3 Eggs
Sugar 150g (3/4 cup)
Vegetable Oil 100ml (1/3 cup and 1 tablespoon)
Plain yogurt 150g (2/3 cup)
Pinch of Salt
Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
Plain Flour 200g (1 1/4 cups)
Baking powder 1 1/2 teaspoons (6g)
Cocoa powder 1 tablespoon (10g)
Instant Coffee 1 teaspoon
Warm Water about 2 tablespoons
Some Chocolate sprinkles (optional)
Baking pan size 21x11x6 cm
Bake in a preheated Oven at 170c (338f) for 35-40 minutes

It was delicious. I made one today. I drizzled some confectioners sugar icing on it because the cake itself is not very sweet. The chocolate is a nice surprise and looks great when you slice it. Thank you for the sweet and lovely recipe. Pairs well with cuppa tea, coffee or even hot chocolate. ❤

Oh gosh, looks so amazing and soft. My problem is I’d eat half the batter before baking! I’d try a mashed banana in it, not a fan of cocoa and the coffee mix, but we all have our own taste buds.

Do u love batter too?? I was beginning to think I was the only one one. I ALWAYS like cake and cookies better, as batter and dough!! I don’t don’t know WHY, but I just do!! I even like homemade bread dough!! But I’d have to say I like baked bread equal to bread dough. U are probably not quite as over the top, like me, when it comes to raw dough! (Or are u??!!)
@@foofookachoo1136 i havent tried eating bread dough mix? Is that mixture for a bread maker? As my 3 kids also like to eat cookie dough, I’d divide into 5 clumps and i’d take 2, but had to hide the extra one for me. Sponge mixture is also good and choc chips cookies dough! Now the kids are mums themselves, their kids also get to eat cookie dough. Around midnight if im not sleeping, id just cream butter and sugar, add some flour, and eat. Thinking about it now turns me off, but I’ve had 2 teeth extractions yesterday and 5 cavities to be done next week. So have decided no more bowl licking!

Fold in the flour gently just until it’s incorporated. Do NOT use a hand mixer otherwise your cake will be tough.
I did it by hand and it’s still turned tough.
Any tips to keep it soft
I did it again I added baking soda

When you beat the flour into the eggs all the work you had done before is useless, because that makes the dough tough. Just fold the flour in with spatula carefully otherwise your cake will be tough. At least if you prefer the mixer, just mix it till things mixed no longer.
That is a VERY tender cake. She did not over mix the batter.
I just made this cake yesterday and although it’s flavor is good, it turned out heavy. Not light as shown in the video. I agree that the flour is introduced too aggressively and if I had folded it in gently I would have had a better result. The instructions on every cake I’ve ever made was to fold in the flour just until blended. Do not beat the batter. The video should be edited or this should be part of the directions. I’m going to try it again and see what happens.

Don't have instant coffee so used 2 tblspoons of espresso. Worked well and gave a true coffee flavour.

This looks great! I am going to try putting the chocolate mixture inbetween the vanilla and marble the cake do you think it will work? Or is the choclate mixture denser thatn the vanilla? 😃xx
Hi, there is not much difference in thickness. Try it. Even if the batters are different, it will give you a lovely marble effect ❤️ let me know how it goes.
