As I recall, Pecker had to promise he would testify truthfully or the deal with prosecutors would be pulled placing Pecker in legal trouble.
If I were a Juror, I wouldn't care about "the deal" if the evidence backs up the testimony.
If I was a Juror I would notice that the deal was to prevent prosecution for being in a conspiracy with Donald Trump. If Donald Trump wasn't guilty of conspiracy, David Pecker wouldn't need a non-prosecution deal.
Also the jury knows about Pecker's immunity deal, and that pecker would lose that deal if Pecker lies.

Since, Trump knew about it, that was a conspiracy (with Donald Trump) to break campaign finance law. If he hadn't given MacDoogle money, he wouldn't have needed a non-prosecution agreement. Highlighting the agreement, makes Trump look more guilty since there isn't anything else that Pecker was potentially criminally liable for.

And the illegal means in this case include falsifications of business records, which become felonies due to the attempted election tampering.
Lying under oath is a lawbreaking rule. Regardless on whether or not Pecker got a sweet deal.
