omg your cat is absolutely beautiful
So helpful!! What about non treat based buttons?
I'm up to the point where my cats associate the buttons with actions (they will run to me for pets when I press the 'scritches' button for example) but the won't press it themselves haha. The closest I get is one of them faceplanting onto the buttons, but that's because he likes rubbing things while being petted, so I don't think that actually counts.
Status?
Thanks, first set of buttons on way
I reccomend using fluent pet buttons. I Introduced it to my cats today and they're so easy to press
Thanks!! I'm trying this out on my 3 lb free roam rabbit đ rn he's still learning "water" bc wen his motion sensing water fountain runs out of water, he usu starts running around by me n my husband trying to get our attention, and then he runs by the fountain and shakes the nic grids xD
Great video! Thank you! Manju is adorable!
My black cat is learning to ring a bell đïž for one temptations. He will come running when I ring but he doesnât press it
Well explained & demonstrated!
This was really helpful thank you!
Glad you found it helpful đ»đ»đ»
4 cat buttons arrived today, can't wait to get started! Great video & a gorgeous teacher too! xxx
Great video đđ»đ«¶
Great content !
Thank you!! đ»
Hungry!!!
Looks around for my food
4:20 nope. My cat literally doesnât see the button, like no matter how many times Iâve gone over reinforcing that sheâll have great outcomes if she just sits near it. She seems to take specific effort to climb over it and just meows at me for attention. Bruh, press the button and Iâll shower you down with love!
Some kitties are stubborn! đ»đ» It might be effective if you only reward her when she does what you want, in this case donât give out a treat if she meows for it. Then sheâll know that meowing doesnât end up with a treat. (I know how easy to give in I promise, those cute eyes đ)
@@FurryDiary treats are rare in my place! I think mine just needs loads of time and a gradual learning curve.
There's another talking cat -Justin Bieber the cat - his cat mom made some videos on teaching them to use buttons, as well. Maybe a variety of advice can help - she has tips for non-food-motivated cats, as well. (For my non-food-motivated cat...I found out that the one food that WILL get her to perk up are the Greenies treats... which are good for their teeth/stomachs anyways!)
I love your slippers! đ»
Haha thanks!! They are super comfy and durable (or just releasing my inner cat heart) đž
Thank you so much

Manju is so smart đœđ€
Thanks!! Heâs a fast learner đ»

Great quality videos!!! Subscribed yesterday and your cat is so cute! Literally living my dream đ are you planning on getting another cat anytime soon?
Thank you so much for liking out videos!! We are thinking about getting a second kitten but weâll do whatâs ultimately the best for Manju đž
Can I teach this to an old cat as well? How old was your cat when you introduced the buttons?
Iâve been working with my 8.5 year old cat on buttons and sheâs starting to understand that pressing the button means I will go and get a treat to give her, so Iâd say any age of cat can learn as long as their mind is still sharp.
If you check out the Billispeaks channel, you'll see a 14 year old cat using a lot of buttons, and she only started when she was 11! Older cats are just as smart - and giving them a challenging puzzle to learn like this will no doubt actually help keep them sharp, much like we humans are encouraged to keep up with mental teaser stuff as we age.
What if I don't have treats?
Buy some
My cats won't touch the button AT ALL w their paws or nose! And if I try to put their paws on the button, they jerk it away from me and won't let me have control to push the button w.o them freaking out and I don't want them to have a negative association w the button. Please help. I push it when they eat treats and give treats if they slightly touch the button w their face bc it's kind of hard to push and they won't touch it w paws or nose or anything on purpose.đ Might try the cat bells and lead up to buttons, if those even work đ đ
My cats won't touch the button either. I have tried the plastic container. They don't care. I put treat on button and push it when they eat the treat. Guess they are not interested.
