I’ve been watching along the whole build while I was saving up for my bus.
I’m now watching along as I teach myself to weld to replace the rear corner panels on my new 77 bay window!!
Looks perfect !
you do well, txs for sharing...
Wow your so close on the metal work kris!
GREAT JOB
I will buy a welder and re-watch every single one of your videos 😁
Miss your live streams

Muito satisfatório ver a evolução dessa restauração. Creio que logo veremos o início do processo de pintura. Saudações do Brasil!
`compressed air right near the grinder will help with the warp factor 9 issues ;) Good job dude :)
That's a wonderful video, I can't wait to see the upright cooler demonstrated in your video!!😍👍
Quality of the videos is constantly increasing. Good job! 👍
Keep up the great work. Your making steady progress. Sometimes life events pull you away from keeping everything up to date and on schedule.
I've watched this whole build in 2 sittings, and I can't wait to how it goes going forward! Well done!!
Man I was waiting for this
Missed you, nice to see you back. But, life gets in the way, so it good to see what you’ve been up to when you have the time. Can’t believe you can literally see the door distorting, you made a too thorough a job of the repair… you’ll sort it out 👍
On ya Buddy 😁
Top. Parabéns
Been looking out for your another of your videos - always a good watch! Great work on that patch. 🤙
Awesome. Fan Sydney Australia 🇦🇺. 💚
Wow. A lot of work for such a small rust repair. No wonder people charge so much for metal restoration.
20kkkk!!!
At the 10 min mark, you weld in a small funky green panel part, but you tack weld right onto the funky green panel and didn’t make the green bare metal. Is that right? You don’t have to grind away some of the green to weld that? Im new to this, thanks!
Good feed back on a stamp steel product. If you used the whole panel that may had been a lot more work. Pay money should get a better made panel.
💯👍👌🤗👏
Get a shrinking wheel
I just love these videos. Genuinely love them. How did you deal with spots you had to weld in but only could tack from the outside. My VW has this mayor windscreen rust repair and its nearly impossible to weld it from the back because you cannot reach it (VW LT 1). Is just welding from the outside a solution?
I don’t totally understand what your asking, you can weld from inside or outside. As long as you’re welding good metal to good metal the repair should be sound. If you’re saying it’s rotten inside and you can’t get to it then you can always cut a larger opening, make your repairs and then replace the piece you cut out. Good luck 👍
@@mcmotors100 Its a piece you can only weld from the outside, can't reach it from the inside when finishing off everything.
@@mcmotors100 and you can't paint or treat those welds. But ill have to just try it myself anyway.
@@FhVW I get you, yeah not ideal but sometimes just has to happen, like when Vagabonders had to weld on the new roof. My advice is weld through primer wherever you can prior to welding and if you can’t get to the back of the weld to protect it you might be able to get cavity wax in that area. If you don’t know it, they can come with a long tube 1 meter ish, which might allow you access and provide some protection.
@@mcmotors100 Ill try that. But yeah, these VW LT corners are made structurally so I have to cut out stuff to reach the backside of these outer panels.
I have to say one thing about your project. YOU will be the only one that knows all the "mistakes" you think you've made. Others will only see a nice refurbished vehicle. So while it is great to try and make perfection, it isn't a game stopper if you have some questionable places. I say that because we all make questionable issues when doing any type work. But we are our own worst critic as well... I applaud your work thus far!
I need this parts if you still want to sell it
I’m sure you’ve answered this, but how do you protect your bare metal all these months that it’s been stripped of paint and not primed?
I run a dehumidifier in my garage and keep the doors closed! Without moisture the panels don't really start to rust, but I will still Ospho any bare metal one last time before primer just in case!
@@Vangabonders Gotcha thanks. For me, that’s not really an option because my bus is outdoors under cover. Do you think it’s best I prime all bare metal when I’m done welding it to prevent rust while i’m finishing the rest?
