To think, this was filmed around 50 years after the period portrayed. I'm now watching it 87 years after it was filmed! The actors in this film were in reality much closer to those who lived in the old west than they are to any of us today.

Tom Tyler sets out for a ghost town and the man that framed his dad. Frank Rice does a nice job as his sidekick and Roberta Gale is a most fetching leading lady. I always love to see the great Fern Emmett and Slim Whitaker. Murdock MacQuarrie, Nelson McDowell, and Ralph Lewis round out a wonderful cast.

Gotta love the lingering silent film influence -- exaggerated behavior, long fights, quick romance -- and those ten gallon hats! Sometimes you just have to watch an oldie.

In the opening scene as Tom rides away from the cattle camp, the band is playing Aloha Oe, An unusual song for the old west.
Then at the end it's easy down upon the Swanee River.

Very enjoyable. This was so much more than just a cowboy movie, it allowed you to go back in time to see how western movies were made.
The fight scenes were great. Today, they spend days rehearsing a choreographed fight, before filming. Back then, the actors were just told to fight it out, making it up as they went. No stunt doubles. Everything was real, no CGI. I hadn't heard the term, "I muffled it", since I was a kid. No cursing, no sex, just something the entire family could watch. Bravo.

Wow, the elderly really are easily conned. Traitor Bone Spurs would never fight in a war alongside you and only works to destroy our great democracy daily by putting himself over the interests of our nation. Try getting out in the real world sometime instead of just watching Fox News propaganda all day, grandpa.

About ten minutes of story stretched over nearly an hour! Fun though, but somewhat politically incorrect by modern standards.
