  • Welcome back to Stars Of The Diamond!
Today’s featured set is the 1960 Fleer "Baseball Greats" set. It largely features retired players ha are almost all in the Hall of Fame. It includes such greats as Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, Ty Cobb, Lou Gehrig, Honus Wagner, etc, etc.
In this video I show my set of cards and talk about the characteristics of the cards and the players within the set.
I love this set because it has some really significant cards that will not break the bank! For example, the best cards in the set can be had for under $100
Let me know which cards you enjoyed the most. If you collect this set and would like to discuss it farther or if you have questions just let me know in the comments below and I will respond.

Cool looking set. Don't hear much about old Fleer cards and sets such as these. I will be looking for these. Thanks for the awesome content!

They are a very affordable way to get your feet wet in the vintage market! Just fun sets that are not as appreciated as they probably should be.

Kinda like Baseball’s First ATG set! I am close to completing this set. Great video!

Great review of this set! Such a cool set. I have a few, but not really any of the big names. I need to add some more.

Daniel, thanks for the comments! It really is a great set, especially for the price you can pick them up for!

Really enjoyed this video. You have a beautiful set! I wasn’t familiar with the decals. I am working on this set PSA graded with my 12 hear old son. We are doing it in grades 6 to 8. Wanted to do it graded just for the extra challenge and to have something preserved that we can keep in the family. We have 26 so far. He got Ruth for Christmas. Haven’t had a difficult time getting them and they are affordable. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the kind words! It is a set I have been collecting for many years and they are one of my favorites. The 1961-62 All-Time Greats set is another of my favorites and is definitely a bit more of a challenge due to size and difficulty of the later # cards. I might do another video on that set at some point as well.

I really like the fact that you don't treat your cards "clinically". Nice, informative video.

Thanks for the comment, cards were meant to be appreciated in their natural state. I am not against graded cards in any way but I love how easy it is to look through my binders!

There is actually 3 Pepper Martin error cards in this set. You forgot Eddie Collins. I have one.

Thanks for sharing. It's too bad that a Baseball Greats set didn't include any African American players like Jackie Robinson or Satchel Paige..

Totally agree with you. It would have been awesome to have a Jackie Robinson card or Satchel Paige card.
