The Luger - The 1906 "American Eagle"

The luger pistol needs no introduction. Since the year 1900, the unique lines and styling of the Luger have been as iconic as the toggle locked action is strange. This particular example is part of a batch that was imported to the US in 1906, and features a chambering in .30 Luger, markings in English, a gorgeous US eagle seal over the chamber, and the rightfully loathed grip safety - definitely not the most refined iteration of the pistol, but still one of the coolest... to me anyway.

Query: was that Luger refinished or is it in the original? Looks AWESOME. I own a 1920s American import 30. Like yours only sans grip safety. One of my favorites.
