Ayo is joined by The Athletic’s senior football correspondent David Ornstein and data writer Mark Carey to break down the recent ’manager merry-go-round’ that has Amorim at the front of the line for a number of Premier League clubs.

With the amount of managers available, they can create a new team filled with managers, managed by Jose Mourinho
When Ornstein talks you listen, one of the most respected and trusted Journo’s in the game 👌
did Ornstein pay you to say that?
@@kingrobert7246 I wish 🤣Just speak as I find….
@@ianking6827 He’s FSG’s puppet.
Great journo. Terrible podcaster, so flat / dull.
Based on what?
“The resources at West Ham” - Moyes has spent £500+ in 4yrs 😂 + Europe has never been available up to 7th place before. Roeder, Redknapp et all have all taken us to 7th place or more
Yeah. But none of them won you any trophies. And I'm no fan of moyes. He's the one who destroyed man United by sacking all our coaches from fergies era.
David Orstein makes it up as he goes along.
He’s actually blaming other people for saying Amorim was Liverpool’s next manager when he was the main protagonist!!
He definitely gets paid by the word.
Tim is director of football not sporting director as that’s mark noble. Furthermore moyes having spent £450m is leaving West Ham with the oldest smallest squad in the premier league
Sporting Portugal fan here. What we can't understand is, why in a middle of an important week where we will play against Porto, he's heading to London causing this whole different scenarios and not be focused only in the next game to getting closer to the title.
He’s leveraging it to get the job he wants, or a new contract.
Deves tar maluco só pode. Uma oportunidade unica na vida dele. Achas que um clube como o Liverpool fica à espera indefinidamente por um treinador? Um pouco de cabeça por favor.
@@jeanjacqueslundi3502 No they do not wait indefinitely. That's now what I suggested at all. I think that he might be saying to Liverpool/Barcelona/Chelsea/Man United - "If you want me, come and get me now because I have options and I am in demand."
@@Alaiksandr I was answeing to the original poster.
cos titles won ;)
No Arne Slot.
I watched a lot of Amorim’s first title with Sporting Clube - they weren’t actually that dominant in games, often resorting to a lower block once they had a lead, even against the smaller clubs, whose resources are nothing compared to Sporting. That being said, even then they were very well coached and their attacking play was very stylish, and they’ve certainly evolved to be a much stronger attacking proposition since then.
Can you imagine in a multiverse somewhere, Torres was there to audition for the manager job 😮😂
I'm getting the sense from this video that nobody knows what is going on at Liverpool as to who the next manager is. No-one has been ruled in or out.
Sky sports said Liverpool verbally agreed terms with Amorim. Turns out it was actually Arne Slot 😂
This is all the work of Michael Edwards, no info leaks when he's in control, even Fab and Orny didn't know there has already been contacts and meeting with Slot.
remind me which team has conceded 3+ goals in the most matches this season?
i would love thomas frank at liverpool personally, he's got the right personality to guide us through the post klopp era, he's used to overachieving with a smaller budget than his rivals and he believes in football playing an active part in the community, seems a really decent bloke who's obviously incredibly talented
Completely agree.
Lampard, Gerrard and Rooney are all available
All the media at the airport waiting for Amorin makes me feel this was a trick from his agent to try and force Liverpool to act or risk losing him
The news is this.
Journalists followed one lad who said Amorim was coming to the league, based off of very little, and the rest followed. Easy work, just throw his name into everything.
It baffles me how fans create all sort of fan fiction based on what a journalist said. Specially when other journalists (like Romano) didn't confirm it.
Thankfully, someone mentions Ljinders
Man Edson Alvarez is so understand he’s a great CDM
It’s not sporting Lisbon, it’s sporting club of Portugal
Same shit different gravy
Alonso and amorim not taken in any consideration of premiere league club two best coaches just dumped aside why
Chelsea are looking more competitive new players coming in
I'd love to see him at chelsea
Give us poch any day . Pls
Yeah i would love to see Moyes at Chelsea also.
Moyes has started to kill Kudus style, Moyes was reluctant to use him,he's done this to many players. Sorry Mr Ornstein you don't know what you're talking about. You sound like Chris Sutton, lost all respect for you
Pep Linders a fantastic Coach no doubt but I’m not sure he has the Shoulders and Personality big enough to take the weight of Liverpool.
Sporting Clube de Portugal ! Ok ?
Amorim will not leave Sporting for West Ham.
Probably not, but we don’t know how much West Ham are prepared to pay
Why not?
Ham and Potter is a dream.
more like a nightmare
It's clear that Chelsea was the problem not Potter
@@jamesabbott8621 Agreed 👍
Absolute delusion from our board to think someone like Amorin would come to our club. We're a circus in the boardroom, an aging squad, a philosophy that anyone with any promise will just be poached by "bigger" clubs and we've had Moyes turn stability into stagnation. It's a total rebuild job, why would someone ambitious like Amorin harm his career by joining West Ham?
I support Liverpool but can't really understand the hate for Moyes, he won you a European trophy and you're not badly placed in the league. You've kept Bowen which is good going as he's excellent. Liverpool are doomed because of Michael Edwards returning, him and Klopp fell out and it seems managers don't want to work with him. Wouldn't surprise me if MU or Chelsea end up getting Amorim now.
@nonnayoubuzinnes1669 Take moyes then if you think that his good . Nah thought not .
@@nonnayoubuzinnes1669 - would you want Moyes at Liverpool?
@@davidcooke8059 No. But no disrespect we are a much bigger deal than West Ham. Not sure what your views are about him as you didn't say but from the outside he's done a decent job. Above Chelsea and not far behind MU I would have thought you'd be happy with?
If you’re on the outside, you won’t know the detail, in the same way I don’t look closely at what’s happening at Liverpool. Our playing stats are dire, and we will probably end up finishing 9th or 10th which is no longer acceptable. We respect what Moyes has done, but it’s time to move forward
To start with, it's Sporting Club of Portugal, not Sporting Lisbon (please refer to the club's badge). Secondly, Ruben isn't going anywhere. That is all destabilising attempts and rumours that Benfica media lobbyists start spreading every time Sporting is winning.
😂
He looks like David Blaine
Stop saying Sporting Lisbon!!! It's Sporting Club Portugal!!! Ruben will be staying one more year in Portugal and then he will jump to another championship, most likely the Premier League. It will be a club that no one is talking. Liverpool are very scientific about hiring a manager. West Ham? Please... Nonsense!!! Why would he be leaving a Champions League team to go to a club like West Ham? Shot in the foot, in my opinion. Man Utd, Chelsea... Barcelona even! Ruben has a team with young players, some from the academy... Why do we have to look to big name managers if they are not showing results? We have to take chances with younger managers. I know it's tough to manage a dressing room with big names not having a big name yourself but i think it's time to shift the paradigm. Young blood, new ways to manage clubs... That's my opinion.
Sorry, but it's no Sporting Lisbon, btw. Just Sporting, mate.
West Ham are going to sack Moyes and then look for the best person to be their manager, only to find that the best person to be their manager is David Moyes.
Again.
Ornstein knows West Ham havr been talking to Amorim for months and have agreed in principle.
Moyes is just awful. the amount of money and players he has burned is mind boggling. The backing he has had, he has done the bare minimum to be called a success. He also ignores half his squad and gaslights fans. he makes me hate football.
Without Moyes, Ham are trophyless.
@@mustardegg2 ... whilst we wouldn't have the oldest and smallest squad in the Prem League ... Moyes OUT
@@IggyGoesPop666 poor comment. Show some respect to the manager.
True though, he’s cost us millions
@@mustardegg2 Respect??? What like the way that Moyes disrespects some of our players like Alex Kral who was here on loan from Czech who used to sit in his car crying after training sessions because the horrible creep Moyes wouldn't even talk to him ... Moyes is not a nice man who deserves no respect
Wooow Athletic you guys are top notch. Way better than Talkshite( Talksport) who are always trashing around. Your analysis are on point and not bias. Very neutral and objective. These is the kind of journalism we wana listen to.
Yes at West Ham ⚒️
Potter is on so much money from Chelsea he doesn’t need a job atm
I think Potter is a good manager. I think he was treated unfairly at Chelsea.
SPORTING DE PORTUGAL ..... FDS CRL,
Andre Villa Boas vibes?!
Not even close mate. AVB started with, arguably, the best Porto squad ever that were already dominating Portugal. That was what launched him to Chelsea. Amorim built a destroyed squad up and maintained it. He will succeed wherever he goes
SPORTING CLUB OF PORTUGAL.
⚒️⚒️⚒️⚒️⚒️
Tuchel would suit Pool
Nope
Wilfred Nancy, now at Columbus, would be fit and ready for each Premier League team
If you’re writing a piece start with getting the club team’s name right lol … lol … no credibility
Tuchel for Liverpool, Moyes confirmed at West Ham
Nonsense
@@DeeClarke-lg1hp i didn't mean that I would do that, just this will be the board choices
There is no club called Sporting Lisbon …. SCP stands for Sporting Clube Portugal 🇵🇹… zero credibility
Please take in England Allegri. We desperate want to get rid of him at Juventus, please....
😂😂
No thank you, we have learned from Simone Zaza
Amorim will stay at sporting
Sporting Lisbon? Isn't the manager German?
Brendan Rodgers to West Ham ...😮😮😮😮
