  • The battle for influence in Africa between the United States and China is increasingly heating up.
Tanzania, for example, saw trade volumes with China averaging US$9 billion annually and is hoping that figure could double by the end of the decade.
In the meantime, the US is also looking to boost trade and investment in the country, promising half a billion dollars in financing, to help companies export goods and services to Tanzania.

Not only in Africa , they do it in Asia also...
America's provocative path is raising concerns among countries in Asia
The US Foreign Policy to keep Asia poor and divided as stated in a top-secret U.S. Foreign Policy document written 76 years ago is still in force.
      February 24, 1948, Declassified U.S. Foreign Policy:
Furthermore, we have about 50% of the world’s wealth but only 6.3% of its population. This disparity is particularly great as between ourselves and the peoples of Asia. In this situation, we cannot fail to be the object of envy and resentment. Our real task in the coming period is to devise a pattern of relationships which will permit us to maintain this position of disparity without positive detriment to our national security. ... that Japan and the Philippines will be found to be the corner-stones of such a Pacific security system and that if we can contrive to retain effective control over these areas there can be no serious threat to our security from the East within our time.
Taiwan was added to the Pacific security system after Chiang's army retreated to the island of Taiwan in 1949. South Korea was added after the Korean War in 1953. The attempt with Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia was abandoned in 1975.

Africa Chinese direct investment rose from $1 billion in 2004 to $43.4 billion in 2020.
Since 1990, Chinese enterprises established eleven SEZs in sub-Saharan Africa including Nigeria (two), Zambia, Djibouti, Kenya, Mauritius, Mauritania, Egypt, Oman, and Algeria.
The SEZs facilitated labour-intensive and less competitive industries, for example in textiles. These efforts aim to transfer China's development successes to other countries and increase business opportunities for all.

Cheng He from China sailed the oceans and landed in Lamu, Kenya, some 80 years before Columbus discovered the New World. What is most surprising is that as advanced as China was at that time, with 30 ships landing in Kenya, China did not enslave the Africans. Instead, they returned to China with a giraffe. Chinese values harmonious co-existence, cooperation, and respect for other cultures. Western Anglo-European and American cultures have always been very extractive, exploitative, and predatory towards non-white populations. Their immigration policies divide the world into Eastern and Western Hemisphere. They imposed restrictions on the number of people that can enter tge U.S.from the Eastern Hemisphere all the way to Afghanistan, but there are no restrictions on the Europeans.

For decades, the IMF keep giving Nigerian kleptomania politicians money for infrastructural development.

After the seventies the west reduced their financing of infrastructure projects. Most of their aid money went to what was referred to as "institution building," that is to say promoting democracy, gender equity, environment and so on that required the local governments to hire expensive western consultants whose fees were paid from the aid money. So nothing was built instead most of the aid money went back to the donor country through their consultants!

China does the opposite and helps with the development of infrastructures that benefit the people economically in exchange for goods and services.
Take a look at the Philippines for example, an ally of the US for nearly 100 years and yet look at where the Philippines is now, many people are still struggling just to make ends meet and the country is still a third world country way behind Singapore, South Korea, and Japan. The neighboring Nations such as Vietnam, Indonesia,Thailand, and the rest of ASEAN are even doing well if not much better in certain sectors. Don't end up like the Philippines being used and dictated by the US when it comes to economic trades and making independent foreign policies. The Philippines are losing economically because the US is holding the country hostage, preventing The Philippines from doing trades with Russia and other countries whom the US considered their enemies. 💢
