  • The Dreyse 1907 is a pistol the commonly elicits lots of cocked eyebrows and sideways glances for it... unique appearance. This only exacerbates when you start to compare it to the hugely popular FN 1900 and realize that this entire Dreyse pistol seems to have been designed to mimic the FN as closely as possible without actually tripping over any patents... suddenly lots of the stranger design choices begin to make at least a little more head shaking, face palming sense.
(Also, yes,... mine seems to dislike PPU ammo... I dunno...)

It's a good day when the Judge uploads. Nice calming music to listen to.

I have a FN 1900 - the third one on my life. If you follow three tips, those stoppages will disappear:
1 - Sand all dragging points (slide rails, magazine lips and follower, breechface and feeding ramp) to a mirror finish. I used sandpapers of 600, 1200 and 2000 grits.
2 - Replace the recoil spring.
3 - Use European ammo brands made under CIP standard. PPU ammo, even being European, follows US SAAMI standards. Fiocchi, Sellier & Bellot and Geco works better.
With a new and strong spring, mirror finished sliding surfaces and European ball ammo, cartridges will feed like wet soap.

Every Dryse I have seen (and I have owned 2) has had the back where the firing pin/cocking indicator sticks out buggered up by someone thinking it "unscrews" there. A sharpie lid. Innovative. I used a 45-70 fired brass case.
Oh and PS: Have you heard the tale that the Red Baron had a Luger on his belt when shot down but carried a Dryse in a shoulder holster as a backup gun?
