    Thank you for this I'm new to soaping this helped great because I just hate the metal and pour I feel I have to work too fast but this video help lots. 2 Key thing I learned from you here prepare your ingredients before starting the process and do the mixtures as your soap is melting. I see many complaint about the time it took to open and cut but ppl like me need that as well. Thanks you have a new subscriber

    It's a great video. Thank you.

    • @thekitchencastle
      @thekitchencastle  Před 2 lety +1

      Hello there! Yes it would be nicer to grate the soap because the smaller the particles, the lesser it will have a chance of burning the soap. But I chose to slice it thinly which is also great, but also did a job for saving time. Thank you for watching and please support my another channel Herbal DIY for videos related to these!

  • @ChristianMessagesAndTopics

    Melt and pour soap method should never involve bringing the water to a boil. High heat destroys any of the beneficial properties of the soap especially if it's a high quality soap. It's best to heat the water just enough to melt the soap otherwise you're basically cooking it.
    Regarding releasing the soap from mould once hardened.....you might want to rub body lotion on the inside of mould before pouring the melted mixture into it.....apply lotion on bottom and sides. It really helps to loosen up soap when it's ready to be removed from mould.

    The best soap to use is the Stephenson range that is SLS, WSLS & SLES Free from Palm Oil and is natural Opaque, Clear, Goats Milk, Aloe Melt and pour bases. It's also best to use a double boiler to melt it and not in the microwave and to colour using soap/skin safe colours and oils - not food colouring - can use eye shadow if you don't have any Liquid, Block dye or mica or oxide powder

      Hi Zhobba! Better use this on a baby when she is about 1 to 2 year old. If you're baby is still smaller, better wash her with more water and just the bubbles of the soap like when she's on a poop. Babies have very sensitive skin and can be too allergic when using soaps sometimes, even though it is made of natural ingredients. Thank you for watching!

    Didn't see a roach but an ant, at 9:23.... I appreciate the effort, but some of the ingredients just didn't do it for me. Do you know what was in your base? Also, be careful about contaminating ingredients with your hands, because everything you touch, and whatever is on the utensils you use, winds up going into the mix. I guess for an easy, first time out, not having to add oils "soap" this might be interesting to someone, so good job for the effort.

    if using a double boiler setup, you don't even need to slice that soap so thin and waste time. If chocolate can be melted on a double boiler, your soap base can make it through that same process.

    you cant really call it natural if you dont make the soap base and you dont know who made it or whats in it :/

    • @thekitchencastle
      @thekitchencastle  Před 6 lety

      Hi Ebby, I call it natural because it is inspired from natural oats and my soap base is vegan. Thank you for watching!

    • @mochs62512
      @mochs62512 Před 6 lety +1

      @@thekitchencastle but you cant call it natural because its "inspire" by something. If your soap base is not detergent free (meaning it includes things like sls, etc) it is NOT natural and you cannot call it that.

    No reason to slice that thin. You can make 1 inch cuts and then cut that into cubes. And you cant sat "1 piece". Thats not a measurement.

      And you cant use milk in melt and pour. You can use milk powders but not actual milk. It will mould

    • @thekitchencastle
      @thekitchencastle  Před 6 lety

      Hi! I did use milk powder but the liquid form I used is almond milk, which isn't really a mold magnet unlike cow's milk or pure goat's milk. I also prefer slicing thins than cubes because it melts faster and conserve more of the moisture. Thank you for the opinion!

    You can tell by the way this person handles stuff that this may be the first time they are making a soap. This is not even a homemade soap. It is a commercial soap with home additives.

      Hi! The reason why I chose to slice the soap instead of using a cheese grater is to save more soap..if I use a grater, chances are soap would stick to the grater in maximum amount and would lessen the bar weight. Thank you for watching!

      +Odracir Calañam Did I say anything about that her video was not good? No! I said "yuck" to a Beauty Supply Shop that sells a "Melt and Pour Soap Bar"! I thought I was very clear in my words. But I guess my words can be confusing to the uneducated. Melt and Pour Soaps are filled with all types of chemicals that aren't good for your skin, in order to allow it to be more easier to melt.

    • @PointofViews04
      @PointofViews04 Před 7 lety

      @Phoenix Fire I'm just asking if you are bitter about melt and pour soaps. I did not even thought about you being bitter about the channel. Are you mad? I didn't expected you to have a different idea.

    • @khione8044
      @khione8044 Před 7 lety

      +Odracir Calañam It's not about being bitter... Many members in my family have very sensitive skin. I was saying "Yuck" because Melt and Pour Soaps are made with a lot of harsh chemicals that are not good for your skin, in order to allow it to be more easier to melt. Those chemicals are very often, skin irritants to people with sensitive skin. I prefer homemade soaps that are made from scratch, that you know exactly what is going into the soap, and doesn't have a bunch of harsh chemicals added to it (You asked if I had a different idea, so I added that. Normally I try not to compare the 2, but you asked.).
