Mihawk set a really high standard really early in the series,one of my favorite parts of the series....gave us a good idea of how strong Luffy would need to be.

Gecko moria had been defeated by luffy and considered weak during the Paramount war so Donquixote Doflamingo took care of him and he was removed from warlord, since gecko moria was the third warlord to be removed during the war, Edward Weevil was given the title of Warlord since he was the third selected after the war. Jinbe resigned from the warlords and since he was the first warlord to be replaced during the war, Buggy was chosen to be Warlord since he was the first Warlord to be chosen after the War. Finally in the Levely, the World Government decided to abolish the Warlord System once and for all due to the tragedy caused by previous Warlords on Government-allied-Kingdoms. So with no Warlords in place, the Marines were ordered to capture the current 4 Now-Former-Warlords.

Look at Enel for example his ability was one of the best and he mastered it to a very high level yet his strength and reaction time barely allowed him to keep up with pre gears Luffy. Kuma's durability is Pacifista level since they are made of the same stuff, Sanji destroys him if he lands a clean DJ, yet he didn't even make Vergo slow down with two of them.

He was so confident in his plans and ability he let Luffy live three times when he could of killed him easily in those instances. Also he thought he could kill White stache. Doffy is greed cos the dude's prepared to do whatever it takes to get what he wants. In an attempt to regain his status as a Celestial Dragon he killed his own dad. To gain immortality he was prepared to sacrifice law's life and when Corazon stole the op op fruit he killed him without mercy. He works pretty well as Wrath as well but idk what Kuma will be tho. Moria is gluttony cos he has that move where he eats all those shadows and becomes a stronger and uglier onion I guess. Pretty sure gluttony doesn't just apply to eating so it could have something to do with the large amount of zombie soldiers he gathering
To be fair, Gintama breaks cooyrights for basicly anything, for basicly no reason, basicly on a regular basis. And OP is the most parodied manga/anime Gintama uses. Maybe with the exception of Dragonball.
I first knew them as the Seven Warlords of the Sea, then as the shichibukai when I started watching subbed episodes of One Piece. Mihawk was the first we were ever introduced to, back in the Baratie arc in East Blue, but all of the glorified privateers are forces to be reckoned with, regardless of their moral alignment or their reasons for terrorizing the peoples of the seas. (They are pirates that operate under the government's protection, in exchange for a cut of their profits/reaping the benefits of their various activities, which is essentially what a privateer is.)
The first seven warlords we see seem to also embody the seven deadly sins. Boa Hancock: Lust Bartholomew Kuma: Gluttony Sir Crocodile: Greed Dracule Mihawk: Pride Jimbei: Envy Donquihote Doflaminco: Wrath Gecko Moria: Sloth
I look at mihawk the same way I look at garp. One could be a yonko and the other one could be a fleet admiral easily. However they rather just be at a smaller rank because it's easier and they have more freedom

Do you think you'll ever do a video of the top 5 best devil fruit users. You've re ranked the fruits by quality, but it would be cool to go over the users themselves. Also I'd agree that Mihawk is the top of the warlords as well. After all, with the exception of Jinbei he's the only one without devil fruit powers. He can swim and is not afraid of sea prism stone.
Here's a fun theory: One Piece becomes something like an open source Art Project/ Anime. People like yourself who like to think deeper about the series and are not just a fun are able to submit something in the world of One Piece, like a Character, an island, a mini Arc. That way you get the first series in history, with millions of characters with backstories and a world as huge as the real world. But it doesn't stop there.In the next 10 years, with advances to Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computers and genetics we're able to create a simulation of that exact world, and we are able to upload a copy of your consciousness there. BOOM. Now you get to ditch your shitty life and be as free as Luffy, got after One Piece, and ask to see Nami's Pants.
I really like Crocodile and Mihawk because they're both early antagonists (in Mihawk's case as there isn't really anything that evil about him) that served as a brutal wake-up calls for Luffy and Zoro and a good example of how powerful a Warlord should be.
I think Kuma is seriously overlooked. He literally decimated the straw hats with ease on Sabaody. He is leagues above them as a whole even with their combined power. If you remember in detail, Kumas speed alone made Luffy look like x0.5 when in Gear 2nd. Not to mention his devil fruit ability is OP as fuck. He's basically immune to any sort of physical attack not matter how immense, granted if he has the reaction time to block it with his paws. I would go as far as to say he's either near or even on Mihawks tier. I'm extremely fascinated by his character and I'm really hoping we can get a flash back story with him back in his prime with the revolutionary army. What a sight that would be to see him fucking shit up alongside Dragon !
Dolfamingo had to be by far the toughest and tankiest of all the warlords! I mean this guy wouldnt go down no matter how many times he got hit and what he got hit with! If you look at his fight with Luffy carefully you'll notice that he gets hit in the exact same spot over and over again! Each attack stronger than the last!
And now there are none, cause they all got fired: Meaning Boa's probably gonna try and make a B-line to luffy, Mihawk's gonna just wander around, Buggy's gonna panic, Kuma's just gonna be a robot, and Weevil will probs not really do much else....

Imo the seven warlords should be five warlords instead. Hawkeye, Crocodile, Kuma, Doffy and Teach. Moriah, Hancock, Jinbei should not make the cut. Imagine 5 warlords, 4 yonkos, 3 admirals (4 if fleet admiral included).
Shibu Siltan I think you’re underestimating Boa Hancock and Jinbe. Hancock is one of the 12 people (not including herself) in the story who have been stated to have or have used Conqueror’s Haki. Not only that but she’s one of the few people in the world who has access to all 3 forms of Haki which is no small feat and has become a precedent for strong characters in the world of One Piece. Hancock is definitely strong with her being so beautiful to the masses she’s not an easy combatant to fight less the person fighting her wants to turn into stone or be defeated by her Haki. Jinbe is a Fishman so he already holds a natural advantage on both land and ocean. He fought Ace for several days before collapsing from exhaustion. He also defended/blocked/stopped one of Akainu’s attack, though this was only for a short time, which is something that not many can do. He even managed to be the first person to knock Big Mom off the Sunny using Fishman Karate, though she was weakened, this is still a large enough feat to note. Long story short, Moria shouldn’t make the cut but Hancock and Jinbe both have the fighting chops and skills to hold their position and maintain power and status in the world.
I'm surprised there isn't a Warlord named Barbarossa. He was the closest thing in the real world to a warlord of the sea. He was the most infamous pirate in the Mediterranean until he was finally recruited by the Ottomans. However he was mainly used as a weapon against Spain which was a rival for the Ottomans for control of the Mediterranean.

After all despite the fact that he is individually the strongest he can only be in 1 place at a time and he really is far too aloof and anti-social to have any influence. Many of the other warlords have the influence to help keep the pirate society in check. Mihawk doesn't do that at all.
It's really hard to think about the old lore without realizing so much of it has been outscaled by Oda's writing. The 7 Warlords were once serious contenders but now Luffy has defeated nearly all of them, and even has one of them *under his command.* Bartholomew was hella strong but got turned into a robot. Blackbeard upgraded to Yonko. It's hard to imagine any of them besides Mihawk now holding any weight in the Grandline. They need to recruit some actual firepower because the 7 Warlords title has been a joke since the Whitebeard arc.
Blackbeard's flag has 3 skulls, because there are 3 of him, in different points of his life. And Usopp is him like 20 years ago or something. He started out good, being Usopp, whose trademark is that he lies... And they have the same nose almost etc. So Blackbeard has the power to wield 3 devil fruits. And later there will be a showdown like there was before, between Usopp and Luffy, except he will know that it's Blackbeard, but at the same time it's really Usopp, he just didn't know he would later become Blackbeard
2:20 I wonder why he had to manipulate things to become a warlord. I think with his level of power and influence he would have been invited straight up. In fact I would say Don Flamingo is the most powerful of all the warlords. Not individually though as Mihawk wins that hands down but Mihawk doesn't have much influece. The warlords dominate the pirate world and through them the world government hopes it can influence things to their advantage.

I was always so curious as to who the Warlords to fill those empty slots were... I mean I felt like the World Government had already chosen replacements for Law, Moria and Kuma (I consider Weevil to be the direct replacement of Doflamingo) but we never found out who. Or perhaps they didn't have a replacement yet in which case I'm curious as to who would've been chosen had the system not been abolished. Now that he no longer associates with Big Mom I could see Bege joining, likewise following the death of Newgate, I wonder if they considered Marco being offered the title and "controlling" the Whitebeard pirates. but they're the only pre-established character I can think of as candidates, (let alone actually Warlords) meaning Oda would have potentially had to create new characters right before the abolishing but Still, curious. I first knew them as the Seven Warlords of the Sea, then as the shichibukai when I started watching subbed episodes of One Piece. Mihawk was the first we were ever introduced to, back in the Baratie arc in East Blue, but all of the glorified privateers are forces to be reckoned with, regardless of their moral alignment or their reasons for terrorizing the peoples of the seas. (They are pirates that operate under the government's protection, in exchange for a cut of their profits/reaping the benefits of their various activities, which is essentially what a privateer is.)

I remember thinking that all the Warlords were so intimidating until Hancock. Kuma and Doflamingo are my favorites.
Kuma is super cool. His instant transmission basically makes him the strongest creature. Good thing he didn't abuse this power.

I look at mihawk the same way I look at garp. One could be a yonko and the other one could be a fleet admiral easily. However they rather just be at a smaller rank because it's easier and they have more freedom

Also I'd agree that Mihawk is the top of the warlords as well. After all, with the exception of Jinbei he's the only one without devil fruit powers. He can swim and is not afraid of sea prism stone.

I really like Crocodile and Mihawk because they're both early antagonists (in Mihawk's case as there isn't really anything that evil about him) that served as a brutal wake-up calls for Luffy and Zoro and a good example of how powerful a Warlord should be.

I think Kuma is seriously overlooked. He literally decimated the straw hats with ease on Sabaody. He is leagues above them as a whole even with their combined power. If you remember in detail, Kumas speed alone made Luffy look like x0.5 when in Gear 2nd. Not to mention his devil fruit ability is OP as fuck. He's basically immune to any sort of physical attack not matter how immense, granted if he has the reaction time to block it with his paws. I would go as far as to say he's either near or even on Mihawks tier. I'm extremely fascinated by his character and I'm really hoping we can get a flash back story with him back in his prime with the revolutionary army. What a sight that would be to see him fucking shit up alongside Dragon !

Dolfamingo had to be by far the toughest and tankiest of all the warlords! I mean this guy wouldnt go down no matter how many times he got hit and what he got hit with! If you look at his fight with Luffy carefully you'll notice that he gets hit in the exact same spot over and over again! Each attack stronger than the last!
And now there are none, cause they all got fired: Meaning Boa's probably gonna try and make a B-line to luffy, Mihawk's gonna just wander around, Buggy's gonna panic, Kuma's just gonna be a robot, and Weevil will probs not really do much else....

Shibu Siltan I think you’re underestimating Boa Hancock and Jinbe.
Hancock is one of the 12 people (not including herself) in the story who have been stated to have or have used Conqueror’s Haki. Not only that but she’s one of the few people in the world who has access to all 3 forms of Haki which is no small feat and has become a precedent for strong characters in the world of One Piece. Hancock is definitely strong with her being so beautiful to the masses she’s not an easy combatant to fight less the person fighting her wants to turn into stone or be defeated by her Haki.
Jinbe is a Fishman so he already holds a natural advantage on both land and ocean. He fought Ace for several days before collapsing from exhaustion. He also defended/blocked/stopped one of Akainu’s attack, though this was only for a short time, which is something that not many can do. He even managed to be the first person to knock Big Mom off the Sunny using Fishman Karate, though she was weakened, this is still a large enough feat to note.
Long story short, Moria shouldn’t make the cut but Hancock and Jinbe both have the fighting chops and skills to hold their position and maintain power and status in the world.
The warlords as an antagonists were more impressive than the yonko.
I'm surprised there isn't a Warlord named Barbarossa. He was the closest thing in the real world to a warlord of the sea. He was the most infamous pirate in the Mediterranean until he was finally recruited by the Ottomans. However he was mainly used as a weapon against Spain which was a rival for the Ottomans for control of the Mediterranean.
One time rival of kaido is a beyond enormous overstatement of Moria

I don't think he is their greatest asset. After all despite the fact that he is individually the strongest he can only be in 1 place at a time and he really is far too aloof and anti-social to have any influence. Many of the other warlords have the influence to help keep the pirate society in check. Mihawk doesn't do that at all.

It's really hard to think about the old lore without realizing so much of it has been outscaled by Oda's writing. The 7 Warlords were once serious contenders but now Luffy has defeated nearly all of them, and even has one of them *under his command.* Bartholomew was hella strong but got turned into a robot. Blackbeard upgraded to Yonko. It's hard to imagine any of them besides Mihawk now holding any weight in the Grandline.
They need to recruit some actual firepower because the 7 Warlords title has been a joke since the Whitebeard arc.

He started out good, being Usopp, whose trademark is that he lies... And they have the same nose almost etc. So Blackbeard has the power to wield 3 devil fruits. And later there will be a showdown like there was before, between Usopp and Luffy, except he will know that it's Blackbeard, but at the same time it's really Usopp, he just didn't know he would later become Blackbeard

I wonder why he had to manipulate things to become a warlord. I think with his level of power and influence he would have been invited straight up. In fact I would say Don Flamingo is the most powerful of all the warlords. Not individually though as Mihawk wins that hands down but Mihawk doesn't have much influece.
The warlords dominate the pirate world and through them the world government hopes it can influence things to their advantage.
Because mingo is evil and wants to see the WG burn, granted you can't really expect for a pirate to be good but mingo is pure evil and again he wants to see the WG or more precisely the world that's ruled by the CD burn.

I was always so curious as to who the Warlords to fill those empty slots were... I mean I felt like the World Government had already chosen replacements for Law, Moria and Kuma (I consider Weevil to be the direct replacement of Doflamingo) but we never found out who. Or perhaps they didn't have a replacement yet in which case I'm curious as to who would've been chosen had the system not been abolished.
Now that he no longer associates with Big Mom I could see Bege joining, likewise following the death of Newgate, I wonder if they considered Marco being offered the title and "controlling" the Whitebeard pirates. but they're the only pre-established character I can think of as candidates, (let alone actually Warlords) meaning Oda would have potentially had to create new characters right before the abolishing but Still, curious. Maybe some day that will be a question in the SBS
