay are all defense caliber defenders.
Draymond is not a good scorer/shooter, Steph and Klay are 2 of the best shot makers in NBA history (especially off the ball).
Klay is not the best playmaker, but Steph and Draymond are excellent playmakers and Draymond especially is one of the best facilitators in league history (which isn't just raw assist numbers).
Steph can guard none of the top scorers thats why they switch hes among the easiest to score on Dont be delusional

I've watched this before and ended up here again because I was watching other podcasts of yours. As a non-tenure track teacher, the free agency conversation hits so hard.

Warriors are so lucky to have this man on their team. His leadership is so underrated. Just like everything else. You can already see the young guys playing like vets. Enjoying the game, playing the game the right way. The way he can rip into them mid game and they just respond like total pros. Top notch dude. Can't wait for him to coach the dubs one day.

In my opinion, Draymond deserves to be in the 75 team more than Dame, AD, and Klay.
I would agree...but basketball analysis hasnt evolved to the point where people can eye test how good someone is. Draymond offers defense, playmaking, dog mentality - all very integral things to a winning team that need to be done on a high level

He at least deserves it over Dame and AD. Three championships and a DPOY on a dynasty team where he anchored the defense. I’m not even a crazy Draymond fan but his career def gets slept on.

Alot he’s saying isn’t really all that surprising I wouldn’t call it common sense because its not common but its nothing that insightful truthfully many players probably have his knowledge they just cant implement it into their game because they aren’t as quick thinkers or talented simple as that, basketball isn’t complicated at all the best basketball players keep it simple.

Great interview! This is my second time listening to this interview (podcast and CZcams). Draymond was open and honest and full of opinions that only he could deliver. TNT was smart for snatching him up before he retires.
