- Be blessed as Patrick Alston and his brother James Alston duet on this Hymn of the Faith, "The Old Rugged Cross," at the April 16, 2011 recital at Sligo SDA Church in Takoma Park, MD. Patrick is on the Rodger's organ and James on the Steinway.
My mom passed away this morning at the age of nearly 92 and this reminds me of how we use to play together her on the organ and me on the piano most of the times albeit we could both play both instruments - miss you mom
One of my fondest boyhood memories was hearing the organist and pianist at my Brooklyn church play hymns and gospel music together. The powerful pipe organ and piano in harmony are unmatched. This takes me back and brings me to tears. Amen, brothers. Thank you.
O WOW, such music, the stuff I hear in my head most of the time. Thank you gentlemen, You remind me of my friend Rev. Dr. Walter Jackson.
Fantastic!!! Glory!!!! You guys are truly anointed.
This is one of my favorite HYmns. I grew up singing this in the United Methodist church and this was simply beautiful! That Rodger Pipe Organ has the best response I've heard on a pipe organ!
Sooooo beautiful it brought to tears .
I always enjoy duet work and Love to play them when you have the right partner. Enjoyed
'The old rugged Cross' is inspirational. Without the incident surrounding the holy event, there will be no Christianity
Amen praise the lord I play these songs on my organ.
Beautiful!! Brings tears to my eyes. awesome!!!
Amen!! Praise the Lord. Annonited playing.
Your endings are always so magnificent.
To God be the Glory!!!
Beautiful!!
Beautiful!
praise the lord!!
Not only are you a great organist, but you have GOOD THREADS!!!!
Absolutely beautiful, but I'm sad that the recording of the organ overpowered the recording of the piano towards the end.
