      The templars can be divided in two. The old guard who had no interest in sparking a revolution and the new, who we fight, who planned to use the revolution to create a clean slate and create a France based on the "True" Ideas of the order

      Nothing actually. Like what I mean is, The Assassin’s werent trying too play a part in the revolution. The French Rite Templars on the other hand were having a civil war, due too their current Grand Master and Elise, having new views and trying too change theTemplar Order, and the loyalist Templars were not happy with that. The Loyalist Templars then killed him, and tried too do the same with Elise. The Assassins originally were not trying too interfere with the revolution. Because they did not believe in forcing society into their idles, why the Loyalist Templars were trying too escalate the revolution, by taking away food, and supply lines too make the french people more and more radical.
      The thing about the Templars is that they do not mind causing havoc as long as it benefits their plans.

    Which Templar faction would you side with, Germain or Elise’s? Give me a philosophical answer

    • @JabamiLain
      @JabamiLain Před 3 lety +8

      Germain's. Lord DeLaserre and Count Mirabeau were too weak to do what needed to be done. A revolution/change in government is meaningless if the people take no part in it, even if it's throught violence, for the people must stand their ground and show why they need to be listened. And if you're afraid they'll go too far, do what Germain's Templars did. Manipulate the conflict to keep it under your control. And besides, DeLaserre was a shortsighted fool. How could he refuse the help of the King of the Beggars !? I'm not very fond of gangsters either, and yet, I know he is far more useful than a "king of gutters" talking about the "intrigues of rats". At least he could have used him while trying to find a way of dismanteling most of his organization (when France was remade according to the Templars'image of course), and keep only the network of spies and tax collectors intact.
      Also, believing in his ideals is like liking those co-op missions in which you have to help the Girondists just for the sake of keeping the Templars out of control.

    • @JabamiLain
      @JabamiLain Před 3 lety +3

      @@stephenbenton1597 oh ! Sorry, I should have especified that believing in DeLaserre ideals is like liking those missions in which you have to help the Girondists, in other words, it's like being an idiot who doesn't want the world to change for the better.
      But to answer your question, I believe mostly in the Templars'ideals.

    • @stephenbenton1597
      @stephenbenton1597 Před 3 lety

      @@JabamiLain So overall you believe that Germain’s faction is justified in orchestration the French Rev. However, do you also acknowledge the points made by the other faction?
      Elise’s faction seeks to maintain order through control, which they do by supporting the absolute monarchy, Germain’s faction caused chaos and anarchy throughout France which, as Elise’s faction points out, goes against the Templar’s mission to prevent chaos. What do you have to say regarding this?

    • @JabamiLain
      @JabamiLain Před 3 lety +2

      @@stephenbenton1597 the monarchy was either corrupt, like the nobles, or completely weak to the point of not imposing authority, like the king. No superficial new king or council of "capable men" could change something that is rotten at its core, especially if the person who wants to change it sees the poor class of France as rats that do nothing but fight between themselves (as if aristocracy back then was any better). Then, France needed to start over. And besides, Germain also explained that the objective of the revolution being so radical was to make the future generations of France be more afraid of such chaos caused by revolutions such as this. The problem with Assassins, is that they put too much faith in Men's hearts. With my order (the Templars) the problem is that they are so obessessed with order, that they forget with the proper balance, chaos can also be controled to shape the world according to our vision/our order, after all, before order, chaos must come first. Germain and many past and future Templars like him understood this.
      I should mention however that doesn't mean I don't agree with the ways of Templars such as Haytham Kenway. He tried a more controlled revolution that would extinguish the will to fight out of the people of the colonies and cut the British outside of America from the yet to born U.S.A, an idea that I truly worship with all my strenghts. Unfortunately, France was too crippled for softer tactics. More ruthless and harder actions had to be taken.
