Jordan, You'all got this. My first born was "FlushedOut" in Augsburg, Germany (sept. 1979). I watched the "critter" being "flushedOut", IT TOOK FOUR MINUTES..!!!(No sweat) It's a "memorable" experience THAT YOU WILL NEVER FORGET..!! NEVER...EVER..!!!🤣🤣🤣😂
About time, congrats to you lucky parents. Very happy for you. I lived in Malta for two years and your going to love it there. Water is crystal clear and you can read "Budweiser" on a
can in the white sand 50'deep at the dock. Great scuba diving. That was a couple years ago but I don't think it has changed much since then. Very clean Island,all three.

Congrats. That is thrilling for you. You CAN do this. Two thoughts: 1) if Malta turns out to be less than perfect, check out Portugal, which is very family-friendly, encourages digital nomadness, and has first rate healthcare at less cost; and 2) you probably already know S/V Delos and Ran Sailing from CZcams. They are about 3 years ahead of you in raising a child on a voyaging sailboat, and they seem to be doing a GREAT job of it.

Congratulations! Those of us who subscribe to RAN SAILING know what a wonderful experience it can be raising baby while still following the world cruising dream. Seeing Johan & Malin’s beautiful baby Vera growing up with her parents continuing their CZcams sailing adventures is truly inspiring. What and amazing childhood it is.
Now this is THE adventure! Nothing in the world as awesome as being a parent!

Congratulations! It’s going to be a real adventure and you guys will be great parents. My wife and I had our first baby at age 44 and ended up with twin boys.

You could sure reach out to RAN Sailing for advice. Johan and Malin are raising their daughter Vera as they sail. They are currently in the Caribbean, but had been sailing for five years before having Vera (she's two now I believe). They continue to cruise and enjoy life. They have a great channel! Had my first at 37 and my second at 39….all good. We didn’t think it would happen for us so we focused on career. When baby 1 came along. We had a ton to learn. I read….a ton….made some mistakes….but the kid is forgiving. Trust your instincts. Also…. Older parents seem to enjoy the journey a bit more at least we did! Congrats

We sold our house and moved aboard our first boat when our kids were 6 and 9. Just like Jordan, I would have loved that to have been my childhood. Our kids made instant friends with any other boat kid they met and that helped us get to know the other parents. We have fond memories of travelling together with many other families both on our boats and on inland excursions. These are all things for you to look forward to.

I do know a kid who was born in Açores and lived the first 12 years of his life on board a ship cruising with his parents. Now he's a really cool teenager and he's saving up for his own cruiser already 😉

Thanks for sharing. We took our kids cruising for 3.5 years. I wouldn't change a thing. Our kids turned out amazing.
I accidentally ended up in Spain for 5 years on a 90 day VISA. No one cared since I look European(yes,that's as bad as it sounds). Heathcare was not expensive.
Also, statistically mothers who have morning sickness are more likely to end up with healthy babies. As for after, some of my best memories as a child were on a boat with my father. He was a sailing instructor so he would get a new class and we would go out on the water for a week or two at a time.
There's nothing wrong with looking European and for Europeans to want to preserve their people, culture and heritage. Doesn't sound bad at all.
@@LVQ-so5th Europe has multiple cultures already and most Spanish would hate to live like say the Germans, British or Dutch.

Great news! As far as your kid being a “weirdo” goes, I’ve observed, from watching way too many boating videos (Delos, Mermaid Monster, La Vagabonde, Ran, et al), that yachties tend to have exceptionally cool and beautiful children. So rest assured.

Congratulations, you will have a little Maltesa. There are the megalithic temples on Malta, they are very strange and ancient, well worth some visits, it also has a history of occupation. It's a nation known for historic sites related to a succession of rulers including the Romans, Moors, Knights of Saint John, French and British and this is reflected in the population and culture. It's very hot so a wide brimmed hat and high strength skin protection is advised. Take care.
Malta is also known for its friendly people and yes apart from Ancient history and one of the oldest caves too (Ghar Dalam) Malta is also know being a very safe country for tourists.

Malta is the best! I spent 3 years there when I was young back in 1960. I was 10,11 & 12 years old. My Dad worked in the oilfields of Libya at the time, so we were stationed as a family in Malta. I have beautiful memories of the amazing little Island. I snorkeled everywhere and explored with my brother everywhere around without my parents worrying where we were or what we were doing. Beautiful sweet people are native to the island. Best wishes to you all and your new family member!
