Popeye gave his hamburger to Wimpy. Popeye doesn't really care much for hamburgers, he's more of roast duck person. Roast duck is his favorite dish in the comics. He only eats spinach to get extra strength.
As soon as Wimpy saw Popeye get his food, he was probably thinking in his head, "Oooh Popeye's got a hamburger! Mine!" and then he started grabbing plates and condiments and sat at Popeye's table as if he knew he was getting a free burger. Some friend Wimpy is sometimes...
Did anybody else notice the ketchup is spelled catsup? Once upon a time, catsup was the way it was spelled in America and some other countries. While Ketchup was the spelling in Britain, Heinz changed the spelling to. ketchup early on. Its competitors followed suit. Del Monte didn't change the spelling till 1988. 🍅🍔 regardless of how it's spelled, they're the same recipe. I noticed it looks more watery, and they captured the time period by using the thinner version. At one time, ketchup had a consistency more like Worcester sauce. I also appreciated the fact they had mustard🟨 out as that's my condiment of choice on a burger.
People still call this a "bad movie" because they don't realize that it's based on the original comics, NOT the cartoons that came much later. They don't even know who Geezil, Ham Gravy, Cole Oyle, Castor Oyle, Roughouse, Barnacle Bill, etc. are. They only know who Popeye, Olive, Swee'Pea, and Wimpy are. They ask questions like "Why doesn't Popeye like Spinach? Why doesn't he already know Olive?" People who have read the comics realize how really great this movie was, and how dedicated the actors were to making all the characters come alive for us. They really don't make great movies like this anymore.
I think most people call this a "bad movie" because Robert Altman was a disastrous choice as a director, the plot is poorly constructed, and Harry Nilsson's songs are surprisingly forgettable. Lots of things happening randomly is no substitute for a coherent plot. 🤔
@@TheStockwell Is that a neurotypical view? This movie is genius from a neurodiverse view.
