Searching for this kind of videos here on CZcams for learning, cause i am a old cars restorer im my city, i just found this great video, and just discovered that the Brandon's bus came from a city just 80 kms from my city.(I suspected at the time i saw the license plaque). I had a 68 bus( here in Brazil we call "Kombi"), that i just sell to client of mine, and he asked to me to complete the restoration. In my country these cars were pushed to the limit in heavy duty work, that explain the body situation, and the fact that about 20 years ago the old "Kombis" had a very low value in the market , you could easily buy one for 50 or 100 bucks. That started to change about 15 years ago because of the nostalgy. We had here 3 kinds of "Kombi": the T1 ,that we lovely call here "corujinha" that means "little owl"(owlet) cause she has a face like an owl (57 to 75), we had the "Clipper Kombi" (75 to 97) and the "Carat Kombi" (97 to 2013), and i think is a shame for us the fact of produce this vehicles for so many time, millions of units, and today has a so poor support on nacional body parts, thats ridiculous! Very nice work Brandon! Your style of working , looks to much like my style to work here, searching for the rust werever it be! Very good job!

So appreciate the comment! I had been searching for the answer to the meaning behind "corujinha" for years now, Im so grateful for the explanation. This bus worked as a Taxi in that city, further explaining how rough it had been treated, but Im grateful to give her a second life.

When you cut off that black piece of floor detritus. You just fixed the substandard weld and you got it done! Man there’s several channels like yours. But frankly they seem amateurish and disorganised they aren’t following a well conceived master plan like you seem to always know when, what and where.I do have a question for you which you might get asked a lot who does your engine restores and /or rebuilds?

I am considerably older than you dude let’s just say that I may be older than the bus you are rebuilding. A recovering rock musician who ended up in a wheelchair. The idea of going places without my chair is dreadful walking is extremely painful the idea of one of your restorations transporting me and my chair is a dream. Do you think a floor like the one you have rebuilt could support me and my chair total weight approximately 600 lbs

You really need to use thinner cutting discs, as you weld gaps are too wide. MIG weld is brittle, so the welds are likely to fail
