It’s kind of like opening $20,000 worth of packs today and getting $500 of value in them lol
@@carolinatarheels7903 Def not about value. It's a physiological endorphin hit, i.e. a form of addiction. The next generation might move mostly to ePacks, to get their gamers' hit. I estimate 80 to 90% based on what I have seen on CZcams is made up bullshit. It is like seeing a script for a reality show.
I guess people are tired of waiting for interesting things to happen, so they just fake it. It is all bullshit.

I think it's cool to see things like this but it also shows how the hobby has really transformed into different worlds--one very elite and based on financials most can't fathom and everyone else. It's become collecting classic cars or wine at this point.
The retail stuff is still for the kids and is back to normal but yes the top of the line products each year are not really for the average consumer which is kind of sad. It would be nice if even the retail products had 1/1 autos even with redemptions that never expired of big names to give people something to chase after.
Hilarious watching people clapping when someone turns a very rare 20k item into $100 worth of easily found commons. Maybe tommorow you could take a Picasso and use to wrap Christmas presents??
Meh, win some you lose some. I’ve seen people drop twice that at the casino, lose and not bat an eye.
Cards are meant to be opened. That's their purpose. A Picasso isn't meant to wrap gifts.
My biggest problem with these old single packs is that I have always considered them to be “leftover” packs with the previous ones with the stars in them having been opened already! My opinion but from what I have seen with these random older packs, more commons come out of them than stars ever do!! 🤷🏻♂️
Ugh

The remaining unopened 52 Bowman packs just skyrocketed in value 🤣🤑
Haha yep! That’s one reason why I love investing in sealed wax.
@@SportsCardInvestor How many 52 Bowman packs do you think are out there? I thought maybe some people have full boxes still with many packs?
@@888strummer there's probably maybe 4 to 7 sealed boxes left total discovered and undiscovered. Every year the supply dwindles by 10% of the total population. Eventually less than 24 packs will remain of 1952 Bowman.

I’m just not a fan of busting vintage packs. It’s breaking history. They are almost always better left sealed
It’s all these newcomers that have no respect when it comes to sentimental value.
Your odds of pulling a Mays/Mantle from this pack is pretty small. I'd have just kept the graded pack as is ! $20,000 just went **POOF** !!! 🙄
I'm torn. It's not hard to notice what happened here, but it's also content that's generating traffic. Ripping that pack could be looked at as a loss leader for the channel and it's not like it wasn't at least sorta cool (and I didn't pay, so whatever).
@@colinburroughs9871 but if you appreciate the history and the significance like I believe you should it just outweighs the money aspect. This makes no sense. History is the cards, not the packs.
Great news for the other 1952 pack owners out there....now there's one less available and your stock just went up. Awesome video however, loved the thrill of the possibilities.
Nice Way of Looking At Your Investment...
100% like when a rare low numbered car crashes LOL
Impossible to tell at any one point how many are actually left. The pop report only shows how many of a card has been graded previously, but there is no check after the fact that they all still exist as graded cards. Some get stolen, destroyed, or broken out of slabs for re-submission. People rarely tell PSA to remove those entries. So.. just take pop reports as a VERY rough guide. Value can plummet if some random pops up with a bunch of these sealed packs they've been hoarding all this time. Was there ever a record kept on the print numbers? Cause these packs would have numbered in the thousands
No Mays or Mickey or a HOF’er? Hmm, the pack must’ve been authenticated by BBCE.

@@shakascloset1700 yah dip Daniel?
Broken literally a couple dozen 1952 Bowman baseball sets made up of cards pulled from penny packs as well as from 5 cent packs so I have seen lots of cards with wax stains. Never seen a wax stain like the one pulled from that pack. I think that is what the back would look like if the pack were subjected to being reheated to resealing. My suspicion is that BBCE got it wrong on this pack being originally sealed. Additionally he had to struggle to peel the wax wrapper to open it and ended up having to tear it to get the cards out. Pretty confident that pack was resealed based on those two observations.
Great observations…..
True enough
That was totally what I thought also that the pack had been opened and resealed.
Vintage breaks literally confirmed pack scamming yesterday😂
YA DIPPED DANIEL !? 😜
Why ya a Dip Daniel?
I was hoping for you pal. It would have been sweet to see a big card pulled even if it wasn't the Mantle. Now, the remaining packs have become more desirable. All the best!
It’s still cool to have a card that old. A real artefact. Vintage has a charm that modern simply doesn’t have.
You can buy these commons in a psa 8 for $50-$70.

People need to realize that any Single Vintage Pack, regardless if it is Authenticated, is most likely a dud pack. Not fake, but a Dud. I will use myself as an example why. About 20 years ago, I opened a 1986 Fleer Basketball Box. I knew on average, there would be 2-4 Jordan's, most likely 3. And I did get 3 Jordans with about 14-15 packs left to go.
While the chance of a 4th Jordan exists in the remaining packs, the chance of there NOT being a 4th Jordan is much more overwhelmingly higher. And plus, I have never heard of anyone pulling 4 Jordans from a box before.
Thus, I got the remaining 14-15 packs authenticated and sold them off, and because they were authenticated, I got premium prices for them and actually made nearly the price I paid for the entire box!
I felt as sure as I possibly could feel that those 15 packs had no Jordans in them. At the time, no other card mattered, so after that 3rd Jordan was pulled, I viewed the those remaining packs were worthless.
Anyway, what I am insinuating is that most high dollar packs like this one, are "left over" packs from a box.
Hence, if you ever buy a single pack like this, you DO NOT open it, as it's most likely a leftover pack from a box where the high value cards have been pulled already.
And this also goes into the "scam" of a piece together box, ie., people can piece together a full 36 pack box with leftover packs.
Hence, if you are ever going to buy a high dollar Sealed box, it does not matter if it is Authenticated. What matters is of the Box is Authentcated with the inscription that it is FASC "From a Sealed Case", ie, not pieced together box.
I like this info, thanks. Very wisely notated. Being a total nerd-novice I wonder about these things. I saw this video online awhile back where someone did a break on a box of 1972 or 1974 Topps Baseball that they paid several thousands for and the box was sealed and authenticated by BBCA. After the first three or four packs the cards were all saturated with residue from the gum. I guess it seeped through the cards and they stopped the break. That's got to be a concern to anyone buying something like that, right?
Wow. Definitely killed this explanation.
Pull all the food cards and sell the dud packs for high dollar? Kinda ratty if you ask me. This is why you can't buy sealed wax online anymore
@@kylecrain6426 I wouldn't make that much of an effort to be a schnook. It's not worth my time. I guess I'm just too poor to do anything like that, but, I wouldn't in the first place. I keep wrappers of packs I've opened just cause I like the wrappers. I paid $40. for three BEATLES wax wrappers from the 1960s just cause they looked so cool. If they'd had cards in them I never would have opened the packs. Of course, you wouldn't expect to get a GEM MINT 10 RINGO ROOKIE, right?
@@kylecrain6426 you are exactly right, it is a scum move. That was the only time I did that, 20 years ago, to be honest at the time, the Hobby was much different than it is now, and when I stopped opening the rest of the packs, it was more done so as an after thought, with no "scam intention".
But I share that story because when it's done today, the intention is clear by the person doing it. Open up 3 Boxes of a product, hope to pull the hot hits early on, and use the leftover packs from 3 boxes to make up a full box, and BBCE it.
But is it bad when all the major companies is doing it? Is it any different than Blowout or Dave Adam's or Steel City, get the case hits and then sell just the remaining boxes?
Main takeaway for me is that I do not hold any old BBCE boxes as a premium, but rather approach them with hesitancy, because the majority of the BBCE boxes were done at a time when no one cared to open boxes, so how many are suspicious?
Even Dave Adam's now have their own box sealing product which seems like a good approach.
Wow that was a dumpster fire

Me Personally, I Would've worn the blue gloves, because the oils on our fingertips could affect the vintage cards... I do not trust Card Savers... I feel like they Could or Are putting to much pressure on the edges and damage them by Pinching Them, which could affect the grading...All the Different Camera Men reminded me of Vultures waiting for the Predator to leave the Carcass behind... It's Always A Gamble looking for Certain Cards,... But Is Always What If, & What Is Inside, is a Itch that Needs to be Scratched... That is the Card In There or is it Not, Or What Is Exactly inside that pack.... Opening Up Packs is better that having that Question Mark, regardless of how Valuable it is.
So what would the value be for selling those cards now?
Next to nothing, my guess would be the cards inside that pack are worth a grand total.of $150.
The guy in the back putting so much effort into his video recording 🤣🤣🤣

Here’s why you’re not likely to hit anything with these certified vintage packs, including the 1986 Fleer basketball packs. The people who break the boxes open each pack until they hit the Mantle, Jordan, whatever is the chase card. Once it hits, and they have a good idea where they are based off the collation and the 1st pack opened, then the rest of packs are sent for certification. The odds of that same card in another pack in that box is very low.
They've actually been doing this for years and one of the reasons I stopped collecting after the 90's, that and the prices of packs/boxes/cases !!
Ok ... so you clearly don't know 86 Fleer .. should get 2 Jordans, possible to get 3 in the same box ...
As for collation after just one pack -- ONLY if you already know the sorting order of everything else in the stack of packs in most cases ...
You DO NOT always have to even open the packs on older wax that you can see through ...
Even 90 Score Hockey, which made an attempt to collate Lindros RC's in the middle sandwich of 4 cards ... those can also be searched .. just a bit tricky ...
so the odds are based on the box? You don't have equal chances of pulling any particular card in every back?
Lol there are usually several mj in 86 fleer boxes
@@JohnDoeDeadhead420 Really? I’ve seen tons of box breaks and most I’ve ever seen is 1. Half the times there’s none.
