    0:10 Vitamin K1
    1:22 Vitamin K2
    2:20 Absorption
3:30 More on vitamin K1 vs. vitamin K2
Today I want to cover the differences between Vitamin K1 and Vitamin K2.
    Vitamin K1:
‱ Has everything to do with blood clotting and bone metabolism
‱ If you're deficient, you may have bruising, you may have trouble with blood clotting, or you may have bleeding gums
‱ Without vitamin K1, you could bleed to death
‱ It's unlikely for someone to be deficient in vitamin K1
‱ You get vitamin K1 primarily from plant sources, but it's in animal products as well
‱ Vitamin K1 in plants is poorly absorbed, but the body recycles vitamin K1
‱ Oil like olive oil, on a salad, for example, can help with the absorption of vitamin K1
‱ Blood thinners like Warfarin can cause a deficiency in vitamin K1
    Vitamin K2:
‱ Has everything to do with calcium control and bone strength
‱ It's primarily in animal products (like animal fat) and fermented foods (like natto and sauerkraut)
‱ A few examples of foods rich in vitamin K1 are beef or pork liver, pork, chicken, beef, egg yolks, and soft cheeses
‱ Vitamin K2 is much better absorbed than vitamin K1 because it comes with fat
‱ The bacteria in your colon can make vitamin K1 from vitamin K2
‱ You could become deficient if you're on a low-fat diet, you have inflammation in your gut, you had your gallbladder removed, or you have a fatty liver or a damaged liver

Something is working :) because when I dumped my Motocross Bike, the foot peg did 'major surgery' on my leg down to the bone and the blood clotted and covered up the injury so fast, that it never had time to run down my leg. The leg had a mild yellow bruise for about 2 weeks. If this would've happened in my 30's, I'm pretty sure that 1. my bone would've been broken, 2. the bleeding would've taken minutes to stop and 3. my leg would've been black, blue and rainbow colored for months. Thank You for everything you do

I'm glad you clarified that we can make K2 from K1 and not the other way around. K2-4, and only K2-4, is also a fundamental brain nutrient, taking the place of CoQ10 in some neurons. I discovered it on my own when I repaired my ability to learn new music (I was semi-pro musician). After trying K2-4 on and off for a month, noting the effects each time, we wrote to Life Extension Foundation and they phoned usÄș back. They had known about the memory effect for 3 years by that time (2015). A year later, NIH came out with the reason that K2-4 was a brain nutrient .
Incidentally there is at least one CZcams doctor who says K2-4 is made from K2-7 in our bodies. I am living proof that it's not true, as I was taking plenty of K2-7, and it did absolutely nothing for my brain fog right in the center of my head, or my ailing short-term memory.
Keep up the good work. Thanks.

I eat a lot of raw, organic sauerkraut and kimchi.
I strive to get fats from plant sources. I eat a lot of avocado, walnuts, pecans, and olives, as well as other nuts and seeds.
    I take about 3,400 D3 daily.
I hope I'm not missing anything as far as how to best utilize calcium via K2, and get other K2 benefits.

Happy New Year. Thank you. I have a question I’m taking a supplement of D3 & K2 and was told that the K2 was bad for my heart, is that true. I’m a type 2 and Copd am I harming myself? I thought that you did a teaching on taking 20000 international units of D3 to strengthen my lungs. Am I doing the right thing. I’m so confused thank you and God Bless you and yours

Vitamin k2 made my face ugly and wide and my jaw going more inward. I had a lower jaw extension surgery years ago because I had a huge overbite. It made my cheekbones wider, is there any way to reverse this? I use 1 mg vitamin k2 mk4 a day.
