In this case I believe that the lower part of the piston is structural. For me it isn't a good idea cut this part.
No problem to enlarge the lateral widows.
na its not cause its thin. see original piston bottom skirt edge. thick beam.

Mr Freak, I happen to be building a 210 sport mk2 kit with a 60mm crank. I have matched the ports and opened the exhaust to 64% following your guide. Would you suggest making these further modifications to the piston? It makes me a bit nervous cutting into a new piston, but I completely trust your judgment when it comes to Vespa engines and beer! Cheers
no. its not structural. way too thin for that. only side vertical beams are structural.
if bottom end skiet is structural its THICK. see original piaggio piston.
thick beam all around skirt
